Sony Ericsson :: Possible To Upgrade OS To Symbian 3
Nov 15, 2010Sony Ericsson people I am waiting patiently for the upgrade to this OS, what really is the real situation, is there any possibility? If there is no more plan for you to upgrade this OS to symbian 3, I am willing to pay an extra cost for that OS so that I can maximize my phone usage, and applications we are longing to try. If there is any possibility and I do hope so, please tell us,(your avid and loyal customers) so that we can be proud once again having a good phone with good features, unlike now this brand is not gaining popularity because of OS.

Jun 25, 2010I'm just wondering whether or not to try installing the new software for my Vivaz (i think the latest version is R2CA024) Back in March I installed the R2AA030 via PC Suite, I did as the process recommended and backed up all my data, only to find that every app and game I had bought and installed to that point had been removed.
I contacted Sony Ericcson about this and they advised that the licences are removed when the symbian system is reset/updated. They were kind enough to re-apply the already purchased apps and games from PLAYnow back into my download folder, allowing me to re-install them. I have since re-bought all the ORANGE content and just took the hit on price. (PLAYnow content been removed again since re-download) If I try to update, am I likely to lose all the licences again? I really don't want to have to buy my apps and games a third time. Is the update worth the bother? NB. support says that apps and games can be re-installed from the 'installation files' folder on the MC, but I checked this folder is already empty.

May 19, 2012i am waiting for the ICS 4.0.4 update for my xperia neo. my SI no. is not in the list yet. but i wanna ask this question. is it possible for me to upgrade to ICS 4.0.4 by first downgrading to the factory default 2.3.1?? the reason im asking this is that ever since i upgraded from 2.3.1 to 2.3.4 i have been getting this O2 operator start-up n shutdown screens on my phone as well as apps like O2 priority moments which i just cant delete. my phone is not network branded in ANY WAY. i dont even use O2 service. i tried uninstalling and reinstalling the 2.3.4 update several times, but the O2 thing never goes off. but wenever i did a factory reset n revert back to the factory default 2.3.1, the phone is fine with no signs of O2. so plz clarify on this. is it ok to downgrade n then upgrade to ICS?

Jul 7, 2010so far I've put threaded SMS onto my phone (and it feels like a brand new phone!), but I know there's all kinds of things that you can do to customize the phone this way. what kind of tweaks have you done with your phone? I'd like some ideas to play around with possibly.also, is there a way to copy files FROM the phone using a2uploader? I would like to read the customize.xml file but it always gives a READ ERROR then I have to unplug the phone and redo the connection and I get nowhere.

Sony Ericsson :: C902 - Memory Card Not Readable After Firmware Upgrade
Feb 23, 2010I have Phone A which I was told to upgrade to resolve an issue. Before upgrading, I used manage messages to copy messages by a specific contact to my memory card. After backing up, I checked the memory card tab to see that those messages had been transferred they had. I removed the memory card so the upgrade won't accidently delete stuff on there from Phone A and continued with the upgrade. After the upgrade, I put the memory card back in and went to manage messages to restore them nothing showed.
I was on the phone to sony ericsson for half hour and they couldn't figure out why they were not showing, saying I had not backed them up, but I know I had. I have another phone which is the same as Phone A. I inserted the memory card into Phone B, went to manage messages. It showed messages on the card, but those that I must have backed up a few months ago rather than those I backed up today which didn't show in Phone A
It seems it only reads SMS's on the card dependant on the firmware version. How can I retrieve the messages I backed up today? I've been told I can't rollback the firmware version and even if I did, I didn't note down what it was. Those messages were REALLY importants and I would very much like to get them back.

Mar 19, 2010gambled and SEUS said a new firmware update was available for my W995, so being a fool, i backed it all up and ran the procedure.No errors, unplug and powered her on.Now its been sat at the Please Wait with full status bar for about 3hrs now. Can i just power cycle it? what is best way to do this? Will it do damage? Is my phone shot?

