Aug 4, 2011I'm wondering why in the instructions of use we recommend to check the 'manual' option of the time configuration of this phone.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI am having this Xperia Mini Pro in my family since May 2012. When I purchased, it came with GB, and very soon there after, the update/upgrade to ICS was released. The upgrade was duly installed through the PC Companion.
I had initially noticed that there is no "Automatic" option under Menu → Settings → Display → Brightness. But then, the handset was in use mainly by my wife and I didn't think much about it since she always keeps the brightness at maximum or near there. Recently we swapped handsets and since I'm a heavy user, I looked for the setting to reduce battery usage, but couldn't find it!
I thought there must be some miss/bug in the software. I downloaded "Andro Sensor" from the market and there is no "Ambient Light Sensor" shown by that app! In fact, it says Light sensor not supported - see screen shot below:
Where as in the "White Paper on SK17" found on Sony's website [URL], at page 5, it says "Yes" against "Ambient Light Sensor".
My question is whether the sensor is there in the production version or not? It is there, then it appears the sensor in my handset is not working and needs repair/replacement under warranty?
After the recent update to 4.1.B.0.587, I observe that my display brightness fluctuates randomly, and this happens very often.
Each time I remove the battery and repositioning it(to change the sim card) i have to set time and date. is it a fault in my phone or is it just how my phone works? doesn't it have a second battery to run the clock in phone? my phone is a xperia mini pro(SK17i).ngerbread after updating into ic
Another thing. can i still re-install android gingerbread after updating into ice-cream sandwitch??
How does this work? As far as I can tell, it does nothing. I have it set "on" and I have seen no evidence at all that it has ever set the time.

View 5 Replies View RelatedMy X10 mini/pro hangs all the time. It hangs during following conditions -
1. Receiving calls - kept phone idle for some time. Getting a call on the phone.. and stuckkk!!! It hangs, just like that. Screen does not respond at all to the touches. And cannot pick the incoming call at all.
2. Already on a call - already on a call and get another incoming call.. trying to hold first call and pick up second. But again.. STUCKK!! Cant do anything since the screen does not repond.
When the phone hangs, cannot evne shut it down since shutting down requires you to hold the shut down button - which gives Menu (silent, airplane mode, shutdown etc.) and you cant select Shutdown option since the screen is not responding to touch.
So only thing you can do is remove the battery and put it back. This worked for some time, but now I have replace battery 2 to 3 times before the phone starts responding to touch again.
I read of some forums that other people too have faced this issue and even software/firmware upgrade has not worked. Is this issues due to a bad piece or with all X10 mini/pros?
I have Lumia 920 sim free and I have to set the time and date manually? how it can be done automatically?
View 14 Replies View RelatedI have the iphone 4S, and have had trouble with the automatic date/time and my ical reminders/appt. I live in Phoenix but the default time zone is Cupertino, and that doesn't change unless I switch it to manual. So after inputing events and reminders, and then have daylight savings happen, ( 1 hour difference between Phoenix and Cupertino) all my events/reminders changed that 1 hour as well. Is there any way to fix this without using the manual time zone function?

Since I updated the software on my phone, the SMS messaging crashes all the time.
It was pretty slow before, but now it's unusable. I have tried app killer applications and tried deleting messaging history but it just can't seem to handle a simple request.
I love this phone, there's no other phone out there with the same design and shape, but I'm getting seriously fed up as this is not the first problem I've had. I think I will try a different manufacturer next time - SE have let me down.
I put a new sim into my daughters xperia mini pro but after i turned the phone back on, the date was reset to 31/1/1980 and the time was 00.00. The phone is set to 'use network values' for the date and time so i cant understand why it is showing the wrong date and time

