I updated to 7.1 the other day and love the better battery but I have noticed that it freezes when I send a text message but only if i go and exit from the message screen right away. Is that normal? or is there something wrong with my phone?

View 5 Replies View RelatedIt started when my carrier orange UK stated on their website I could upgrade to version 7.1. Really want this due to the battery saving mode as an I high user.I could not find the update on RIM's website or access it thought he desktop software.I spoke to orange & they are not sure currently but advised me to update to bundle version v7.0.0.2487 first.The problem is that the OTA says the phone is up to date as does the desktop software.I have updated the desktop software, manager & device drivers on my PC to the latest version but still luck.Then tried the check for updates option on www.blackberry.com/update No luck there either.

Still though nothing is showing up when connect & run the desktop software. All it will let me do is reinstall the current version which is v7.0.0.2254 (I have cancelled at this point).I have even tried connecting the phone without the battery in to force the update but just get the same thing,I am little new to Blackberry but am fairly proficient with a computer so am coming to a bit of a brick wall
out of a sudden..my bold 9790 switch itself off...then when i tried to switch it on again, it won't start..i've tried charging the battery and few attempts to switch it on by pressing the power button, it just would not start...then i tried to connect it to my Pc usinf blackberry desktop, i would not detect.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI was updating My Blackberry Bold 9790 software from its Blackberry 7 OS to 7.1, no once the update started it notified me that I wont be able to use the phone for two hours. It started backing up my data first, it however stopped backing up data when the power in the phone went out, and didn't continue upon me putting it on charge and has been stopped the process altogether, it has been at 10% of backing up process for two days straight.

Various apps seem slugish and the phone freezes up quite often.It was generally OK with 1.6 and with 2.1.0 but 2.1.1 seems to have really messed things up inc not reveiving SMS picture messages at all sometimes??
View 4 Replies View RelatedI've had my iPhone 4S for 2 years in October. It worked fine (besides the sound, but that's another issue). About a month ago, it started to act funny. It would stay on a certain battery percentage (making me believe it was okay and I didn't need to charge it) until all of my apps froze and the screen eventually going black. I called tech support for my carrier and they put me on the right track-- resetting it. That worked for a little while, but it only froze up like that every so often. A few weeks ago it started getting worse; I had to reset it from 5-8 times a day. I went to my carrier (which, by the way, was two hours away) and they told me there was nothing they could do until I restored and updated the software. I went home and did just that, but it changed nothing! The wifi won't connect, the apps and battery percentage freezes. What is going on? Should I try contacting my carrier or should I tough it out for two more months until my contract runs out? Is there anything I could possibly do to get my phone working again?

I started the wireless update last night before I went to sleep. It got to the restore process and has not moved. I tried a battery pull, I left the battery out for about 2 or 3 minutes. The phone itself is not frozen. It keeps pulling up the icon that lets you know it is TRYING to work, but no progress is being made. This being my third attempt at getting it to work by using a battery pull, It is stuck at 1% and has been trying to complete the update for 28 minutes.

You must restore this iPhone before it can be used with iTunes."through ITunes it says I can restore but it will go back to the original settings.

So I did a master rest and deleted everything on the phone or sd card. The phone got better and faster but again it did restart on its own even without doing heavy function on it. So I moved on and did a software repair from the pc companion .. but still the phone restart and just freeze on its own.

I cannot connect anywhere. It worked very briefly after a reset but is now back to the same. It only works in airplane mode. I also used to be able to start it up in airplane mode and then turn airplane mode off but I now lose the signal when I do that.

Not sure if any other information is necessary, but since the latest update on our phone, after getting into the camera application it freezes and stop responding to the direction you point it at. If we back out of the camera application to the home screen, the phone is still responsive, it is just the camera that we are having issues with.
Starting immediately after the ICS upgrade, I began having problems with the stock browser. Basically, after a few pages of activity, the browser will freeze and completely stop working. The only way to get back to browsing is to go to Manage Apps and Force Close or restart the phone. Some sites seem to cause the problem faster than others but it seems it will eventually happen on any site. I have tried warm reboot which seems to maybe give longer use before freezing again, but that may not actually be correct. I have been trying to avoid a factory reset.

I decided to do a Wireless Software update on my Blackberry 8530 (Sprint) and as the process began it came to a halt. The overall Restore Progress is stuck at 1% and the Current Database: BBGroups is stuck at 69%. I figured that I would take some time so I ran this update before going to bed last night, Well 9 hrs later and we are still stuck at the same progress. I tried to do a battery pull and that didnt do much, The device reset and automatically restarted the update freezing at the same exact place. There is no option to cancel the update and it will not allow me to even access my BB home page.

Recently, I have been noticing my App World is freezing when I try to download or update my applications. See, I am trying to download Twitter to my phone, and every time I click "download" it says "please wait". It stays like this forever, and I can't press the back button or blackberry menu button. Occasionally, it tells me I need a Blackberry Identity update, which I can't seem to get access to either. After this happens, I can't do anything on the App store, yet I can still run the phone, its just the App store that is frozen. I restart my phone after this, and it resets everything, just to have it happen again. I know I have the Identity update, and all my software is up to date as well.

Whenever I am outside, even if there is hardly any wind, I am unable to send any kind of messages or scroll through menus, as the 'cursor' keeps going back up to the very top of the phone. So if I am trying to send a message, it scrolls right back to the oldest message. I have gone into the settings and made the sensitivity as low as it will go, but it makes no difference.

Other that that, i can't go anywhere in the house, its just SOS. I bought the phone with WIND Mobile. Thinking it was WIND that had the problem, i unlocked the phone to try it with Fido. It's confirmed that it is NOT the wireless carrier that has the problem, its the actual phone itself.
I don't want to believe that I spent $400 to buy the phone and its nothing but an expensive paper weight.

I would do a battery pull and it would be back to 80 or 85 percent. I bought a new genuine blackberry battery to see if that was the issue but still same problems. I wiped the device and re-installed the original os from desktop manager twice and the problem is still there, very frustrating, any one have the same issue and managed to fix it?
Three weeks ago I got my BB 9790 and I am very happy! Only thing is, it keeps rebooting (about 3 times a week) . I have changed phones 3 times now (within 8 days I get a new phone) but I have the same problem each time. Probably a software thing? Are there any others that have the same problem and maybe a solution?