Oct 13, 2010As the title implies, I need to ask if there are varying kinds of Sony Ericsson LCD screens for the G705 or if there are variations in models made. Nearly 6 months ago I bought a Sony Ericsson G705 phone off eBay that only needed a new LCD screen. Well I purchased a screen off eBaand was good to go except for a few minor issues...
1.) The LCD screen had a thicker screen/border than the original so I had to mod it by taking off the white border around it.
2.) The ribbon that connects the LCD screen to the G705's keypad wasn't aligned correctly causing it to disconnect from the keypad every so often. This too I had to fix by sticking some paper underneath where the connector sits. It worked after the modifications but the end result is the keypad was raised causing issues where pushing the up key would force it to push the left key too. Unfortunately after awhile the screen stopped working likely due to the fact the different layers were separating. I gave in and bought a new screen from an online dealer elsewhere just to get scammed in the end with a broken LCD screen which they refused to replace claiming I cracked it. So now I've purchased a new screen of eBay yet this one has issues too, it's thinner than the first one I got, but has the same problem where the ribbon doesn't appear to be aligned correctly either. This time however, I get some ugly dead pixels in the lower left corner of the screen and the rest is completely jumbled with white lines going through it. I've already contacted the seller for an exchange and am about to lose all hope getting this phone working. Anyway, back to the topic. Do the screens in the G705 vary from region to region or between versions? When I got it I found the phone was from Hong Kong (firmware was HK anyway.) though the manual and included paperwork suggested it was from France. The screens I have purchased seemed to have varying differences between either the thickness is too wide, the ribbon doesn't fit the correct position, or some other incompatibility. I bought this phone.
Sony Ericsson :: Sony Ericsson Elm Battery Problem
Apr 12, 2010Please help someone I have encountered my first Elm problem. Over night I charged the phone & this morning it's still charging & will not pass 66% charge. I took battery out put back in & charged with the phone off for another hour. When switched back on it was now @ 65% This was after another hour of charging with the phone off. I then did a master reset of all not just settings. Charged it up again for a further hour & still the charge is not increasing. Please help what the hell is going on? This battery has a mind of it's own. I have a feeling something has occured since I kept plugging & unplugging quite often the phone in & out of my pc. So maybe it's caused this I do not know. Please any suggestions this phone has been reliable upto this piont

Oct 14, 2010I am having trouble with the GPS on my vivaz.The problem is that it seems to be having trouble finding the satellites and at best only picks up one, giving me a message that says "GPS works poorly indoors and in enclosed areas".I have had the phone for about two months now and it did work perfectly at first, I have fitted a zagg invisible skin to the phone and cannot recall if I had used the GPS with it fitted but have tried with the back cover removed and the invisible skin peeled back where the GPS sensor is located but to no avail. Jul 2, 2010I got my satio in may and didnt even have it for a month before things went wrong. firstly, i was never able to send a MMS to a virgin mobile phone. and then i wasnt able to send a text message to anyone. i called SE and they did all this stuff and called my carrier AT&T and nothing was wrong with my service because i put my SIM in my old phone and was able to send MMS and SMS. so SE said i had to send my satio in for repair(why they didnt just replace the phone i have no idea) and now i am waiting for parts. its been 2 weeks since i sent my phone in. and now i hear there isnt going to be another update? theres slight problems with this phone that if were fixed, it would beat the iphone and droid by a mile. i was just getting used to my satio and then i had to return it. they say i probably wont get it back until the 8th of july. thats just crazy in my opinion. why didnt they just replace the phone? when i looked into the satio as my new phone it looked so cool and when i got it i was so amazed by it. i even got a manuel in a different language, had to call SE and they said they wont send me an english manuel and that i should just look it up on their website since they update the software a lot...well apparently they dont since they havent updated it in months. to say the least, i am disapointed in SE with their future of the satio.

Sep 30, 2010I bought my cell in June 2009, it works perfectly fine. I used to use wi-fi nearly 5 times in a day (my house has wi-fi) And suddenly about a month back, my wi-fi has stopped working. I mean, it doesn't detect any available networks at all. Earlier it used to automatically detect my home network, but now even if I try to search available networks it shows a blank list - I have even tried searching in places like airports, hotels, etc. as Wi-Fi was one of the main reasons I bought this phone for. Nov 23, 2010I have just acquired a W995 & have set up a Wi-Fi link to my home network but am not sure if it is using that instead of my Mobile Phone connection. The Wi-Fi icon is green but when I try to connect to the internet a small e appears above the signal strength bars. Using a French network provider, my data allowance is very small, so would prefer to use Wi-Fi to pick up e-mail & other internet services. How can I force a Wi-Fi connection if one is available ?
