Aug 4, 2010Does anyone else have trouble using the wifi aspect of their elm. I struggle to get it to connect and disconnect, so end up having to pay for mobile internet.

Sep 26, 2010I keep getting 'Out of range' from my aino while trying to connect to my home wifi (2wire 2701HGV-E). Need help on how to solve this! Also my phone is not detected during the update service via usb-to-computer. It is stuck at the 'connect' page and doesn't move onto 'confirm'.

Jan 21, 2010Im having trouble with connecting to the internet via wifi. ( i just got this phone) it connects to my router and says "connected" etc. But when I use the browser or any internet based app it says "communication error. try again, turn off wifi or contact your provider for support". Also what is ps data and cs data?. Anyone has any idea on how i can fix this?

Aug 23, 2010I recently had to format my W995 as it was getting sluggish. It used to take a really long time to load once the phone was switched off. (It could be due to the mods though. The only two mods were Rodriguez' HDX 3.0 cam driver and LightEffects V3.) And finally, the other day, the phone turned unresponsive and I had to restart the phone but it would just show the standby screen and the screen would just turn off and turn on again.
I had to flash it with SEUS and it works well now. My only issue is that Opera Mini 5 (and the versions before that i.e. 4.2) simply doesn't work over wifi. It now only works using my 3G connection. It used to work perfectly fine before flashing. The Netfront browser does work over wifi and I've even manually entered the IP address, DNS, Gateway etc. Any ideas on where I'm going wrong? Local connections are enabled and other programs can connect over wifi.

Sep 22, 2010My Aino phone came up with a update today and once it had finished it turned its self off and back on i put all my passwords in and it just turned itself off, now when i turn it on it comes up with the sony ericsson start up, then just flashes a light on and off about every min, its not the battery because i put it in my patners phone and turned his on and works fine, sum one please help optus couldn't and sony ericsson is closed.

May 1, 2010On thursday I bought a brand new Elm. Everything seemed to work ok until i have tested the implemented facebook application it automatically checked all the profile in a rush from start to the end (normally it goes profile by profile automatically, but if you tilt the phone left or right it goes one profile left or right). I went to the service menu and i saw the coordinates are not zero when the phone is standing on the edge... i tried to tilt the phone in such way to find the "zero" and I did, but in that case the phone must be tilted a bit backwards and on the diagonal edge of the phone. I also used the SE "Water Level" app and it showed the same result, mine accelerometer is NOT working properly. I searched some pages if there is any way to calibrate it, but found nothing. Does anybody knows if it's possible to calibrate it ? Otherwise I will have to take the phone back to the store.

Except for the * key (lowest key on the left which you use for locking the phone for instance), which makes an audible click, unlike all other keys. Is this normal? For me, they could/should be all silent!

Sep 25, 2010I'm currently having a problem most of the time whenever I move the joystick downwards on my K800i phone, instead of scrolling down a menu, my phone thinks I've pressed select and pushed the joystick button. This is particularly irritating especially when I'm writing texts. Using the predictive text option and when I'm trying to scroll down in my address book to either call someone and my phone thinks I've pressed 'select' and calls somebody, I didn't want to call and sending somebody a text. In the meantime, I'm just moving the joystick upwards whenever I have to scroll through menus.
I've had my phone for about 2 1/2 years now and it was perfectly fine until now. I also have another minor problem which occurs rarely. Sometimes my phone is locked and when I get a text, The phone display stays dark and the phone doesn't function for me to unlock the phone. I have to open and shut the camera shutter for the display to light up the display and for the phone to function.

Aug 11, 2010I can't use File Manager properly on W508a. When I press Options the only menu that comes up is for shortcuts! I want to transfer files from the phone to the card. Also I can't use the walkman function for files on the card, so I have to keep the phone open to listen to files on the card. The only way I can move files around is by doing it on the computer - which defeats the purpose. If I press options in any mode (I have just found this out as I have only just got this phone) the only menu I get is Shortcuts. Is this my fault or is it the phone?

Nov 21, 2010I got a new Elm (T-Mobile Germany branded) some days ago and after trying all functions (no problems found), I had it updated to the latest firmware R7CA061 with SEUS. (I've found some threads concerning Elm and GPS-problems in this forum, but they weren't connected to R7CA061). After the update, GPS does not work properly any more, or in other words: it does not really work at all! Neither Assisted GPS (I only tried A-GPS using WIFI) nor unassisted GPS does work. I do not get a lock on my location with Google Maps, also after waiting for more than 10 minutes.
My GPS-position is "jumping around" on the map about one kilometer around my actual position. It's completely inaccurate! I have the feeling that it's even getting worse after some minutes. I also tried the GPS test in the service menu: doesn't work! Switched GPS off and on again: doesn't work! Tried AGPS and GPS: doesn't work! Completely shut down and switch the Elm on again: doesn't work. After reinstalling the latest firmare using SEUS once again - GPS works (assisted and unassisted) and also the GPS test from the service menu works properly. But then, after some minutes, GPS seems to fade away again somehow.

As far as I know the best way to do it is using SE PC Suite (if there is any other simpler ways of doing that please let me know as well) I downloaded latest PC Suite from SE website. Everything is goes well till it starts pairing up C905 and computer. Computer can see the phone, so does the phone, I can establish bluetooth connection from PC own software. But not through PC suite. After I am filling in passcode on the phone, few moments later, there is warning message, that pairing failed. I reinstalled PC Suite few times and it doesn't work. Do I need any specific drivers, for bluetooth to install on my comp? I am using Vista pro.

So I want to connect my Phone which supports WiFi to my Laptop which is connected to the internet through wireless. I've tried to look online and so far there seems to be 2 possible ways.
Ad-Hoc: I tried creating a Ad Hoc connection via Network and Sharing Center>Set Up A New Connection Or Network>Set Up A Wireless Ad-Hoc (Computer to Computer) Network on Windows 7. When I searched for WiFi connections on my phone I did find the network I created but I couldnt go on the internet. BTW, when I create a AdHoc network, even my laptop is not connected to internet because I can only connect to one at a time meaning that I cant connect to my wireless.
Bluetooth: I believe that my laptop (Alienware M17x) has bluetooth. But I never really used it. Anyone know how to get internet on my phone via bluetooth?
Side Question: BTW, is there anyway to integrate maps into Google Maps 2.3.x? What about street view? Or can I somehow make Google Maps download the maps when I am connected through WiFi and store them so I can see them later.

Oct 2, 2010I have three problems with my W995a:1) When I'm texting, the backlight keeps changing how bright it is, when I'm texting it will sometimes go quite dark then other times quite bright (not a major issue)2) When I was calling someone, the phone just turned off and I lost the call, I rung the person back, then shortly after connecting the call, they couldn't hear me so I hung up and rang again. Shortly after ringing again, the phone turned off again.3) And finally - my biggest problem right now, is that I just bought a USB cord to connect it to my computer, yet when I do, it keeps on disconnecting from my computer then reconnecting (even though it's plugged in). This makes it impossible to do anything with it.

I can go to websites but when i try to log-in it goes back to the menu screen. Is there something i need to change in the settings?
