May 26, 2011I set my wife's contact with a custom ringtone. Sometimes when she calls, the phone plays the custom ringtone. Sometimes she calls, and it plays the default ringtone.
I check the settings, and the custom tone is still set correctly. And the ringtone is on the phone, not on the memory card.
Today I noticed that when this happened, the phone started ringing the default tone while her cell number appeared on the screen, before the phone detected it was the contact with her name. Could it be that the phone delayed recognizing her number as being on the contact list, and therefore played the default tone?

Oct 3, 2013I just got my new HTC One today...and I must say I'm in love and having tons of fun figuring this beauty out. I do have one issue I just can't seem to figure out, and I've researched relentlessly.
How do I give a contact a custom SMS Notification tone? I've figured out that I can give each contact their own ringtone, but nowhere am I seeing an option for text message notifications. The only SMS notification I can change is the default one.

Except for one of my contacts, I can not seem to set either mp3's or aac's as a custom ringtone for a contact. Though I have gone through the process multiple times, only my custom default ringtone plays when I receive a call.
I would appreciate any and all help that will assist me in getting this resolved. To say I am slightly frustrated would be an understatement.

In my itunes ringtone folder i can see the 3 ringtones i have put on there so far yet when i go to settings on my iphone only one shows up, not the multiple copies others have experienced. im using itunes 9.0.3 and have iphone 3gs 16gb version 3.1.2
