Since this is a Windows Phone forum and since Microsoft is doing the whole 'Windows on 3 screens thing' I figured I'd post this here.Since Windows 8 is now available are you getting it? If so are you getting the update or are you buying a new PC/building one from scratch?Personally, my laptop is getting kind of old and I'd like to replace it and my desktop with a quad-core model though I'll probably wait till next year.
I have BB Desktop Manager 5.0.1 and I am un able to syncronize my Contacts with Windows Live Mail from Windows 7. The only options the Desktop Manager offers are: Outlook Express, Importad./Exportad. ASCII adn Yahoo.
I'm trying to download my music but WP8 uses the Windows Phone App client in Windows 8. Wll, when I tried connecting my phone, it says "Your phone is having troubles" error message. The instruction says to power off the phone. But no luck. Tried searching MS community but nothing there (but I won't rule out I didn't search well. Also, I posted the same question there and waiting for a response.)
This might be a silly question, but is there video calling capability on the LG Quantum or on any windows 7 phone? Skype hasn't made anything yet but is there anything there at all in the video calling realm?sent from my LG-C900 via the HowardForums WP7 App?
I am trying to download apps from the marketplace and use other things that use Live. Whenever I try to download an app, I get "The Windows Phone Live ID service is unavailable right now. Try again later". I have tries to reenter my live ID password and restarted my phone. Sent from my SGH-i917 via the HowardForums WP7 App?
For a few years now, businesses have been looking for a replacement device for the unfortunately slowly dying Blackberries they have been using since about a decade. In the past few years the iPhone has gained some ground on that aspect, as a lot more businesses have started supporting in-house use of the device. Android on the other hand, as flexible, versatile and capable as it may be, has it's share of challenges for a business that cannot be overlooked. Such as fragmentation, the extremely wide variety of devices and their features, etc. For those reasons, I don't see Android being widely adopted in the business market in the next few years.
However with the announcement of Windows Phone 8, and the new business friendly features that are coming,R() I think we could see a turnaround as business slowly, perhaps VERY slowly, start to adopt Windows Phone as their trusted OS for the enterprise. This could be Windows Phone's saving grace, as it has been for RIM for a very long time. Although, if and when Microsoft grabs a good chunk of business smartphone marketshare, hopefully it will also give them a boost of interest for the consumer part of the equation. Because with these new features, Windows Phone is just as good a business device than a consumer device.
Also, don't forget about how many different Microsoft products are used in the vast majority of enterprises : Windows for Desktops, Windows Server, Office, Sharepoint, Exchange, etc. are all products that are ...EXTREMELY present in the industry. This translates into Microsoft begin known as a very "trusted" company, and any product coming from them is assumed to have a certain level of quality and business-friendliness to it.
As the title says-(and just moved over from the Apple world yesterday, btw). Connected the G3 to my x64 Windows 7 PC - "loading drivers" - my G3 will charge from the PC, but it doesn't "see" it so I can transfer files. Have been reading about MPT - but don't have the option to turn it on from the >settings>storage screen. (Doesn't seem to appear anywhere on the phone, actually)....
I have 2 710s and I wonder if the 8GB is enough for storage. I'm new to smart phones so all this storage stuff is new to me. On one of our phones, we have 387MB available and on another, 1.37GB. We recently got the phones and have basically DL'ed some apps, games, in Nokia maps (our state and nearby states). No music, haven't emailed any, no texts.
Anyone else run into low storage or space on their 8GB phones?
I tried the connection Setup application with my HTC HD7s phone, and my mms still isn't working. I'm not sure what coding I should put for the APN. I have tired multiple things. SO what should I enter for.
I would like to update my e71 from firmware 200. to 400. - but I do not own a copy of Windows.I have tried defining a server as detailed here http://www.nokia.co.uk/support/download-software/device-software-update/faq#faq17 but that does not seem to work - is this method still supported? I just get 'Operation Cancelled by the Server' both when I connect via the LAN or by 3g.How do us non-Windows users update our phones, please?
I just bought a new pc, so I've installed Windows 7 x64. Everything ok, but when I tried to install Nokia PCSuite (last version), It start my problems: the installation was ok, but when the software tried to install Nokia 78 Usb drivers, I got errors about some part of the driver can't be installed (like N78 Usb generic, N78 OBX, etc...).
