Xperia X10 :: Delivering Text Messages To The Wrong Place?
Mar 25, 2011
My experia x10 has been delivering text messages to the phonebook of my phone - the only way I have know this (I havent even received a notification tone) is if I access the persons details and then click on message within the phonebook section. All other contacts are arriving in the normal way via the inbox, although I did have this blip a few months ago but seems to be happening again.
I asked this question earlier and was given an answer to either hold down on image and copy and paste or save the image to your download and then attach it to text.
i tried both and copy and paste did not work and when i downloaded the image, when i tapped on it, it said it could not open file.
My bbm was working fine till 2 days ago when suddenly all my messages stopped delivering. I'll get sporadic moments where I'll be able to send one or two but that's it. I haven't changed any of my settings.
the date and time are set though my text meassages for the last 5 days all come up under 14 June 2043 which is getting a little frustrating. I have tried deleting all the messages in tht hope that from then on messages recieved would show the right date but no joy.
I received a text from a contact and it was another contact who had sent the text! Now when my wife texts me, it comes through showing its from my son....after viewing message details, the number is my wifes, although if i reply it goes to my son! I'm using chomp and up to now have had very few problems with it. Is it my phone or the app?
I was texting with someone earlier today, I sent a text at 4:31 pm and they immediately responded but their text message was time stamped at 11:32 am.For some reason all of the texts I receive are time stamped as 5 hours earlier. The people I'm texting with are located in my same timezone, and the timezone is correct in the settings of my phone. It's set to automatic but I switched to manual and checked to see that the correct timezone was selected.
When i open maps it shows my location at list 200-300 km away. it is all wrong. Also other applications does same too. I Think there is something wrong with my gps system.
I have a Lumia 800 and have discovered a bug where the recipient name is wrong if contacts have very similar phone numbers. Example:
I have two contacts with the following phone numbers Contact 1. - 0703 246 802 Contact 2. - 0705 246 802 Note that the only thing differing the contacts is 0703 from 0705.
Regardless of whom of these two I send a text message they always show as being sent to Contact 1. This includes any History as well, they are all grouped into Contact 1 regardless of to which phone number I send the text message to. This is very annoying and it makes it impossible to see who actually had the message sent to when looking back at the history. I have tried moving the numbers around to different contact categories, changing contact name and so on, but it has made no difference to the behavior.
I just got a Motorola Defy (the Scandinavian version, with Android 2.2.2), and I'm very happy with it so far. However, there is a strange little bug in it: Every time I type ":-)" in a text message, it will be replaced with a "sad face" icon (). And every time I type a capital letter "B", it is replaced with a "sunglasses" icon () in the message.
When I click from either the "Notification" screen, or the Text Message List, I am directed to the wrong text messaging thread. This doesn't happen every time, it happens every day, and multiple times, however. Usually, when I reboot the phone, the problem is gone...momentarily.
It seems to happen with random messages. I use Universal Inbox and currently see message from text, Facebook, Twitter, Gmail and my AT&T mail.
If I use the stock Text Messaging app, I can open the list of messages and see whatever I can from the preview there, but when I click to open the thread, it will open a totally random message thread. Weird. I'm not that into text messaging, but it does annoy me when I need to use it and I can't open individual messages because the wrong ones are appearing.
I don't know if this is a device problem, a software/app problem, an AT&T messaging problem or what. I'm somewhat ignorant about smartphones and have only had this Atrix 2 for about three months.
How can I get a folder that puts all my calls in one place other then in the messages area? I upgraded from the 8330 and on there it had it's own special folder for call logging. Now on the bold it's combined in the msgs folder along with my emails.
My current text messages are being combined with old text messages, creating messages that don't reflect what I sent. The recipients of my texts are very confused....as am I when I get there response.
My SMS messages are sending fine to everybody, and have been since i had my blackberry 8900. This week it has been sending messages to this one number (by having a tick) next to the messages but is not showing a D by the message. The person is not getting the messages that i know of. Why is this as everybody else i text get a tick and the d symbol to show they are delivered?
I have recently bought the x8 smartphone but it has not been receiving text messages from other people, now i put the sim card into a different phone and tried that nothing wrong with the sim card that worked fine?
My xperia x10 has started to send text messages that I didn't write to one of my contacts!!!! All the messages are the same "Ppppp" Yesterday they all had a scrolling circle beside them and message details said unable to send sender unknown.I deleted them but they kept coming back at least a dozen of them at at random times. Today they are being sent. By each message there is a envelope with a clock icon. This is happening while the phone is not being used by anyone and is sitting on a table, so its not as if it is being touched by anything in my handbag or pocket.I was using the Handcent App but it was also happening in the installed messaging software. I have uninstalled Handcent and am using the supplied messaging programme. Also getting a lot of force closing messages when I try to send a genuine text.
My phone won't receive text messages. However I can send them.I first thought it was the sim card, so I got myself a replacement simcard from my provider (VOdafone NL) but that didn't work.
I need to print off all my text messages from my ex because shes taking me to court and is sprouting ******** left right and center, i have the proof on my phone from the messages she has sent me but i need to print them off for the police and the magistrate.
I successfully updated to the official Vodafone release using SEUS, loving the update so far but I've come across a problem with text messages.
Every couple of text messages they won't send and instead I get the message cannot be sent error. Trying repeated times has the same results then all of a sudden it will randomly work.
It can't be down to bad signal, last time the error came up I had full 'H' signal. I also tried Handcent to see if using an app would make any difference but it didnt. Are there any known bugs that sound like this
There has been way to many times where I have to restart my phone in order to get my text messages. One weekend I didn't get a single text I restarted my phone two days later and my phone blew up with all the messages coming through. Is this just my phone?Or did I ppurchase a defective phone?
I have a couple of contacts that I have sent a few text messages, yet am unable to reply them since the message reply box is missing. If I want to send them a new text message, I have to write a new one instead of replying. What could cause this issue? I can reply to most of my contacts. I had this issue on my previous Xperia phone as well.
I have owned this phone, a Sony Ericsson Xperia X8, for 3 months and in this time have experienced several instances of sending/receiving texts perfectly OK one minute, then all of a sudden with no explanation it stops allowing me to send/receive texts. This often goes unnoticed by me for several hours because everything looks as it should on the phone, full signal etc. It is not until I go to send a text at some point that I notice it won't send, just keeps saying sending (I know when it has been sent because I get message from O2 telling me my pay and go balance plus the message gets stamped with the time it has been sent).I have to keep on removing the battery and the sim card, then reinserting the sim card and battery before it will work.
I have a fairly long stream of text messages with one person on my Xperia X8 that I wish to keep but I also need to get the messages off my phone as it is getting increasingly slow to open them now. Is there any way of backing up text messages, either through PC Companion or with Astro?
