Sony Ericsson :: USB Port Becoming Loose Anyone Else Had This?
Oct 6, 2010
I have noticed this last few days that the USB charging port under the little flap on the side of the phone has started to move a little. The phone will still charge it, but is quite arkward. I must place the phone gently and not touch it whilst the little red light is on. I am ultra careful when it comes to these USB charging ports as I know how tempremental they can be. But, it seems my careful nature has not stopped what I hoped would not happen. As I say, the phone will charge atm, but I feel it wont last. After noticing this problem, I googled it and it appears MANY others have experienced the same problem of the socket inside the phone coming out with the charger, So I doubt it coincidence.I studied the charger supplied with the phone to find 2 small flexible grips on the plug, obviously to hold the plug into the socket, but no button or latch on the plug housing to retract these grips upon removing it, The only way to get the plug out is to pull it out. I feel that after many a charge, most of these ports are going to come loose, with constant tugging of the grips on the socket housing. Furthermore, I have also read that Sony will not repair this fault, deeming it un-intentional cosmetic damage and design flaw damage, not covered by the warranty. It appears as though the charging socket will fall out of my phone, deeming it un-chargable and so, un-usable which to me is at no fault of my own and Sony would do nothing about it.Could someone shed some light on this issue for me please? Might i be able to have my Phone repaired?
I recently debranded my C905a and I want to know if anyone knows for a fact that if by doing so I have reduced my phone's ability to mainain a decent reception signal. If I remeber correctly, I had the same problem before I debranded. I've called Sony Ericsson about the low reception strength and they told me that it was a network problem. I know that is not true b/c before the C905a, I was using a Nokia 2610 (a cheapie until I could upgrade) and that phone always had a signal virtually anywhere and I can count on 1 hand how many dropped calls I had using that phone. I do live out in a semi-rural area but, my mother has a Nokia 6555 (I live w/ her) and she does not have the problem with dropped calls like I do. But, w/ the C905a, I have to put the phone on speaker 3/4 of the time b/c when I put the phone to my ear, it simply looses all reception. The closer to the city I get, the reception problem becomes less an issue.
I brought my Vivaz a while ago. The display somehow had a loose connection so it went back to the shop. A while later I got it back, but it started to do this annoying thing, not turning on and it went very slow, but I assume thats because the memory card was almost full. Well, now when I want to turn it on, the white "sony ericsson" screen comes up and a little vibration, and nothing more. When I set it to charge, the red light and the "sony ericsson" screen comes, but after a while I still cant turn it on. When I set it to my computer nothing happens but it "charges" again and the little charge icon never comes up when it charges either. Just the screen I have mentioned and the little red light in the side of the phone.
I'm new here and finding it dificult to find out where to post questions? not sure if I'm in the correct section or not? Could someone tell me what the GPS COM port and BAUD rate are for the sony Vivaz?
I lost the little eloastomeric (EPDM, BUNA?) cover for the micro USB port. SE support says replacements are unavailable. I'm sure there were millions of the components molded at the OEM manufacturer. Anyone know where to get Sony Ericsson parts?
I was unable to open the communication port on C510 via SUSE for devices update.According to the step by step, Pressing C before inserting the cable and hold C.More then hundred time i have done the same thing, nothing happen.Anyone out there can help me?have any other alternative methods?
I have a black E7, and lately I have found that whenever I plug in a cable to the usb port it sits very loose and will not work properly, I think is has to do with the weird shape, it is recatangular but the charge cable and normal microUSB connector.Anyway the problem with the usb connector means the phone won't charge/connecto to the computer unless I;
I'm trying to download a new software update for my W760a, because it tells me it cannot add anymore contacts and I can't recieve or send texts/ phone calls. When I try to go to the software updates on the W760a hompepage, it loads a blank page. It just says on the tab "Sony Ericsson Support Phones Topic Updateserviceapplication W760a", and loads a blank page. Please help me with this problem as I wish to continue using my new phone.
