Xperia PLAY :: Display Does Not Work When Portrait

Suddenly my xperia has stopped working when i try to interact with it when the game pad is not open. i can lock it, but on unlocking the display simply shows me a pixelated screen and it is un-usable. However the phone functions normally when i slide the game pad out, i can send and recieve texts, the display and touch screen work fine i'm not sure what to do and cant think why this would happen because the phone functions perfectly when the game pad is out.

I recently reinstalled the Facebook app because my old one could not locate my place to do a check-in. The new app will only display in portrait, which limits me to using a tin keyboard (not why I went with a Storm). It also will only scroll in reverse and the touch screen is very uncooperative. No other apps are this horrible. Why can't the app display in landscape as the old one did, giving me the full keyboard and NORMAL scrolling?

I purchased a used BlackBerry Storm 9530 from a co-worker of mine who has just upgraded to a Motorola Droid & I have to say that it was the BEST thing that I have ever done. I LOVE THIS PHONE. I am due for an upgrade & I can't decide if I want to go ahead & get the Storm 2 or wait to see when the Storm 3 may be released.Anyways, I've been checking out the forums here & have gotten some really good tips/advice. In a lot of the threads, users talk about 'memory leaks'. Can someone tell me what this means???Also, sometimes when I am using my phone, the display does not want to go from portrait back to landscape & vice versa no matter how slowly I turn the phone. Am I doing something wrong or is it just the phone?

I have a 9 month old Xperia Play through Verizon, about a week ago, I started having this intermitten porblem where the display wouldn't wake up by using the power button or the home button. Sometimes it works on a single press, other times it takes multiple presses. occassionally it refuses to wakeup at all, forcing me to pull the battery. I have already tried a settings reset and begrudgingly follwed up with a factory reset, which of course whipped 9 months of data away. Neither reset process had any affect. I have really grown attached to this phone and would hate to lose it

My z3 is abt 6 months old. Recently I locked my phone and tried unlocking it but the screen never turned on though I can see the screen lighting up a bluish colour but the display doesn't appear. I have to switch off the phone for around half an hour and restart for it to work.

I also am IportingMusic Albums into Media Go, and some Albums have their cover some don't.I have found if you tap on the Album and go to properties you can add Album Art work.But still some albums refuse to pick up the art work,or they dont have the option to show properties,WHY?

I cannot type the letter "t" when phone is in portrait orientation. will only work when phone is in landscape.This causes some problems as some apps do not change orientation so when the "t" is needed to be entered it cannot be carried out

It sometimes mounts but then it crashes.but it hasn't mounted for a few days now .Ive tried reseting , turning the phone off and going on the computer to see if the computer recognises the sd card but nothing works .what happened and how can i fix it?

My xperia-play has been updated to Android 2.3.3 by pc companion from 2.3.2, however, the "home screen" is still upright↑ instead of horizontal ↔ if I circumvolve the phone.In Sony Ericsson the new update will give : New themes and Landscape mode for your home screen. I don't get them.

Have loved this phone been envy of all my friends for ages then I updated it.
The vutual sticks now seems to have stopped working, games don't even register they are there. Also the screen is playing up too, when it screen closes down, no matter how hard I press power button screen hardley ever comes in to life. Sometimes I can swip to unlock and can feel the phone vibrate as if something happaning but screen never comes alive. I now have to remove battery to restart.
I've tried doing a complet re load and took everything back to default but nothing.
I'm getting near the end of my tether, as I don't want to ahve to send my phone off for 2 weeks as I've got no replacement! Stupidly I sold my old phone.

The touch sensor seemed got position at letter w of the keyboard in portrait screen. It works in landscape mode only. Had tried all types of keyboards. They all behave the same. Unable to type letter "w"
Another problem is unable to answer call sometimes. The possition of the green button is around the letter "w". It's not responding whEn I tried to tap and drag the green button to answer incoming call.

I have a problem very similar to this [URL] but i am not using flash. White stripe only shows when light is coming direct to camera from a light source like fluorecent lamp and from a particular angle.Stripe shows in both portrait and landscape mode and always at same place. I am attaching 2 photos 1 taken in landscape and other in portrait.I have a protecting cover but it is not covering the camera lens.

I think other z3 devices do not have this issue as i have searched a lot but i only found 1 other person facing this issue and i have shared the link above. Why this stripe shows on photos? Is it a known issue? Should i claim warranty?

I have a sony xperia mini pro running on android 4.04 and I am not able to drag down the notification area when I am holding the mobile in portrait mode. If I shift to landscape mode (by sliding the qwerty keyboard out), then when I press at the top status bar, I can drag the notification area down. I already tried reformatting my phone and update but still the same.

I have purchased a x 10 mini pro couple of days ago.I have noticed that the screen orientation is not changing from portrait to landscape mode when i turn the mobile.it works when i slide out the keypad.this happened after the upgrade to 2.1. I have checked the settings>dispaly>screen orientation option. Should I take it to service centre?

I have got an Sony z3 and was using it fine for the last 8-7months,the problem is touch icon in my mob doesn't respond works once in a blue moon. homebutton, backbiting and the another button used to close opened apps also don't work, it may if click for nearly 20-25times.
Second problem: I can't scroll down the notification bar in portrait mode,it works in landscape mode.this was the first which had araised in my phone and later the home screen buttons.

Got myself an Sony Xperia Z5 not to long ago and i must admit I am very pleased by its performance and battery life. As webdesigner i ran into an problem which only occurs on my Xperia Z5. All other mobile brands don't have this problem with the page im working on.
The issue: when changing from landscape to portrait or vice versa, the content doesn't increase in size properly. Before i start digging deep i like to know if this has something to do with the Xperia settings?

I have a few Vietnamese song albums with album names, song names and singers are all in Vietnamese characters (unicode fonts). These albums have no problem showing it correct Vietnamese characters when played by Google Play Music app on my HTC M8 (running stock Android 6.0).
However, when I transferred these albums to my new Nexus 6P, names of the albums, songs and singers are not displayed correctly. Some, or all, characters are "replaced" by some strange characters (looks like Chinese, Koreans... characters). This causes one album now become a number of different albums (sharing the same album cover, but different names due to its album names are now spelled differently. Same problem happens if you sort by singers (one singer now becomes more than one).
PS. English song albums are not affected by this.

had my play for a few months now and love it. However, when i play Battlefield two and attempt to use both touch pads to move about, the game freezes and locks up until i cease touching the two game pads. FYI, im using the stock launcher and i recently reboot the phone so the stock games were deleted. its a canadian phone on the Rogers network. Should i just bring the phone in?
