But I don't want to have a custom text ringer for those people. Whenever I set a custom ringer for those contacts, it automatically changes the text ringer as well. Is there any way to only give them a custom call-tone and leave all text messages as the same tone?

Feb 1, 2010- i set a custom ringtone for SMS for a contact (ie BBPro_Sanguine)
- all other options (vol, LED, vib, etc) are set to "Active Profile"
- hit "try it" and you get nothing.
- if that person actually sends an SMS, either you dont get ringtone, or it does default Lightspeed tone.
also, if you set any of the other options (vol,LED,vib), the ring tone works: but if you do custom ringtone for voice calls, everything work as it should. started happening after i upgraded to the 428 leak. hasnt gone away since all the hybrids if installed.
Lumia 1520 :: Custom Text Tone Cuts Off About Halfway
Aug 11, 2014I have a custom tone for text messages (SMS) but my 1520 stops playing it about halfway through.
I have had this tone for a while and I think it started only playing about 50% of it when I updated to WP8.1 Dev Preview. I've been hanging on to see if Cyan fixed it, but it hasn't. The funny thing is, every once in a while (maybe once per week) it will play the whole thing.

BB Bold 9700 :: Weird Ring Tone / Alert Situation - Changes As Soon As Take Out From Holster From Set To Default Tone
Jun 14, 2010So the 'Normal' profile of my 9700 (Phone) is set up to play ALWAYS simply because it is on my desk in the office, it is not in the holster, and I want to hear when it rings.
I also have a ring tone that I downloaded (not the default).I noticed that when the phone is in the holster and it rings, as soon as I take it out from the holster the ring tonne changes from the one I set up to the default AT&T ring tone.

I have a problem in setting ring tone and message tone.When i trying to set ringing tone or message alert tone in the Profiles(General) it showing an error message as "Not enough memory to show all ringing tones. only tones in read only memory will be displayed". But my phone memory has 50.1 MB free space and My memory card has 1.2 GB memory space.

BB Bold 9650 :: Wrong Alert Tone For SMS Played - Song Tone For Email Alert Came
Jun 26, 2010This is only the second time this has happened since I got the phone a few weeks back.I have all of my messages set to different specific ringtones. My SMS to one, my MMS to one, my email to one etc. So tonight I rcvd an email and instead of playing the tone it always plays that it is set for (one of the generic preloaded notifier tones)... it played my SMS tone (which is an actual song tone) to alert me to my email.
And NO I didnt recieve a new SMS at the same time. That folder is empty and the only red star alert was on my email envelope. Like I said this is very, very few and far between but why would this happen??I went over every one of my sound/alert settings and they are all the way they should be set for my liking.

Jun 26, 2010I am shocked to see that TuneWiki is not available on E72, so I am comparing the OviStore from other Nokia series to E72, and it lacking a lot of great games & apps.So, I assume there are 3rd Party applications somewhere outside Ovi, I have been looking for shoutcast compatible streaming radio application, and the only thing I can find is Kinoma which costs $30, compared to TuneWiki that is completely free and works well.Is there a topic with favorite applications and recommendations?

With this method, I managed to create 1 year ago the first shorcut "Emploi du temps" (mean Timetable) in gray on the Home screen.BUT NOW, i came across on this page !!! Sep 29, 2011I've got a very strange problem. When I try to set a contact as a favorite by pressing the star it flashes a couple of times and then goes out. When I go to the favorites tab a different contact is now the favorite. No matter which contact I try to make a favorite only that one contact becomes a favorite. The same goes for ringtones. If I try to set a ringtone for a contact it remains the default ringtone and the same contact that always gets flagged as a favorite gets assigned the ringtone. I have tried refreshing my phone and starting over to no avail. This used to work even after upgrading to GB.

Jun 9, 2010I have been creating all sorts of trails within Ovi maps.I have, in error now created at least 400 "favourite places" while trying to create a trail.These favourite places seem to be slowing down my devices, and I can find no easy way of deleting them. Other than selecting each one and confirming individually.I have deleted the places on the Ovi Maps interface within IE, but I am unable to synchronise the phone to pick up my deletions.I'm guessing I am unable to sync due to the very large number of favourite places I have on the device.
I've tried to delete OVI maps, but I'm guessing its part of the OS...Does anyone know how I can delete them through the file explorer view?

Aug 13, 2015Ever since the latest update from tmobile my favorite contacts are not appearing on my edge, the tab is only there sometimes. My settings is all correct and the only way that tab will appear is if I restart my phone and or go into my settings, turn off people edge and back on then it appears again, but only for a little while. Then disappears again, same with restarting my phone. This one of the main reasons I bought this phone.
