Xperia X10 :: Cannot Get Windows Or PC Companion To See SD Card
Sep 28, 2010
Plugged the phone into the computer (Vista 32), installed PC Companion, Media Go, etc. PC Companion agreed that I had an X10 mini connected. Sync worked. Media go didn't/doesn't recognise any device. Had a look at what Windows thought - it thought I had a CD-ROM plugged in, and advised me to load a disk. Tried a different USB port. This time windows helpfully installed the appropriate drivers for my device - Floppy Disk drivers. When it is not attached to a computer, the phone advises that it has available space of 1.84GB on an SD card. I have since:
- Updated the phone (from the phone, via wifi)
- Reinstalled PC Companion from the website (instead of from the SD card)
- Tried a different SD card (that I know is good) - nothing.
All I really want is to transfer a few photos and bits of music from my computer to the phone.
I have more than one computers at home and mine computer have server-based OS Windows 2008. When I tried to install PC Companion it installs fine but at first start it tells me that it installing drivers and in never ends.. So my question is equal subject - is PC Companion compatible with Windows 2008?
MY x10 mini pro will not install PC Companion to my Pc running Windows XP.The intstallation runs but each time it will return to the beginning screen. How do I install this on my PC?
The software on my SD card got accidentally deleted. MY phone does nor prompt to install PC Companion when I connect it to New PC /Notebook. How do I get it back to to my SD card ?
I cannot install PC companion from either of two laptops - am just getting "404 - not found". Might this be a security/firewall problem? I am running Kaspersky anti-virus plus Tune-up Utilities.
When I connect my phone with my pc via pc software "PC Companion", it did not recognise my device, driver MTP didnt install in pc.how can i connect with pc companion.
I can't install PC companion 2.10.027 on my Windows 7 Ultimate / 64bit system.Until this version was released I was using version 2.02.002 and it was OK. Recently, the update to the new versin was requested and it failed. After this, I have uninstalled the old version, so now I can't use any version of PC companion .I was trying many times to install the new version using Startme.exe on my phone and the downloaded PC Companion_2.10.027_Web.exe. The result was always the same - the installation was starting by displaying the title page of the new version and then was dying after a few seconds. When I reinstall version 2.02.002, it installs successfully, but before allowing to be used, it demands the update to the latest version, which, of course fails.I was trying to switch off all my firewall before the installation (without any change ).After each installation failure, the system log shows some error in NewUI.dll.
i installed pc companion from the web, then i click en any function, a windows go out, and said: this aplication can be installed, try later; i installed from the cell phone too, whit the same result.
I am using 2.3.4 and I have no plans of using ICS on my xperia neo (SI :1246-9893). My query is if I continue use GB 2.3.4 and some time if I need to reinstall same GB 2.3.4 then can I able to update with update service or PC Companion???As per my knowledge it will always point to latest update. But I want to keep GB 2.3.4 as along as I am happy with it
During the firmware update process on PC Companion, I deliberately unplugged the phone and my PC now no longer recognizes the phone for performing an update again. Tried installing the firmware, holding the Back key while plugging into the computer etc but still it does not appear as connected. All I can see again and again is a block of color appeared at the bottom of the screen as shown in the photo attached. Have tried a hard reset by holding the left, right and power button at the same time but did not help too.
I decided to update my software on my xperia x10... so i tried to open my pc companion and remembered why i hadnt updated it before ... because the pc companion will not work! so i downloaded the pc companion again and guess what, it doesnt work.It downloads fine and then when i try to run it, it says "you must close all programs and restart your computer before running this program". so i do this and try again and it still says "you must close all programs and restart your computer before running this program".I have spent the last three hours resarting my computer making sure all my programs were shut.
Would anyone be able to assist, since it doesn't seem like you can open a support call directly with SE. I am simply trying to update my Experia X10 software and even though I am connected to the internet (and can browse and download anything from anywhere) I can't use the PC Companion software to update my phone. So I uninstalled it and reinstalled it (ver 2.0) and still it fails. It simply says 'unable to install or start phone software update components.'