I thought I may start an Elm/Hazel thread for discussion as it seems many of you have one of the two phones now. I wanted to do this to discuss any problems with things like firmware & issues & other stuff rather than discussing this in the picture thread. I think the fone fell, cause it was dusty or maybe its because it was charged using the USB cable. What can be the possible cause of the phone not to turn ON?
As the title implies, I need to ask if there are varying kinds of Sony Ericsson LCD screens for the G705 or if there are variations in models made. Nearly 6 months ago I bought a Sony Ericsson G705 phone off eBay that only needed a new LCD screen. Well I purchased a screen off eBaand was good to go except for a few minor issues... 1.) The LCD screen had a thicker screen/border than the original so I had to mod it by taking off the white border around it. 2.) The ribbon that connects the LCD screen to the G705's keypad wasn't aligned correctly causing it to disconnect from the keypad every so often. This too I had to fix by sticking some paper underneath where the connector sits. It worked after the modifications but the end result is the keypad was raised causing issues where pushing the up key would force it to push the left key too. Unfortunately after awhile the screen stopped working likely due to the fact the different layers were separating. I gave in and bought a new screen from an online dealer elsewhere just to get scammed in the end with a broken LCD screen which they refused to replace claiming I cracked it. So now I've purchased a new screen of eBay yet this one has issues too, it's thinner than the first one I got, but has the same problem where the ribbon doesn't appear to be aligned correctly either. This time however, I get some ugly dead pixels in the lower left corner of the screen and the rest is completely jumbled with white lines going through it. I've already contacted the seller for an exchange and am about to lose all hope getting this phone working. Anyway, back to the topic. Do the screens in the G705 vary from region to region or between versions? When I got it I found the phone was from Hong Kong (firmware was HK anyway.) though the manual and included paperwork suggested it was from France. The screens I have purchased seemed to have varying differences between either the thickness is too wide, the ribbon doesn't fit the correct position, or some other incompatibility. I bought this phone.
Please help someone I have encountered my first Elm problem. Over night I charged the phone & this morning it's still charging & will not pass 66% charge. I took battery out put back in & charged with the phone off for another hour. When switched back on it was now @ 65% This was after another hour of charging with the phone off. I then did a master reset of all not just settings. Charged it up again for a further hour & still the charge is not increasing. Please help what the hell is going on? This battery has a mind of it's own. I have a feeling something has occured since I kept plugging & unplugging quite often the phone in & out of my pc. So maybe it's caused this I do not know. Please any suggestions this phone has been reliable upto this piont Esato Awards King of Garbage 2009/2010 & Best Debater 2009 x10 & Nokia N8
BATTERY CANNOT BE CHARGE PLEASE USE A SONY ERICSSON BATTERY. after flashing my phone. i got this error, i've tried changing my battery but the error is still there. my phone is K850i
finally, with USB-2Go, I can find valid reason to upgrade from N70. good pixel camera, ability to browse files from external drive, and HDMI out. Well my question is, is the USB2Go port seperate from the HDMI out port ? If yes, does it mean I can use the N8 to browse my external drive and play video thru my HDTV ? So Nokia N8 can be my full fledged media center, radio player, camera, phone
According to my IT guy I need to get my phone to pull emails out either on port 995 for SSL POP3 or on port 993 for SSL IMAP. My phone errors out when I setup the account through the phone. Koodo does not allow setting it up through a browser. They say the server I have used my 8830 on for years is not compatible with my new 9360 and that it is a Blackberry problem!
My Sony Vivaz was working properly and then suddendly applications stopped working. Then I noticed the applications I had installed in the memory card are not longer displayed on the screen, and when I try to take a photo it says there is no memory card and that they will be stored in the phone's memory. Additionally, when I try to reinstall the applications I always get the message File error. What is happening to my phone? How can I fix all these problems?
I bought a new sony spiro this weekend and so far has been a pain in the back. It resets when I try to access the camera, sometines it stops playing music at random times, or it simply stops reading my micro sd. Today I installed the newest firmware, but still the same problem continues.
