So my S2 took a quick dip. I immediately pulled the battery and SD card. Put it in a bag of rice and on a heating pad overnight. It starts up fine, but it jumps back to the home page regardless of what I try to do. The four lights at the bottom continue to flash.
Am I left with a hard reset? When I do that what will I lose? My contacts are backed up, but I have some photos on the phone.
I test all sounds in my iphone 4s and they are ok. Its working. So why when somenone calls me or send email or messages THe alert sounds dont work, dont ring?

My Ifone 4 was not behaving properly. I pressed "Reset all settings" now it has been more than 1 hour my ifone is still working in background and white circle is moving in the center of the screen. None of the button including Power works may you press it for any time

Just updated via Samsung Apps the camera firmware to a CDE11 or something version. Took 4 minutes to update and flash this firmware. I wonder what exactly it changed in the camera firmware? Hopefully improved things or bug fixes.I will test a few videos and see if the bitrate has changed or not.

On the canadian site which i have all my other samsung products registered, there is no listing for my model number (GT-I9250TSDTLS (this is whats on the box, phone menu just lists my model as Samsung Galaxy Nexus, though the label under that battery shows GT-I9250M as the model number..how am I supposed to register my phone?[URL]..shows that galaxy owners can get a free copy of angry birds space... how do I get that?
Word on the street is that there may be a refreshed Samsung Galaxy Nexus coming. I wasrReading over at Android and Me and this thread caught my attention:The rumors state that there is going to be a refreshed camera. Possibly along the way of 8.0MP. On top of that, the processors are scheduled to be refreshed using The faster SGX544 GPU is included with Texas Instruments upcoming OMAP4470 processor. This is the successor to the original OMAP4460 found in the Galaxy Nexus, that includes the older SGX540 GPU.With the Sprint version of the Galaxy Nexus coming soon we'll have to wait and see if they are in fact getting a refreshed model or the LTE based model that Verizon has currently, Either way, I hope they do launch a refresh on the HSPA+ line as well. I use the Galaxy Nexus and while I love the phone, I wish the camera was better. Faster is always better as well so I'll take the processor bump.

I was wondering if someone who bought the phone from telus sells me this phone, would I be able to enjoy the 1 year manufacturer warranty? I just purchase my sg2 phone yesterday. Unfortunately, my brother has used my phone last night and register the Samsung account in it by using his email or id. When I tried to change the account, it cannot be done cause I have to do the factory reset in privacy setting (which will erase all my personal info and downloaded applications). I don't want that to happen as well. Plus, my my brother can't even remember what the password he has used for the Samsung account I'm very pissed off now that my Samsung account belong to him and the fact that I can't do the factory reset because of him. I'll mention again, he forgot the password he used for MY SAMSUNG ACCOUNT IN MY SG2.

not much difference in the galaxy family that i can imagine (although i haven't dug around to know exactly) but besides the fact that there is no where to place the stylus on the S2, will the stylus or "S - Pen" as i've read it called work with the phones? or is there something more technical involved that will not allow this to work? and if it does work, where do you buy one (or two or three as replacements) ;-)

i use Samsung galaxy s2 with the latest firmware version from Samsung kies (ginger bread 2.3.5) , the problem occurred after installing external SD card and move bunch of apps to it,i tried removing the external sd card from my device, the device stoped rebooting, when i insert it again the device keeps rebooting over and over, the problem is obviosley is moving apps to SD card, i tried to delete the content of the file (andro secure) in SD crad this file includes the moved applications from phone memory to external sd, the problem also stoped
its one of the two: 1- android do not accept lots of apps in external sd or 2- there is a problem in a specific app in external sd which make the phone rebooting over and over but i don't know which app is causing the issue because i have lots of apps installed !
i have just downloaded the new firmware and was wondering wich files were the PDA file and the PHONE file as on the update it says moden on one of them. i have already found the CSC just its been a while ive done this and cant remember if the moden file was th PDA or the PHONE file?

I can silence my phone, turn the volume down, and select vibrate. I still get voice announcements loud and clear. How do I turn it off? When I was logged into the store I noted a link at the bottom marked my orders and devices. So being the nosey type I clicked and then find it shows three books as being downloaded, Alice in Wonderland, Treasure Island and the 3 Musketeers which I had no knowledge of. When I looked on my phone in the play book app there were the books !Where did they come from as, up til now, I haven't ordered or installed anything - still getting used to the phone first before I go down that line.Can someone tell me how this happened or where the books pre-loaded with the original gingerbread or did it come when I upgraded to ICS last week? Do I need to get rid of the triangle first? I haven't quite figured out how to do that despite many items in the discussions - which kernel do I use, whereto do I download it with ODIN? Is there a country specific kernel to use (Sweden for me)?

I already tried to install several support packs and keyboards from the market but they didn't work well. I can read sms in hebrew but can't write because there is no hebrew in the languages option. View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a bit of a strange problem - my SGSII is about 2 months old now. Last month, when I was in poor signal areas, the phone automatically went to 3G and 2G. This month, it won't work.'ve tried everything I can think of - . Turned off Wi-Fi2. Long pressed the power button to make sure that data network mode is on3. Went to Settings -> Wireless & Network -> Mobile Networks. My 'use packet data' is checked. Network mode is GSM/WCDMA (Auto mode) is selected, although I have also selected the 'GSM only' and 'WCDMA only' options to no avail. or the 'Access Point Names' option, I only have one option which is 'PAYG WAP', which is strange because I am on a monthly contract!

I'm under the impression that it is a Samsung app that presents synced data from various services in a central location and lets you link contacts from say gmail/facebook/phone together so you don't have duplicate names.But can this not also be done directly with the "contacts" on the phone?I've also noted that if I sync directly with the facebook app I get options of who to synch - for example I can sync only contacts that are already in my phonebook - so people that I rarely contact but who I am facebook friends with won't clutter up my phone. I think at one stage I even managed to sync facebook twice - once through social hub and again through the app.In short I'm a bit confused as to whether I want to keep the social hub. Do people with non-samsung phones see it as attractive? Or do they cope without it? Or do other manufacturers provide something similar?