I've used PC companion to update my X10 to Android 2.1. I've gone through all the steps and phases and the software is telling me it's up to date yet there are no changes to my phone at all except the wiping of all my files that I've backed up. The phone is still on 1.6, I still have only 3 home screens and everything else is the same. I've gone through the update twice now and nothing has changed.
this morning i have received an update of 4.1.B.0.431 in my pc companion but when i go fo r updating using pc companion in my laptop this error shows:Unable to install or start phone software update components?
my number SI 1255-8250 was already on the list, but still I cannot update via PC Companion, I'm from Chile and I have a neo V, my operator is Entel, contact them and does not intend to update, as I can get the latest update?
I would like to know do i need to update 2.1 in order to update 2.3.3 or Malaysia haven release 2.3.3? Because i cannot get 2.3.3 update using PC companion instead i get 2.1 update.
Using PC Companion for the first time. Downloaded from official site, it gets installed and get connected to phone. But the inner part remains blank. I dont use proxy but have tested proxy settings and it says it PC Companion succeded to access the internet.I dont understand why it is blank. Any alternative available? So far, I have tried everything in this forum - 1) Uninstalled and installed 4 times2) Regedit trick for Internet Zone setting3) Turned off Antivirus and firewall
I get to the step of inserting the usb cable, while holding the back button, and nothing happens. except three beeps and the phone restarts. All firewalls and virus programs have been disabled. Latest version of Java (6-23) has been downloaded and presently running Windows XP Home Edition (32)
I can't synchronize my X10 (Andoid 2.1) with PC Companion via bluetooth despite being able to synchronoze the same phone with the same software (PC Companion). I start PC Companion and select to connect the phone via bluetooth and following the on-line instruction and manage to pair the phone but recieve an error message almost directly that PC Companion is not able to connect to the phone at this time and I am asked to try again later. According to X10 the pairing is succesful.
I have tried with two different computers with exactly the same result. When I check for software updates both the phone and PC Companion are reported to be of the latest versions. Furthermore, I have another phone, a SE Satio, and I am able to succesfully sync the Satio with the same laptop and the same PC Companion software; this indicates to me that the problem is not with the laptop, bluetooth or PC Companion. It strongly indicates a bug in the X10.
I'm getting really, really frustrated. PC Companion use to detect my phone, but no longer does. I've connected by bluetooth, but this is inconsistent. I know the drivers are downloaded with PC Companion, but uninstalling, installing, searching for drivers hasn't worked.
PC Companion will detect my phone and download the updates but the problem is that when it asks me to turn off the phone and reconnect the USB cable (with back button pressed) i then get the PC's 'found new hardwear wizard' come up and ask me about installing new drivers, so i say yes- check online for updates and it then says there is a problem because the drivers may not be for Win XP x64 Pro, so nothing is installed.Meanwhile with PC Companion nothing happens.I have tried this several times to make sure i haven't made any mistakes, the only conclusion i can reach is that PC Companion doesn't work properly with my OS.
I have just updated to the latest PC Companion software and am trying to sync contact and calenda data with Google via the 'Sync Zone'. Contacts sync works fine however the calendar sync caused PC cpmanion to crash every time. It says it is reading the PC (Outlook) data and counter reaches 1024 calendar appointments and crashes every time. Even when I tell it so sync just the calendar and only 1 week either side of now it still counts up to 1024 and crashes.I am using Windows 7 and an Xperia X10i with the lasted SE updates.
i can't install the PC companion 2.00.146. i already downloaded it but when its time to install it it says "Error Number: 0x80040707. Description: DDL function call crashed: NewUI.ISGlobalSubclassDialog." i already downloaded it 5 times assuming that maybe the PC companion was not downloaded properly but again the same problem occurs.
