View 2 Replies View RelatedI use the phone and take a call as normal. Next day someone rings me, they can NOT hear me but I can hear them. I then discover the microphone is only live when in loud speaker mode, it is not a faulty mic as I can speak using it on speakerphone and make recordings.
I have done factory reset, had it to a repair guy who reinstalled all the software and replaced the 'ribbon cable' but the problem remains. Is there a secret 'mute' button that I have missed, is this a button/switch fault, we are totally perplexed.
My phone is not playing videos. Is there some software I needed to download to play them?
View 3 Replies View RelatedWhen people call me I answer and cannot hear anything through the earpiece. I then turn it on speaker and I can hear the other person. I don't believe this is a fault with the earpiece, because occasionally I have called my voicemail and have been able to hear it through the earpiece.
I have tried pressing the C button on restart, and it has done nothing.

First of all, I can't hear a call from the handset itself, I have to speak from the speaker. Which is very inconvenient. The Service centre was not very helpful. He said check up from so and so date to check when the spares come in.i have to wait till the store opens and then call up and check when my phone can be repaired. Second problem that cropped up today is that my menu button does not work when the slide is open. My software is up-to-date as I updates it two days ago. Also I find the battery life very weak, isn't this supposed to be a walkman phone? I am outraged to find such problems with an SE phone so early into use. This has never been manhandled, why the problem then?

i have a problem with video playing. i put some video from my pc via nokia pc suite and convert it to my n97.
iit`s playing only few seconds and then the video stops but sound is still playing. i tried put the video without converting in mp4 formate but it`s the same. if i try to play some downloaded video from ovi or some carptured video it plays with no problems. i`ve already tried to reinstall my frimeware but it didn`t solve the problem...video : http://www.Internet.com/watch?v=ebhub4qetys

The screen had frozen, and the buttons had no response. The screen then exploded in a rainbow of multicolored dots, like that on a TV with no signal, before turning black. Now I cannot turn the phone on. I have tried taking the battery out and replacing it, and charging it, and holding the power button for ages. I then copied my video to my desktop and played it in Windows Classic Media Player. Now I have pretty much every codec update under the sun so was suprised to find that the video was extremely choppy. The audio worked fine but the video was extremely slow and it was as if I was watching picture slides as opposed to a video! When I tansferred the video to Vegas Pro there was no video at all, just audio. I could see the video slides in the programme but when I clicked play it was just black (with sound).

I have had my k500i for about three years and I like it more than any other phone that I have played with. One thing that I found frustrating, though, was the lack of a "pause" function on the video player. I am posting this information in case it is useful to other k550i users. I used to play videos by going to File Manager --> Videos --> Select Video and was frustrated by the lack of a pause function on the player. If my viewing was interrupted I had to miss some of the programmer or start over. Just today (three years after getting the phone!) I read the manual closely and it looked like there was SUPPOSED to be a pause function. Indeed there is! If you select Entertainment --> Video Player --> Select Video to play a video (instead of the route mentioned above) then the Pause Button (on the left side of the screen) works as it is supposed to. There is a bug in the software that the pause button is not enabled when playing videos via the other route. I hoe this post helps SOMEONE out there.! Let me know if it did.
