Nokia PC/Mac Software :: How To Transfer SMS From E66 To 6730C
Mar 25, 2011
I got 2 nokia's mobile phones, E66 and 6730c. I want to give E66 to my mother and using 6730c only. But, the problem is that there's many important sms on my E66 right now and I don't know how to transfer those sms to my 6730c. I tried Backup on Nokia PC Suite v7, but it didn't work. After I backup all sms from E66, I can't restore those sms to 6730c. It just can't detect the backup file. But, when I try to restore those backup sms to E66, it can detect the backup file.
I purchased a nokia 6730 classic last week. I first turned it on and looked ok, so i put my sim card in and it didn't want to turn on. I pulled sim card out and nothing. I have tried deep reset and still wont work. I has been on charge for hours and wont even show the charge indicator.
So I recently got 6730c. I updated the phone and the map service using Ovi and the maps disappeared. I tried to revert the phone to a backup I did but the maps didn't appear. I again updated Ovi, my phone and the map software and tried to download the maps but it didn't work.
I cannot delete mailbox under Menu -> Email -> Settings -> [Selected mailbox] -> Option -> Remove Mailbox -> "You must be connected to remove a mailbox. Try again later.".
Connected where and how the mailbox can be deleted? There are lots of discussion of same problem but no solution (=factory reset is not solution).
I am trying to transfer all my contacts from Galaxy S to Nokia 808 but it seems to be like the Mars Mission! I have all my contacts synced with my Google account and Windows Live account and I have all the contacts in .vcf and .csv format. How can I get them into my Nokia 808. I tried the "Import contacts" option in PC Suite but it just does not do anything. It acts as though I never asked it to import. So that isnt working. I am using the latest PC Suite which i downloaded from the Nokia website.
I used to be able to connect to my PC using "Mass Storage", but for some reason now it isn't! When I try to connect it in Mass Storage it says that my memory needs formatting, but I am not going to format! Anyway, I can connect using PC Suit, but there are some songs that my friends sent me, and I just cannot find them, it says on the phone that I have 68 tracks but on the PC I only found 50! Edit: I made sure the songs that I want are saved to the "Memory Card" and I made sure I am accessing the "Memory Card" in the PC!
I have just got a new Nokia E72 I want to transfer the contacts off my old phone The old phone is a 3 Skypephone S2, which is not compatible for a bluetooth transfer.I stored all the details onto the memory card, put it into new phone, and saved them to the new Nokia so they are on the right phone. Now I just need to know HOW to put them from where they are stored on the memory card, into my 'contacts' list so I can use them.
This should be easy to find, but I must be a complete dunce because I can't find it in the user's manual or anywhere else. How does one transfer photos from the phone to a PC using the USB cable. I emailed support about this, but the only replies I got were one, to install Nokia Ovi Suite on the PC, which is not a good solution, because often it is necessary to transfer photos to computers that don't have that software installed. Or second, to connect using mass storage mode. The problem with that is that mass storage mode can only access the memory card, but the camera stores the photos in phone memory. I was able to successfully download a few photos by clicking on options/organize which gave the option of moving the photo to the memory card from where it could be downloaded. Now however, I find that that option has disappeared for recent photos, and options/organize only offers the option of "create new folder". Can anyone tell me how to perform the simple task of transferring my photos to a PC? (I don't have Bluetooth).
I've just ordered my N900 and understand there is no 'switch' function like on S60. How do i get my contacts and images/sounds/videos from my 5800 to the n900?
until one month ago i had an old pc with usb1 so my transfer data was limited at 700 kb. now i have o good pc with usb2 but my transfer is still at 700 kb. i changed cables I changed usb hub but speed is still low. does n95 8gb have usb2 or not. I read that it have but why my transfer speed is so slow. what i have to do to increase transfer speed?
does anyone know if the tags you can give to images in the photo application are stored anywhere in the image file itself? I ask because I put my pictures into Picasa and there is no point tagging them in the phone if I have to do it again in Picasa.
Another day another teeth clenchingly frustrating problem with the Nokia X6 a.k.a "the most overpriced piece of fecal matter in existence".Now I am attempting the highly ambitious task of transferring a picture from the phone's memory to the PC. Oooh now I know you are probably gasping at the sheer complexity of this action. It is on par with rocket science you may think. So I am I om the dreadful Ovi Suite, and I have found the picture. So like a cad I try dragging it from the Ovi suite page to the desktop. Silly me, that only how every other program would allow you to do it! But no. Not ovi suite. Thankfully it stops me doing this, hell I can right click all day but the fantastic Ovi Suite just doesn't repond with a helpful pop out box giving me options such as "Copy" or "Cut". No, that would be too helpful.
