Can I try out the installed software on the SCH-i760 before its activated to Verizon?I want to see if IE Mobile 6 will run a activex file I have for viewing a security DVR cameras thru the wi-fi.

View 2 Replies View RelatedHow in the world do I get wifi to work? For instance, I have a wireless router here at home and I want to be able to lach on to the wireless network. Also, I was at a hotel that offered free wifi, how in the world can I automatically search without putting the network name so that the wifi network shows up? (you know, like when you have a laptop and you just click and it shows you all the available wifi connections you can connect too, I thought it would be the same for my cell phone). I travel so much so it will be almost impossible to always know the exact name of the network.

Will be porting her verizon number to page plus in the very near future, however, i would like to first get the phone updated and working good before we activate it. Got a few questions, I know there is an update for windows 6.1 but both of our pc's are running windows 7 and it appears that there is no update for that system. Is this true? is there a workaround? Also, how well will I be able to get this new phone to synch with my wife's computer? It would be great if she can have her calender and contacts synch up everytime she plugs the phone in. Also, are there any other software options that anyone can recommend? I've seen some stuff that makes the screen look like an iphone, ect. Just wondering if there was a unanimous list of must have software add ons. Sorry if these questions have obvious answers, kind of a newbie here. If someone has some patience with an explanation,

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a Samsung i760, to begin with...the clock display on the today screen is set for 12 hours and shows the normal time and not military (no offense to the military personal out there)
My problem is my calendar and alarms. They both have military time .
I have gone to settings
system
clocks and alarms
alarms
Put in a time...and it is ALWAYS military with no AM PM option.
Same with appointments on my calendar. No other option other than military time. It all worked fine up until a week ago and I can't find anything out there on the net that can help me resolve this.
Sometimes when I need to reboot/reset my i760 (Winmob 6.1, Spb Shell) it will not finish the boot cycle. I turn it on, I get the Samsung logo, the dark blue static Verizon wireless screen, then it about a half a second into the next screen (where the Verizon wireless logo "floats" down to a light blue screen) the system powers off. You can just see the red check in the logo start to draw and head down and the system just goes off.I thought I had solved it by pulling the battery for about 30 seconds, but now that doesn't fix the problem anymore. The only way to make the phone power on is to connect it to a power source (charger or cradle). Then it powers on normally.It does not matter the charge on the battery at the moment - I've had it do it any charge level, including 100% just off a overnight charge. This battery will normally last me 2 days of hard use.Any ideas?

When I now select if, a tick appears in the box and other devices can 'see' my WPA protected Hotspot, but I get a message showing on the screen saying: "Activation Required. Click Continue to subscribe to a Mobile Hotspot data plan using the browser on your smartphone or on a connected Wi-Fi device". The only option is "OK" (not Continue). If I select OK, then I go back to the Manage Connections screen, with no tick in the Mobile Hotspot box. I am on an Orange UK voice and data plan (orange internet APN).

I have been unable to get the mobile web feature working though. When I try to access the mobile web, it takes me to the page wanting me to pay 1.99 to verizon for one day's usage. View 1 Replies View RelatedIMEI can be seen,everything is fine, when plugged in my orange sim card it just said "mobile network not available". The signal strength is fine and can be seen. I tried an O2 sim card, a talktalk (vodafone) sim card and they both worked fine. both of my 2 orange sim cards didn't work on this phone, but they worked fine on my other 2 phones. latest update, just flashed orange stock rom KJ4, got the same problem.tried manually connect to orange, got notice that "unable to connect, try later".
some more detail:every time when I flashed a new rom, always a notice saying "can't access to "/system/csc/ORA/system/". Tried *#272*imei#, there was no optional CSC available.
I have tried reinstalling the frimware and all that did was lose my apps. Tried doing a different firmware and tried rooting all the same results. The phone is definitely unlocked and unblocked as while I was searching google I came across one of those secret codes to show the status of the locks and all 4 of the categories were unlocked. I have tried a batterry pull and tried cleaning the Sim card. Also just in case this helps when I g into Settings>Call>Additional Settings it says 'Network Or Sim card error'. However the Sim card is perfectly fine.

I do not use the mobile browser/internet aspect at all, I use the phone as a phone and for texting.After the first bill came in with over $25.00 of data charges I called Bell and got the they are legit charges and maybe you should just pay us a extra $10/ month for unlimited data to save yourself some money.I now lock the face keys and have bought a phone case and don't carry the phone in my pocket at all now so I don't believe there is any accidental button pushed which causes the phone to go online.The per usage data is low 0.014 or 0.0068 megabytes per use but it happens every day and adds up.Is there a feature I may have inadvertently turned on in the phone which causes it to go online to update some thing? I've gone through the phone and do not see anything obvious.

I moved some photos from my PC to the phone (no SD card) and during the copy process I received a message - "may not be compatible with device". I can see them in my gallery but get no response when I try to select one of them for wallpaper. If I tap it, the photo is isolated and that's it. No response from menu icon. There are forward/backward arrows at bottom of screen and tapping them just gets me the date I copied the photo to the phone.

I think the phone is set up to automatically select the best network. Normally this will be my WLAN,but I suppose,if I am in an area of the house with poor WLAN coverage,the mobile network is automatically selected?
How can I block this automatic (non-option)?
