I am trying to order the contacts in the contact list by the last name and I don't find the button to do this...
My phone: Sony Experia pro OS Build number: 4.0.2.A.0.69
My brand new phone won't place contacts in alphabetical order in my sub groups. My total contacts list both online and in phone are fine, but my quick access groupings of my contact list are in random order! No one seems to know how to correct short of hard reset.... IT's A WEEK OLD!!btw, online those groups are in alphabetical order.

Once upon a time I used to prefix contact names with special characters so that I could sort by different types in the contact list.
I then got my N73 with contact groups, so I used those instead and did away with the prefixes in the names.
The N73 let me quickly switch from the full contact list to the groups tab, so that I could then select the appropriate group and find the contact within it that I wanted.
Now I've 'upgraded' to an E72, I still have Groups, but they buried in the the full contact list in alphabetical order, so I can't select them quickly.
To make matters worse, there's no use reverting back to my ol prefixing strategy, because special characters (non alphanum) now seem to be ignored as part of the collating sequence, so I cannot easily influence the order of entries.
ordered an iphone 4s yesterday, but i've still got no confirmation mail. is it because it's weekend? i admit i'm starting to get a bit nervous, because when checking my order list there are no orders on my user neither. though, i signed up when completing the order of the phone. did it take a while before you got the confirmation mail or did I really mess this up?

I was wondering if the X10 can do the same as my last android Hero, which basically link the facebook info contact to my related phone contact, including the picture. I guess this wont need any hardware, but software. Has this improvement being asked or is it planned for future updates?

After adding a new contact, it does not integrate into the contacts list. It just sits at the top of the list.

View 1 Replies View RelatedThis has probably been covered, but i recently went to update OS to the 5.0, but while it was loading, the thing crashed and said a fatal error had occured. i had to go back to an older version, 4.6 i think, and now my contacts will not go in the contact list. I see them on my sim card, but when i try to copy all contacts to my contact list, it copies 1 contact, 8 times. its the damndest thing i have ever seen. i did not do a backup before the new install, my fault, but now i cannot get my contacts in my list. Has anyone had this problem or even heard of such. I called tech support, the only thing they said was it was probably a bad sim card, and to take it to the local repair store.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI have a new problem to update with FP2. Suddenly last evening I noticed that all my contacts are showing as unnamed, although their details are intact. Just the names are missing. The whatsapp favorites/contacts list looks fine and the contact search before making a call is also identifying the contacts. The names have disappeared only from the master contacts list. I tried doing the usual restart couple of times.Also did a Nokia sync but the issue hasn't been resolved. I'm worried about restoring the backup lest the problem remains.

For instance the name doesn't match the picture or the name and picture do not match the related cell no. (1) How do I delete the contact entirely? (2) How do I edit the related info? The entries in my contact list were created on the phone. I did not import it or sync it with anything. But I cannot edit the contact. I go to phonebook, pick a contact, click edit, then I get the "Contact not found: This contact was not found in the Work Email contact list". I have no idea what this mean.

I've worked out how to manually sync contacts profile pics from FB onto my contacts list, but it won't let me do it on my own contact details.