Instead I have to click the picture then go to "copy to computer", where the wonderfully designed Ovi Suite then proceeds to whizz through it with a progress bar, but seeing as though just below this bar is a vast space containing nothingness I think it was a sensible decision for the programmers not to include, oh I don't know A DESTINATION FILEPATH! "Copying to computer" does not tell me where it has been copied to!
Christ was it a conscious decision of Nokia to just make this Ovi Suite the least user friendly as possible? So I have trawled through the millions of Nokia files in my Local disk and cannot find this image. This one little image that all I wanted to do was attach in an email. With a camera its a 30 second job, but good ol' Nokia has other ideas and improves the process by hiding the images away, deep in a folder that is completely secret to the user.So my question is does anybody know which file I should be looking for?The very fact I have had to sign in to this forum sums up how poor Nokia devices are.
I can successfully download and play songs on my PC and on my mobile. However, if I try to transfer my songs from the PC to my mobile if comes up with the following error message: "This music can't be transferred because one or both of the devices involved is not an Ovi Music Unlimited device. You can only transfer music between your registered PC and mobile."
Obviously both are Ovi Music Unlimited devices and all was working fine before the Ovi player upgrade.
I purchased new nokia 700 and I have n97 I want to transfer my SMS from n97 to 700. And any way to make 700 to accept to store SMS on SD card rather than phone memory?
I did search and could not find. If there is thread already I apologize. I am trying to transfer contacts from N900 to Pioneer AVIC-X910BT car unit. Paired Ok but could not transfer phonebook. I tried to select from phone to send data via bluetooth to see if Pioneer unit popped up but no dice. The Head unit stated send as vCard from phone to the head unit but could not figure out how to do this. I guess this would be sending contact information one at a time but really do not know. Has anyone been successful or is this not support at present?
I am using my Nokia E71 as GPS. I am using "Integrated GPS" & "Assisted GPS".I am using a 3G access point from my provider. I noticed that I get a GPS connection in a few seconds almost anywhere (inside & outside). This is because of the A-GPS.I know A-GPS is using the 3G network to get faster GPS connection.
Here is my question: If I start Nokia Maps (3.03): +how much KB will it use on the 3G network (for example when navigating to a location)? +how long will I be connected with the 3G network (for example when navigating to a location)? +will it be using the 3G network (downloading & sending data) all the time when Nokia Maps is open? +is this going to cost me much to use this? If I open Nokia Maps 3 times each day.
After I get a GPS connection, will it stop using the 3G network (no more paying for kb data or time on 3G network)? This is realy important for me to know.I don't want my bill to be extra expensive.
The GPS feature and Nokia Maps icon in the menu would suggest that the Nokia 5800 supports maps. My aim is to transfer maps onto the phone's memory card so I will not require an internet connection to use the feature. In Nokia PC Suite, clicking Maps takes me to a page that tells me to download Nokia Ovi Suite. I won't bore you with a rant on how bad my experience Ovi Suite is (it is terrible), but the end result is that clicking download on a map appears to transfer it to the phone, but no maps appear on the phone.
I recall there used to be a separate piece of software that allowed downloading and transferring of maps, but I cannot find it. Nokia appear to have removed it from the website, which is a shame, because it worked. Is there a piece of software that is able to transfer maps to the 5800. Failing that, is there a way to transfer maps manually?
I have walk navigation licence on E52.But, I selled it and as on nokia maps site, I go to update licences. Move a licence to a new device Take the SIM card out of your old device and put it in your new device. Select: Options > Shop & licences > My licences > Update. Confirm the connection to the licence server and select an internet access point if necessary But, this dont working. It shows me, that I have no licences. How can I transfer walk navigation licence? Please help me.Nokia E51 - Nokia N82 - Nokia E52 - Nokia E66
I am a writer: There are about 3000 messages saved in my Nokia 2630. It seems that PC SUit or OVI can not handle or transfer this amount of messages. For example, when attempt to read messages of the phone, OVI writes: Reading failed. Fail to read message from this device.
Does anybody know a solution to this problem, besides copying by hand 3000 messages? Is there another way around?
I am just trying to transfer all apps from C: to the E: prior to v2.1 install. How do I do this as I can't seem to locate where they are actually stored in the file manager?

I tried transferring a few different folders with music in them to my N700 but no matter how I do it , they don't end up in the "MUSIC PLAYER" folder . In the end , I use the "old Nokia suite" to drag & drop & it did end up in the right folder but not with its own folder , they end up as 1 folder with all the music in it.