I am having trouble with the GPS on my vivaz. The problem is that it seems to be having trouble finding the satellites and at best only picks up one, giving me a message that says "GPS works poorly indoors and in enclosed areas".I have had the phone for about two months now and it did work perfectly at first, I have fitted a zagg invisible skin to the phone and cannot recall if I had used the GPS with it fitted but have tried with the back cover removed and the invisible skin peeled back where the GPS sensor is located but to no avail. Can anyone help or is it a warrenty issue?
Accuracy of the gps on my elm. from wisepilot, chose options-settings-gps but it always says no gps coverage. i have another gps equipped phone and it is able to detect 7 gps satellites from the same location. has anybody experienced problems with the elm's gps and how did you fix it?
I got my satio in may and didnt even have it for a month before things went wrong. firstly, i was never able to send a MMS to a virgin mobile phone. and then i wasnt able to send a text message to anyone. i called SE and they did all this stuff and called my carrier AT&T and nothing was wrong with my service because i put my SIM in my old phone and was able to send MMS and SMS. so SE said i had to send my satio in for repair(why they didnt just replace the phone i have no idea) and now i am waiting for parts. its been 2 weeks since i sent my phone in. and now i hear there isnt going to be another update? theres slight problems with this phone that if were fixed, it would beat the iphone and droid by a mile. i was just getting used to my satio and then i had to return it. they say i probably wont get it back until the 8th of july. thats just crazy in my opinion. why didnt they just replace the phone? when i looked into the satio as my new phone it looked so cool and when i got it i was so amazed by it. i even got a manuel in a different language, had to call SE and they said they wont send me an english manuel and that i should just look it up on their website since they update the software a lot...well apparently they dont since they havent updated it in months. to say the least, i am disapointed in SE with their future of the satio.
I can't decide should I buy Elm or Hazel? I heard about all those firmware update and thats new to me, because I never did anything like that to my old K750i. Is it neccessary to update to the latest firmware? I've also heard that Hazel has a lot of bugs. Is that truth? And recharge problems, are they that bad as they say? I've recharged my K750i for about every 2 weeks.
In a usage time of this phone I had a problem with function Wi-fi. At connection to ad-hoc networks the exchange of packages does not occur. What should I do? I tried to adjust ip-addresses and a network mask manually, to change cryptography techniques, but it hasn't helped.
im not able to send any texts from my vivazpro. it remains in my outbox. i checked with the network people. they said its nothing to do with my sim service.
I bought my cell in June 2009, it works perfectly fine. I used to use wi-fi nearly 5 times in a day (my house has wi-fi) And suddenly about a month back, my wi-fi has stopped working. I mean, it doesn't detect any available networks at all. Earlier it used to automatically detect my home network, but now even if I try to search available networks it shows a blank list - I have even tried searching in places like airports, hotels, etc. as Wi-Fi was one of the main reasons I bought this phone for. I'm having a hard time without it.
our universiry has an open wireless network. for using the internet we have to connect to a VPN with a dialer-VPN. with my elm i can access the wireless with Wi-Fi but how can i set up my VPN username and paaword to use internet? i create an internet connection in my phone and set the username , password and set the APN to the IP address that dialer-VPN connect to. But it didnot work. is there another way to set up a VPN wser , pass and ip?
I am trying to configure my Aino to receive POP email. I am able to do it but as soon as I start using it and delete one message, it stops working. I have to delete the account and and configure it again. I must not delete any message otherwise I will stop working again.
I have just acquired a W995 & have set up a Wi-Fi link to my home network but am not sure if it is using that instead of my Mobile Phone connection. The Wi-Fi icon is green but when I try to connect to the internet a small e appears above the signal strength bars. Using a French network provider, my data allowance is very small, so would prefer to use Wi-Fi to pick up e-mail & other internet services. How can I force a Wi-Fi connection if one is available ?
