Though I have not saved any application in the phone memory, it shows that I am left only with 48mb of phone memory.Can anyone tell me how to check what is using up my phone memory?
View 6 RepliesI'm on a 5800 and I'm currently on firmware v40. Ever since I've upgraded, my mobile browsing experience has suffered. Sometimes when I'm surfing the net, a message will appear on the lines of "Memory Full: Please close some applications." This occurs even when the browser (usually Opera Mobile, but it happens on Symbian just as often) is the only app open and used to occur only on CNN but now it has started occurring elsewhere. Also, since I've updated to v40, I have been unable to open a second tab without crashing the browser. Has anyone else had this problem? What was your fix?

I've gone into everything on the memory and plugged it into computer and can't see anything that takes up anywhere near that amount of space.I have updated to firmware 20.0.019 after it was eventually released for my code and it made sweet F A difference, even though it's supposed to free up memory.If anyone knows anything about how to sort this please let me know, as it's starting to **bleep** me off by making videos jump and i can't update other things like ovi maps because "memory is full".

The N97 phone memory 77MB shows full but when I look at it under Explorer I can only see about 20Mb of material. Where is the rest of the memory going to? And after I registered at TuneWiki, the app scanned my music, and after that I got an error saying that: Disk space exhausted. Please cleanup the disk or re-install application on another drive. Well, the truth is, that I can't even uninstall it, because I get almost the same error. Tried to install the app again without uninstalling but the same happened.

I have been using my Nokia 5230 as normal for a couple of months, and have noticed that the phone memory is always full or close to full. I have a memory card on there which I use for all my music etc. After reading other posts I cleared my browser cache which freed up 7MB or so. I also discovered 16MB in installed applications. Yet I still have about 55MB unaccounted for. I then bought a USB cable to connect it to the computer and investigate on windows explorer. The properties of the root drive for the phone memory show as mostly in use, yet when I go through each of the individual folders nothing is there. I do not have many applications installed and they are set up to install on the memory card anyway.
Can anyone please solve my problem as to where on earth this 55MB of unaccounted memory is coming from?

View 4 Replies View RelatedI know this has been discussed lots before but I can't seem to "find" a solution that works for me.The N97 phone memory 64MB shows full but when I look at it under Explorer I can only see about 25Mb of material.Where is the rest of the memory going to? I have gone through all the folders and files via expoler and can't find anything bigger than 2MB except Maps at 9MB. When I add them all up it comes to just over 25MB.Any tips on what I could move to the Mass Memory delete to free up some memory. As far as I can tell everything that can run off the Mass Memory is already there (text messages, images, music, apps etc).Are there some sort of log files or crash files that I could delete without hurting the phones operating system?

View 9 Replies View RelatedI received my new Nokia 5800XM yesterday and was told in-store that the GPS would work automatically. So went home and tried it for the first time, it discovered my position in under 5 minutes, and I was super excited as I got the phone solely for the purpose of navigating my way around the new city I had just moved to. However, when selected the "drive", "walk" or "search" options it didn't give any results for my searches for addresses. I tried a bunch of variations on the names of places and even used google maps as a reference of how to write out the addresses but it has a standard "no results found" every time. It also jumps between "searching online" and "searching offline". I visited the Nokia website to see if I could find a solution, and subsequently upgraded the software on my phone, downloaded the maps installer, the map loader and the multimedia transfer. I then deleted all the existing maps and installed the map for my country and a voice.
It is still, despite having no problem with connectivity, not giving me any search results. Is there some place that you set the phone to search the maps installed on the memory card? As I think that the phone searches online and the connectivity might be interrupted? really have no clue about these things. searched everywhere and couldn't find setting for this. I can scroll through the map and manually select a place, after which the GPS works fine except - the voice isn't working! Does it talk out loud? or do you need your headphones? This is fine if you're going somewhere that you know, but that's kind of defeating the point of having GPS, no? Another small problem is that I have a constant flashing little envelope in the right top corner, it says that "SIM card is full" - but I can't find a directory for the SIM card? It's been flashing since the moment I put the SIM in the phone, but never did it with my old phone. Any idea where I can access the SIM information and delete some of it?

I thoght sim was problem but No. Even with replacement sim, I still get errors as described on subject line above. I am thinking about contacting Nokia and get a replacement. I want to add pictures and ring tones to my various contacts but it is not possible with these errors that I am receiving. I try to add a new contact and phone does not allow it by, once again, providing an error as mentioned above. Some times, phone says that memory is full but yet the phone indicates that there are 150 contact slots still available to be used.

I see memory phone of 256 MB full with USB connected to PC. When I look inside the folders, nothing in some, no large file in others.
1. Why the phone memory is full? I did not install apps on the C drive aka phone memory, I did not put photos, videos or anything there, I don't use email.
2. Why I cannot find the files that occupy the memory? No large file can be seen.
