Samsung Galaxy S II :: Suddenly Went Off While Browsing - Won't Come On
Oct 16, 2012My white Galaxy s2 i9100 went off suddenly yesterday while i was browsing. Initially I thought it was the battery since it was around 12%(which is unusual) when that happened. When I put it on charger it refused to charge and when i use the USB cord on my laptop it refused to come on, the laptop cannot even detect the phone. Normally even when the battery is dead when I fix it on the laptop it starts charging right away, but not this time.
I tried hard resetting by pressing the volume up/down + power button but nothing happened. This morning I made some research and found out that it is possibly the IC circuit that needs to be changed. Some people with similar problem even went further by changing the motherboard when in fact it is the IC that needs to be changed.
I cannot take my phone to the Samsung office here since I didn't get it directly from them so I will be seeing a technician to do this for me. I am in Gambia, it is possible our technicians here do not even have the correct tool to do it without damaging the phone for good, so I'm thinking of sending it to Dakar for repair.

Dec 12, 2015I was charging my phone while using it and it suddenly shut off. Whenever I try to turn it on the welcome screen "samsung powered by android" comes up for 1 second and then goes black and nothing else happens. I've had the phone for about 8 months and never rooted or installed any software other than official updates. I was just playing a game while it was charging when it stopped working.
every combination of buttons i press even the factory reset gives the same result, the welcome screen for 1 second and then nothing. I was able to get to the OS change warning screen though but when i cancel it goes back to the welcome screen problem. Charging it shows the charging symbol going on and off every second.

Apr 18, 2012Started to get to grips with my S2 after switching over from Blackberry for business. Must admit, i'm quite enjoying it now! I still use an iPhone for personal so it's quite nice to have the comparison..Anyway, sitting at my desk with my headset on I would love to be able to answer my client calls and reply to SMS by using my PC instead of the phone itself. It may sound lazy but it'd be so much quicker to just stick it in a USB dock or something and then not have to worry about it again all day.Is this possible? I've seen something called MOBILedit but the reviews don't seem too clever.

Does not hide his number, so I could blacklist him and I think I can sill see in my log when and if he calls, so i was just wondering where his calls end up.

Sep 7, 2011I have a Bulgarian SIM card (with roaming activated) and everything worked fine in Bulgaria. However, I went to Denmark. I switched the airplane mode on in the plane and when I turned that mode offf, I got the message 'emergency calls only', which prevents me from making any calls. I bought a Danish SIM card but I got the same message. I have another phone with me (some old Alcatel) and both SIM cards work pretty fine there.

The reception seems good (4 of 4 bars) and HSPA connection. I have tried a new sim card and reseting the phone to factory settings. But the problem persists. I also have intermittent problem of the phone not receiving incoming calls.

Jan 21, 2013Having a problem with calls over bluetooth through a Pioneer car stereo with a Galaxy S2. I can make and receive calls ok, and the stereo mutes whenever a call comes in. Call audio is directed through the stereo speakers, but the person at the other end cannot hear me. If I switch the call to the phones speaker they can hear me ok, but this means I have no audio through the stereo. Pressing the privacy button on the stereo appears to have the same effect. I saw one suggestion to try disabling media over bluetooth, and have tried this but the problem persists. I have tested the connection using an iphone and it worked perfectly.

May 29, 2011Anyway, last night I set my alarm as I normally do before bed and this morning I over slept by a disgusting amount because somehow all of my apps had spontaneously crashed while I was asleep! The force close notification kept coming up for a number of different applications before I was forced to simply turn it off. When I turned it on again a few seconds later, most of my settings had been wiped along with much of the data kept on the actual phone memory. Some stuff was still there, like all my apps, my connections and passwords, but my home screen was defaulted, as were my message tone, ring tone and input settings. Also gone were any phone numbers I had stored on the phone itself as well as all of my inbox messages.
So, I went into the settings to put my screen lock back on because I noticed that had been reset, too. I did the normal routine, picked the pattern, confirmed it and so on. But after I put my phone down and locked the screen, when I picked it back up again and pressed the home key to activate the screen, it was just unlocked. I didn't have to input the unlock pattern. However, when I went back into the settings to make sure they were all okay, it made me enter the unlock pattern to get into it! How odd.

May 7, 2014So I just bought the S5 a few weeks ago and am having trouble pairing it to my Acura RDX. The previous two droids I had seemed to have no problem with this.
-The S5 is paired with the car, when an incoming call comes in the phone rings and so does the speakers in my car. I simply just hit the answer button on the steering wheel and it answers the call.
-The problem: So now I want to make a call and this is where the problem occurs. On my previous Droids I would just pull up the contact and click the phone dial button. After doing this the phone audio would automatically bump over to my car speakers as soon as the line started to ring.
-On the S5 I would go to a contacts name or dial a number and it never kicks over to the car speakers, I have to manually click the bluetooth icon in the corner of the screen every time. Its weird that it works fine for incoming calls, but when placing a call I have to select the bluetooth icon.

(laptop works fine at the same time so I know its not router problem).If I goto settings and take wi-fi off then put back on it works fine, emails come thru.
It seems lik eI have to keep doing this during the day constantly, anyone else had the problems?(Wi-Fi sleep policy under advanced in wi-fi setting is set to never so thats ok)