View 3 Replies View Relatedhow the automatic time update function works on the Nokia 701 and the like? Mine is enabled and seems to update when my phone connects to a data source (e.g. when retrieving email or when browsing websites) but the time retrieved seems to be about two minutes slow. Where does the phone get it's time signal from? Is this a network thing (i.e. it is Orange that is running slow) or does it obtain the time from a Nokia server?
Finally can I change the server it obtains the time from?
I know many 1320 users don't have the option for automatic time settings. I have it, but it is useless. I noticed my time was messed up while it was on, so I did a test. I changed the time 5 minutes back, and I turned on the automatic setting. I have data and location on. I checked an hour later, my time is still off the Microsoft server time with 5 minutes. Nothing happens.
View 2 Replies View RelatedSuddenly, the phone's clock started showing a time that was offset by two hours for my local time.
I deselected automatic time zone and auto date/time and set them manually. If I return it to automatic, it will show my precise location but the timezone and local time would be offset by two hours (earlier, not later).
Currently, I have auto date/time and selected my time zone automatically. It shows the right date and time but the screen showing my current position still shows the clock two hours behind.
I should like my BlackBerry to remove my old emails after a set time (which I input) - how do you set this up?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI can set the time manually just fine. But the phone isn't super accurate at time keeping so I wanted to set it to auto. But the option just isn't there.
I'm in the U.K with T-Mobile and switched from a Nokia 5530 which had the auto time option. No idea why I can't access it on this phone?
There is a setting to enable the RAZR to automatically keep its time correct by syncing with a time server somewhere on the internet. When I checked the time on my RAZR against my PC, where I have a service that sets the time from an atomic clock, I found that the RAZR was off by more than 14 seconds. I disabled the option and instead installed an app called "ClockSync" that sets the correct time. Unfortunately, the automatic time update setting is required by Verizon in order to login to My Verizon Mobile, so I either give up checking my data and call usage or I give up accurate time. This is very annoying. Can we get Verizon to use a reliable time server instead of whatever they are using now?
View 4 Replies View RelatedX10 Mini 2.1. How do yo set the correct time down to the right second? Whatever I try its like 30 seconds off. I try setting it 30 sec early compared to real time, and also 30 sec late. But it still changes minute when the real time says like 18:15:30 (hh:mm:sec). I am setting it to manual and Im using the TV as an indication for the exact time. But the phone always changes minute about 30 seconds wrong, no matter how I try.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI've had my mini pro for almost a year, and installing applications on it used to work perfectly fine. I haven't had the need to install any new apps for a while, but when I recently tried installing one, it failed. I've updated all software and there's enough space on the phone for the application(s) I wanted to install, yet it doesn't work. When I've purchased an application, it goes to install it, only to stop installing it after about 3-5 seconds without giving any notice or a reason why. It just stops. Updating apps already installed is no problem.

The Notification menu which comes down from the top keeps coming down all the time. When I am texting, viewing pictures, browsing my phonebook etc., and it stops me from using the phone how I want to use the phone. no matter where i touch on the screen it pops up. I have done the following with no avail:
I have upgraded the firmware. (this problem happened before and still continues after upgrade)I have turned the phone on and off countless times.I have locked the phone and unlocked it numerous times hoping it will go away...it doesn't. The phone has not been dropped or damaged in anyway - it is only 2 months old.
I set up a Gmail mailbox on my N86 phone using e-mail wizard (IMAP). It works fine in connecting to the Gmail, and send/receive e-mails. But my problem is with automatic retrieval; every time it wants to check my mailbox, it asks me to choose access point. That means automatically retrieval acts just like manual retrieval because if I am not there when it is trying to retrieve e-mails, it won't connect, so when I come to my phone, I just see a "Select connection" box giving me three options:
Search for WLAN Internet WAP services. My phone settings regarding to Access Point and Email configuration are as below:
Settings > Connection > Packet Data > Packet Data Connection > When Available
Settings > Connection > Destinations > Internet > 1 access point (default destination)
My access point setting says "Use access point = Automatically"
E-mail settings > Global settings : there is no configuration for access point or connection. The available options in this page:
1- Message list layout
2- Body text preview
3- Title dividers
4- Download notifications
E-mail settings > Mailbox settings:
Mailbox settings > My email address Mailbox name. My name Signature Advanced mailbox settings.
What to sync > Retrieve less than 2 KB Emails to retrieve IMAP4 folder path Folder subscriptions.
When to sync > Connection daysConnection hoursUpdate intervalRetrieve when abroad.
I listed my available settings because I noticed different options in different tutorials. Even my phone's manual has some different options than my phone. I didn't list WLAN options because I don't have any WLAN network. So to make it short, I want my phone to retrieve e-mails from my GMail account automatically, without asking me about connection and access point each time. BTW, my phone's web browser works fine, and makes connection when needed without asking me about the access point to use. I hope someone can suggest me a solution because I like this e-mail application in my new phone, but it is strange to me that it cannot use the default access point and always needs to ask me.
