the thing is that when i stay on one app for a bit or i leave my phone about doing nothig on it, it seems my outside function keys (ie. settings, menu, back button) won't work! i've read about how the x10 has unresponsive keys to it bu i never thought that i'd have to turn my phone on an off 10 times just to look at my face book!

View 6 Replies View RelatedYesterday my Xperia started having what's described as the "ghost touch" issue.After shutting the phone down, nothing was looking better. At this point, when I boot up the phone, I can enter my sim-pin, start the camera by the dedicated button and touch objects to focus. I can also select things in the restart/shut down menu. However, the lock sceen is all but responsive. The fact that I have partial touchscreen functionality gives me the hope that the problem is software related rather than a hardware issue. However, since I can't get past the lock screen, it's also impossible for me to reboot the phone to factory settings.

For my older phones, when that happens. I would normally plug out the battery but Z5 premium does not allow that at all.

In the past couple of days, I am having trouble with the touchscreen on my Neo V. It does not respond as well as it did before. For instance, the slide unlock takes 3 times to slide before actually unlocking. The upper notifications bar does not get pulled down easily. And while scrolling, I end up opening something appearing on the screen wherever the finger is touching while scrolling. All this did not happen before. I performed a system test as well, which does not really show any problem with the touchscreen. Restarting the phone did not help either. What could be the issue then?

Can move the Home, Back and Recent buttons down off the screen? I have seen this option on the Oneplus One as a setting - device - buttons that is on the lollipop version too. I find this layout most annoying on the Z5 E6683 as it gets in the way of most apps and reduces the actual space available on screen.

I do not have a case on my phone which could affect the use of the buttons.The strange thing is that I have had the phone sent for repair under my insurance policy. It comes back working fine. The problem only seems to reoccur when i go out.Phone works fine in the house but as soon as I travel half a mile away the buttons stop working. If I switch the phone off then on again they start to work but if I'm still moving (eg in the car) they stop again. Once I become stationary either at home or work, they work fine until I move again.

Though sony decided to discriminate the Indian users by not giving the noise cancellation head or the LTE model ....considering its 50K phone here ... which is not cheap
Aside from what mentioned above there are 2 more things that’s bother me...
1. There are some bloatware on the phone provided by sony but there are no options to uninstall them.
2. While on call nothing else works the soft keys gets disabled, you can’t type a msg the keyboard doesn’t come up. This was how it was in my Z as well. In the forum some people mentioned that it got resolved in the 4.3 update, however i don’t think it is yet.
Soft keys doesn't work but some time its work i have to touch again and again to click home and back button , when i open camera application even i cant go back because there bottom dots not clickable and not working on my mobile, i factory reset my mobile using pc compaing too but still i have that problem, and chekced using safe mode.

Th problem is that the slide out keyboard mapping is probably wrong or some setting needs to be done.When I press a key with "?" on the slideout keyboard I get a ":" on the screen. This happens for other symbols also Numbers and alphets are correct only the symbols are messed up.

I want to disable it because I often use apps, and accidentally touch these keys, it's becoming really annoying. With the first store, I had it replaced TWICE on that SAME DAY because of the issue of it, XPERIA ST15i, activating its home and back keys by itself. For the third replacement because of the same issue, it ended with a refund. So I went to another store to buy another one, and luckily, that malfunction doesn't manifest anymore. Now, after about 2 weeks, that malfunction started to have its episodes again. The menu and back keys are now activating themselves whenever I'm using an app, or just the browser.