I tried also to remover and clean with the Nokia PcSuite remover, and install Ovi (even last version), but the problems was the same.
With Bluetotth works, but it give me also some connection problems.
N78 have the last firmware, and it works fine with Vista (or XP).
know if Nokia will allow the N9 to be upgradable to the Windows version running on the new Lumia 800? The Lumia looks suspiciously very similar to the N9 so I assume potentially this may be a possibiliy. My wife has the N9 & we both really like the phone but the MeeGo OS is no longer supported so a dead end. Syncing contacts/calender entries is also a pain on the N9.I'm using the E7 as I use it for my daily work, at least I can use a real keyboard & can sync contacts/calendars with outlook but I do prefer the user interface & operation of the N9.
I know that the new PwnageTool 4.0 is out and i have a 3G S with the old bootrom, how do I install 4.0 if Im on windows.is there a tool for windows so I can JB to then use ultrasn0w for unlock.I have no access to a Mac.
I just got the new iPhone. I'm still using Tiger 10.4.11 on my MacBook Pro.I plugged my new phone in to the computer and it said that the phone isn't compatible with my version of OSX. I didn't think this would be a problem since my iPhone 3G works just fine with it. I know I can buy a new version of OSX, but after spending £450 on the phone, I'm not really in a position to afford the £132 it's going to cost me to upgrade (Apple website says I need to go for the Mac Box Set, and not just Snow Leopard) at the moment.
This isn't my main question, but if I was to ask someone who already has the Mac Box Set for a copy of the disk, would it install on my Mac, or do I have to buy it myself? Sorry if that's a silly question. If I was to set up my new phone on the PC I have here, I wouldn't be able to then plug it back into my Mac, would I? All my music and contact info etc is stored on my Mac so it'll be a major hassle to have to start all over again on the PC.And also, say if I did start using this on the PC, when I do eventually get Snow Leopard, do I have to start all over again if I want to go back to using the phone with my Mac?
I cant sync my contacts on my blackberry 8520 Curve with my computer which has Windows 7,I've tried all I could. Its syncs with Windows Contacts but Windows Contacts is not available on Windows7
I've tried uninstalling all the usb drivers and re-installing them, I've installed (multiple times) the latest 6.1 desktop manager. I've tried different cables and different usb ports but I can't get my pc to recognise my phone.
Every time I plug in my phone to my mac, the phone offers me to install the PC software. My computer always says that it doesn't recognize the software. I haven't seen what the PC software actually is, but I'm assuming that it makes transferring files between the devices quite simple. Because I have no software to transfer files, the only way I can transfer files is to open up the original hard files of the memory card. This makes things very difficult because there are important folder deep inside the card and I don't want to risk messing up anything important. Are there any software programs for the Mac that work with the Sony Ericsson Xperia X10?
Get this every time I go into the sign in options. I put my pin in to unlock it but then get blocked again I'd I try to use hello again. Windows hello hadn't worked in the 8 days I've had the phone.
I cant get the back, windows and search bar to go away while viewing things. Does it just go away after a while? I can get it if I need come back out of an app so I can back out of things.

I currently am using Windows 7 Ultimate and Professional, and I tried to download the latest BitPim 1.0.6 and even the 1.0.7 software and it would not work properly. Is there a better piece of software that I can use for my LGvx8350 on Windows 7 so that I may transfer my files and upload my ringtones, etc?
I am looking for an emulator for windows so that i can test out software functionality of the device. So far i know that rim releases such emulators for its devices and i'm hoping i can find one f or HTC Hero.If you would happen to know anything please let me know. Thank You.
I have been using WM phones for several years and one of the most important things in my daily usage is Outlook integration of tasks to WM and alerts that go with them.Has anyone seen how tasks are integrated in the new UI?I have seen several videos but none showing details on the task integration or reminders.
I have a problem with my Htc (Verizon) XV6900. It was working until last morning, when I check it. After death... It won't turn on, I try everything. I Also try to reset it (soft and hard) but nothing. The battery is good, and was around 40% of charge. I tried also to recharge it, but nothing, no light turn on (red and amber). But I notice that in the back between the USB port and the battery it became warm, I don't remember this before.
