View 1 RepliesI am currently using Xperia IceCream Pureness ROM on my Xperia Pro with Ultima ICS kernel (allows overclocking upto 2.0 Ghz ).However, I guess I am tired of custom ROMs now and want to go back to original (Stock) ICS but still keeping the overclocking part.what's the process to just flash the Stock ROM keeping my kernel? Bootloader is unlocked by the way.

View 2 Replies View RelatedWhat is everyone else running for custom RGB settings on custom kernels to fix the color inaccuracy? I'm running the following which when compared to my IPS computer monitor, is pretty similar:
Red - 220
Green - 232
Blue - 256
Saturation - 30
I'm planing to use Wugfresh Nexus Root Toolkit to do a clean install of the image.. If I have to flash custom kernel, any good one (battery friendly and nice performance).

View 11 Replies View RelatedI've been playing with the idea overclocking for a while now. Wasn't sure if I should wait for 2.2, but, it sounds like it could be a while longer. So I'm tempted to take the plunge. My only incentive to root is to overclockI know there are a few options for me to root...
1. Easyroot, Milestone Overclock, not sure if this is persistent though. Might have to overclock each time reboot.
2. G.O.T/OpenRecovery. I've read about it on various forums, and it's clearer now, but, I'm still not 100% yet. But, overclocking via the G.O.T menu looks quite straightforward.
Which method is easier in the end? Also, if I want to go with option 2, can anyone recommend which 3 files (Service.sbf, Recovery File, and Update.zip) I should use that works best for the Telus network? Also, does my phone need to be unlocked even though I'm only planning on using it on the Telus network?Keep in mind that I really only want overclock (800-900Mhz) at this point.

View 1 Replies View RelatedThere are rumors the first region's update (Europe) will roll out starting tomorrow.According to sources, the update will NOT install if you are using a custom ROM, you are rooted, and you are not on 2.1.that's right! You must have an OFFICIAL 2.1 unrooted rom.here's the screenshot from SE's site before it was removed...this details the feature updates (remember these are only features....many more things may have been added/updated than are listed here). It's also been confirmed the update will include baseband 2.1.70, and POSSIBLY (unconfirmed) a kernel update
View 9 Replies View RelatedI set my wife's contact with a custom ringtone. Sometimes when she calls, the phone plays the custom ringtone. Sometimes she calls, and it plays the default ringtone.
I check the settings, and the custom tone is still set correctly. And the ringtone is on the phone, not on the memory card.
Today I noticed that when this happened, the phone started ringing the default tone while her cell number appeared on the screen, before the phone detected it was the contact with her name. Could it be that the phone delayed recognizing her number as being on the contact list, and therefore played the default tone?
I recall years ago that SE had a theme creator for feature phones. Is there something similar for SE Xperia Active?

I just got my new One M8 a few days ago and ran into some battery draining issue. After charging the device (second charge if to be precise), I went to sleep with 99% battery while all apps are closed, Wi-Fi is turned off and Battery Saver wasn't on. After 6.5~ hours, the battery was at 89%. In my opinion 10% drain overnight, during standby is a lot and that's why I'm a bit concerned.
Based on some recommendations, I installed GSam Battery Monitor, please see below results. It looks like Kernel and Android System consumes 36% which is a lot. How to decrease the consumption and what causes the Kernel and Android System to consume 36%?
On that matter, it seems like the GSam consumes 5.8%. When I close the app, does it stop monitoring and consuming power or it works in the background and keeps sucking the battery?
I'm currently on Franco Kernel but want to change to ElementalX kernel.
I've read that you can't just install the new kernel over the old kernel is that true?
Will I need to do wipe my device in order to install?
When i power the phone appear a message with android robot with text message : Kernel Panic/ Upload mode !
