Forum is full of codes for Soft Reset, Hard Reset etc, also the net is full of secret codes for various functions. Is there any official Nokia declaration about codes & where does one find it?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI Download a wrong Root for my device, after choosing a wrong file, I am back to a stock Original ROM its succeeded, then I tried to use Secret codes and surprised that it all does not work, then i download the correct root ma, but the problem it's still , all the codes are not working and the device does not respond, such as that in the code like *#0011#. I tries all secret codes.

Yesterday, I went running with my Lumia 1020 listening to music and using the Runtastic app. The music stopped - I looked at the phone - it was turned off. I tried powering on, but to no avail. I should also mention that upon leaving, the battery was fully charged and this happened after some 20 minutes. When I came home, I immediately put the phone on the wall charger and expected it to power on after a while. I checked it after 3 hours and nothing, the phone was still stone-dead and what was even more worrying, completely cold - no heat-up from charging.
I tried connecting it to my PC - the computer didn't even recognize ANY device was connected to it. Just to be sure, I tried Nokia Software Recovery Tool, but sure enough, it was not able to detect the phone. The phone seems to be dead meat now, but when I put it on my desk wireless charging stand, the stand's indicator lights up, although the phone does nothing and stays that way.
if i do a hard full reset will that reset eveything including the first hotmail live account i put in on the first day of activation because im not living in the same country anymore and want to start a new zune/marketplace account to buy apps i have no problem with hard reset IF It will work?
View 1 Replies View Relatedit all started with my memory card being corrupted somehow - I found some topics that recommended resetting the mobile - which I did after backup up the contents of my memory card (original Nokia 8GB) - I did the same some time ago and it worked flawlessly back then - but not this time. After copying / formatting the memory card all my applications where gone - restoring the previously backed up files didn't work this time. Additionally when I tried to access/change anything Theme related or try to use the mode switcher the handset crashed every time. My next thought was - maybe there are some leftover settings - maybe a reset will help. The reset did work so far - but the problem with Themes remains. Additionally I am no longer able to start the OVI store application, nor the Advanced Call Manager application that I downloaded from the Ovi store before it stopped working.I did reinstall the firmware now but this didn't solve the problem either. Accessing anything theme related (even installing new ones) triggers a restart of my handset.Did anybody experience some similar behaviour?

View 19 Replies View RelatedI bought E72-1 in China, Chinese (primary) and English languages built in. If I would have to reset to factory settings, the phone will start in Chinese. I've done it once. I do not read Chinese, so I had my Chinese friend to help me set it to English. Possible problem: if I had to reset to factory settings again, and I had no help at hand - is there some secret code to access the language selection directly (so I could select English)? As I'm unable to use the menu in Chinese, it'd be difficult for me to locate the settings.

At last i had to do a hard reset. I had not lost anything from my mass storage drive but i found that all the music that i had downloaded from ovi music store was asking for a licence and gave a message to get the license from internet. But then i found that internet was not working too. I have every setting from my operator nut still internet does not work.

I've never had any problems with it that weren't easily solved by a quick reboot, but a week ago my phone started freezing its screen and being glitchy..I ignored this after i fixed it by rebooting it a couple of times by taking the battery out, but soon after it turned off completely and wouldn't turn back on. I plugged it into the charger thinking the battery might have died because it was showing the "goodbye" screen before it would turn off. After plugging it into the charger, it would restart normally, showing the battery charging symbol which usually stays there for about 5 minutes until the lock screen comes on. Unfortunately, instead of the lock screen coming up after this period of time, the phone would vibrate and then begin charging again.

Now, the irony is that my phone gets identified as a phone without 'Ovi Music Unlimited' which is a totally hilarious. My Nokia account clearly displays that I have the subscription valid till Oct 2011.

After cleaning up my 5800 by:
- backup phone memory /c to /e
-*#7370#
- restore phone memory from /e to /c
Except for reorganizing my menus and reinstalling fring and opera mini everything was ok. But YBrowser was also missing and reinstalled that one but it pompted with "Certificate epired". Setting back the date resulted in "Cetrificate not yoe valid" How can I get around these terrible certificate check?
I received this phone from our inventory at work. I am not sure who used it before me. But, I do not know the lock pass code. How can I hard reset it without knowing the lock password. Everything I try, I am prompted for the lock password except one attempt. I held in the up arrow, shift key and back arrow while powering on. This did some type of reset. But, the lock password still is not 12345. So, either the lock password for Nokia N97 is not 12345 by default, or this is not a true hard reset?
