Aug 27, 2011I am using Android 2.3.3. Alarm ringtone can't set to "None". it will set to default ringtone instead. Could I set volume for individual alarm?

May 26, 2011I set my wife's contact with a custom ringtone. Sometimes when she calls, the phone plays the custom ringtone. Sometimes she calls, and it plays the default ringtone.
I check the settings, and the custom tone is still set correctly. And the ringtone is on the phone, not on the memory card.
Today I noticed that when this happened, the phone started ringing the default tone while her cell number appeared on the screen, before the phone detected it was the contact with her name. Could it be that the phone delayed recognizing her number as being on the contact list, and therefore played the default tone?

Aug 13, 2015I believe this happened after I upgraded the phone to the latest version. At first I did not have i ringtone at all, but after I fixed that the phone only plays the original tone. I have the same problem with the message tone. I even tried to put a specific tone to a specific contact. No difference
Here is a screenshot of the sound options where you can see that I have changed the ringtone to "Trap Android" and the message tone to "Ping":

May 12, 2015I recently upgraded from the S3 to the S5. It seems that the alarm volume and the ringtone volume are directly linked. As in, if my ringtone is set to mute, my alarm wont sound.
I haven't been able to figure out a way to bypass this. I'd like to have my alarm sound even when the ringtone is set to mute or vibrate.

Jan 11, 2010My previous Nokia 9500 and E90 both played ringtone and alarm tones from main phone speakers even when connected to a bluetooth headset, but the N900 seems to re-direct all sounds exclusively to the headset.This is a problem since there are times when I remove the headset and then I miss calls and alarms unless I disconnect the bluetooth headset each time. It is not convenient to have to repeatedly connect and disconnect the bluetooth device.Is there any hope that this is not the intended functional design, and that it may be changed in the future? Currently, the N900 is not proving to be useful for me as a telephone.

Sep 21, 2012I have had a problem with texts not always going off for atleast a month now, sometimes a battery pull works, other times not. Now my alarm isn't going off. Again it's not always and battery pulls only sometimes fix the issue. I have checked the options for the alarm and text and when I click 'try it' it says 'invalid ring tone selected' which makes no sense, I have changed it from the phone's default tones and to music stored on my phone which I know plays in the music player and neither works.

Dec 21, 2011My phone got updated to 2.3.5 and sense UI 3 yesterday and I face this problem where I'd be listening to music, playing games and hearing the phone ring when suddenly it would go dumb and I can't hear anything. This happens with no error message or notification. The phone think it's playing media and allows me to adjust the media volume but there's no sound (speaker or earphones). I have to restart the phone every time this happens but the problem keeps happening randomly.

Feb 4, 2011I've had my E72 since July '10 and everything's been fine, but recently something rather odd happened. I don't know whether it would be connected to the problem in the title of this thread, but I woke up yesterday - after leaving my phone on, as I always do, and it was pretty much fully charged - and the battery was drained, and my recently dialled/received calls had disappeared. As strange as that was, I dealt with it because it wasn't a huge deal. However, I have since discovered something else.
I changed my alarm ringtone from one of the many ones I have manually put on my phone to off, so I would just be woken by a vibration. Upon trying to put it back to my custom tone, as I have done hundreds of times, I've discovered that all of the songs that I've manually put on my phone don't come up on the list of ringtones available for my alarm, which I find odd. Only the default/preset ones are available.
I quite liked my alarm tone, it was the song used to wake up the characters in Inception!

however, I discovered that, the alarm in 5800XM allows only one music file being selected as the alarm tone,moreover, even when a song is selected, it would be played for may be 30 sec / 1 min sth when alarm activated,which means, it cannot plays the whole song till it finished before 5800XM went back to silence again,
I have searched over the internet for any tips or any S60 software to take that task,unluckily, there seems to be none of them works,here, I sincerely hope that someone could suggest a solution for me, such that.I CAN USE THE ALARM on 5800XM to PLAY a PLAYLIST exactly like how ipod's alarm function can do.

Jan 28, 2012Sometimes the ringtone I have set for the profiles does not play when a caller rings me. I have set the rintone as the same for all profiles (Classic phone), and sometimes that ringtone plays, but not always for every contact. Sometimes the phone plays 'Spirit' instead, and I have noticed that if I edit any of my contacts (that have not had a special ringtone given to it), the ringtone is 'Spirit', so what should a contact show in the ringtone selection part, if no special ringtone has been selected by me.

When I click on the person I want to call it brings it up like it is going to call them but instead of ringing them it just plays the ringtone. It even plays the special ringtone if I have assigned the person one on my phone but it never actually calls them. The only way I can make calls again once it starts is to power off the phone and power it back on.

They can not hear me though, but I can hear them either saying hey pick up the phone, coughing, drinking water, what ever you do on the phone before the person answers.

However, when i play Battlefield two and attempt to use both touch pads to move about, the game freezes and locks up until i cease touching the two game pads.
