Sony Ericsson :: ELM Internet Access And PAYG
Nov 4, 2010First off, a bit of background. I bought an ELM (unlocked) off of eBay. I was able to put an ASDA sim in and it is fine for calls etc. However, I'm very puzzled as to what is going on with the internet settings. I contacted ASDA and they sent the appropriate setting for my phone but whenever I try to use Opera Mini , Bolt, GPS or anything else Internet related the connection fails almost immediately. What doubly puzzles me is that if I press the O2 softkey a page comes up which says 'It looks like your using wifi (which I'm definitely NOT) but then that page allows me to browse to other pages (BBC etc). The phone has clearly originally been on O2 and it's almost like something in there has grabbed the internet and won't let go so it's the ONLY internet page I can access. I've tried hard resets as suggested by ASDA etc.

Aug 20, 2010When I try to move some files from my phone memory to my memory card, the phone gets stuck on moving files for AGES and then the files dont even get copied sometimes! When I tried to do this file by file, it did the same thing, and I waited for half an hour, before trying to exit, (the phone didnt respond) and I had to get the battery out to restart the phone! I tried a master reset, and now I've lost my themes and ringtones.

Oct 6, 2010I recently brought a Naite phone and I've got this issue with it, wondering if I am the only one who does. Sometimes when I call people there is a sound in the background (which can be heard by the other person as well) like when you keep the phone near a large speaker (or subwoofer). This happens randomly and sometimes even when I am outside, with no speakers around (although when I am home the sound can be heard even with the speakers turned off).

Dec 5, 20108GB microSD works fine in computer but not in my Naite. During a file transfer process it prompts: 'Memory full. Delete one or more files of your choice' even when there is sufficient memory in the memory card. After this the memory card ceases to be detected by the phone and it hangs. I have to restart to resume normal functioning. Is there any problem due to the maximum limit of the memory card used? Memory cards below 8GB works fine in the phone.

Oct 8, 2010I just bought a Naite yesterday. Used it as usual, drained the battery first, then charged it up till it's 100 percent complete. I went to school. During the trip, I plugged in the bundled headset HPM-60 and played some music. I noticed then, compared to other phones, that the volume level of the music I'm hearing from the headset is a little soft considering I'm, at that time, playing the music at it's maximum volume. I tried changing the equalizers of the phone but still, there is no great change to the volume I'm hearing.
I played the same music on Nokia 7210 Supernova and Motorola W231, with same bitrates, sampling frequencies, and file size, and found out that the Naite's sound is really softer compared to the other two. I even tried to fiddle with the settings (stereo widening, equalizers) but still, the Naite ended up with the softest sound. Is there anyway I can increase the volume of my Naite?

Oct 15, 2010I bought naite from Fido, Canada. I realized that these options and menu are missing in device. I checked the manual and it says that it was there but I don't have any clue who removed these features from the phone. Oct 13, 2010As the title implies, I need to ask if there are varying kinds of Sony Ericsson LCD screens for the G705 or if there are variations in models made. Nearly 6 months ago I bought a Sony Ericsson G705 phone off eBay that only needed a new LCD screen. Well I purchased a screen off eBaand was good to go except for a few minor issues...
1.) The LCD screen had a thicker screen/border than the original so I had to mod it by taking off the white border around it.
2.) The ribbon that connects the LCD screen to the G705's keypad wasn't aligned correctly causing it to disconnect from the keypad every so often. This too I had to fix by sticking some paper underneath where the connector sits. It worked after the modifications but the end result is the keypad was raised causing issues where pushing the up key would force it to push the left key too. Unfortunately after awhile the screen stopped working likely due to the fact the different layers were separating. I gave in and bought a new screen from an online dealer elsewhere just to get scammed in the end with a broken LCD screen which they refused to replace claiming I cracked it. So now I've purchased a new screen of eBay yet this one has issues too, it's thinner than the first one I got, but has the same problem where the ribbon doesn't appear to be aligned correctly either. This time however, I get some ugly dead pixels in the lower left corner of the screen and the rest is completely jumbled with white lines going through it. I've already contacted the seller for an exchange and am about to lose all hope getting this phone working. Anyway, back to the topic. Do the screens in the G705 vary from region to region or between versions? When I got it I found the phone was from Hong Kong (firmware was HK anyway.) though the manual and included paperwork suggested it was from France. The screens I have purchased seemed to have varying differences between either the thickness is too wide, the ribbon doesn't fit the correct position, or some other incompatibility. I bought this phone.

Apr 12, 2010Please help someone I have encountered my first Elm problem. Over night I charged the phone & this morning it's still charging & will not pass 66% charge. I took battery out put back in & charged with the phone off for another hour. When switched back on it was now @ 65% This was after another hour of charging with the phone off. I then did a master reset of all not just settings. Charged it up again for a further hour & still the charge is not increasing. Please help what the hell is going on? This battery has a mind of it's own. I have a feeling something has occured since I kept plugging & unplugging quite often the phone in & out of my pc. So maybe it's caused this I do not know. Please any suggestions this phone has been reliable upto this piont
