I've got a problem to update the firmware of my new nokia E5. I cannot do it using the phone only and a WI-fi connection (because there is only the option "update via PC" available). I have a Mac and no PC. I read that I can do it using iSync. So I downloaded the needed file and install it on my Mac. Now, my Mac and my phone are connecting but how can I do the firmware update?
View 2 RepliesI'm base in Sydney Australia and have just received a msg from Nokia that I can update my firmware for my N900.(firmware version 10.2010.19.)The problem is that I receive a message that I could not update because of: poor-quality ,slow or intermittent internet connection. This could also be because of problems with our servers. Is it that NSU does not support N900 and if so why would Nokia sell a phone and not provide software to update the phone with.
View 4 Replies View Relatedhaving problems with the latest 400.21.013 update. firmware installed fine and data was backedup without any problems. now with the new firmware wi-fi doesn't connect at all. every time i try to turn wi-fi on, an error appears on the screen saying that the wi-fi is used by another app; even though the wi-fi logo was off and none of the apps are using it. after the error the wi-fi logo stays on without any programs even using it and turns off only by booting the device. i haven't also, in my opinion, installed any damaging apps that would use wi-fi without an authrzn, there's only opera mobile, sports tracker, Internet, palringo, and so on. the regular stuff.would anyone have any suggestions to this problem? it would be such a pain in the a** to put it to maintenance.

No other program can use the wifi connection. I have four E71. Tried it on the second E71 phone. Did the same. Permanently, the wifi is on. Tried a deep hard reset and then installed. Same again.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI have a very annoying problem with my Nokia 5800 XM and the Spotify-app. I updated the app to v. 0.4.3.9 yesterday and it required that I uninstalled the old version first, i.e deleting all my cached tracks. Now today when I'm going to resync (on WLAN, since it's about 500 tracks) it just won't connect. I choose the correct WLAN from the list, but the app continues being blue (not green) and then the list pops up again. I read another discussion about almost the same thing a moment ago, so I tried to go to the menu and check the WLAN connection from its menu. So I did that, and it says my WLAN has full signal strength (I'm right next to the router) but then it loses the connection and asks me again which network I want to use. I have not had any issues with WLAN in any other app, and I have synced tracks with Spotify on my WLAN before, so I have no idea where the problem lies. Maybe something with the update and my WLAN? I don't know...
About the attachments: The list that shows several times and then the WLAN list where I'm connected to my network and it has full strength. "Marsvinsfarmen" is my network.
I recently update firmware 5.1 on my iphone 4s and now cannot connect to my wifi. I have tried resetting network -reset all settings etc., to no avail.

Since upgrading, I can no longer connect the PC and phone by USB. Bluetooth works fine for the record. Tried some obvious troubleshooting - e.g. reinstall drivers and Nokia software, restart PC and phone.

I can only use the wifi if i go to settings>connectivity>wlan. If i go straight to internet, it tries to connect to t-mobile internet. This also happens when trying to use applications such as bbc iplayer and the ovi store.
Is there a way of setting the wifi connection as the default connection? If not, is there a way of setting up my applications so they connect using wifi?
I updated firmware to 31. When I click on internet, window "Select connection:" pops up with "(no data)" in it. I have installed my configuration files from my provider again (for internet access) and there's no option to chose them. When I try to change access point to Uncategorised/Telenor WAP, it can't be done - the option "always ask" stucks there and can't be changed. When I try to access some web page, only blank page appears for few seconds and then I get returned on home screen...

Updated three phones, one ipod, and two ipads, after the 5.1.1 update I am unable to connect to my wifi. Keeps saying wrong password. Both laptops connect with the password so why isn't the apple products. All have been hard reset, restored to new and still no luck. Have reset network connections more times than I can count.

The connection is ok (I can select my network in the list and the phone is connected) but the "Blackberry" icon doesn't appear on the main screen near the wifi icon and it's impossible to connect the phone to Internet or email.
Using 3G connection all work fine but I'm abroad and normally I use this wifi network on my apartment that works fine (I'm also using an iPhone that works great, it means that the network is ok).
I wanted to intsall Mail For Exchange, and the Nokia E72 NAM doesnt seem to have it when I bought it (unless you can direct me to it). I decided to follow the instructions to install it, but it requires me to update the ovi store. I dont know if this will update the firmware as well, but i heard that the newest firmware (v031.032 i believe) is very buggy, so i want to avoid this until another firmware comes out.Can someone help? if its already on the phone, i just need to know where it is. If its not on the phone, will updating the ovistore affect anything in terms of new firmware or other sorts? The reason i want to install this is to utilize the google calendar so i dont have to keep plugging the e72 into the computer (and possibly damaging the plastic usb cover).

View 10 Replies View Related22.007 has been out since forever, and it's basically only the second update since this phone was introduced. Has Nokia forgotten the E72? It sure needs a firmware update:
-Little available memory, applications (especially the browser with a big website) terminate for nothing and "memory full" messages occur very frequently. This is actually the biggest issue.
-The camera application sometimes is quite buggy and even the phone restarts after a photo is taken.
-videos have some lag, especially if you zoom while shooting and using the phone memory doesn't help very much.
-sometimes (especially in the ovi store app) if you start typing in a box the first two letters appear in the opposite order than typed.
-The gallery application can't be terminated using the app manager (by pressing the home button for a couple of seconds) when the app is hidden.
-The trackpad sensitivity could be improved (especially when using it in the browser).

I called Nokia to ask if they have any updates and the rep told me to wait because pple are having issues and they expect to roll one out soon. Soon with no date. My question is, should I update the firmware, and whats the best way to do it so i don't run into issues ?
I'm currently running firmware version 20.2.019 and when I put my phone's info (RM-507, product code 0576111) into Nokia's website it tells me V21.2.045 is available. However, when I try to download the firmware via OTA or NSU, it tells me no updates are available. What would be preventing me from updating the firmware? Is there another way to download it or is my only option sending the phone to Nokia?

It has rendered the music player almost unusable!
With the previous music player, you could press the "Back" button and it would take you to your list of music or podcasts. Now the "Back" button just dumps you all the way out to the phone's home screen (just like the end button.) Now, in order to go to your playlist you have to "options", "go to music library", "albums (or podcasts or playlist etc)" then find the album or playlist you were playing, then find your song or track. That's 5 more steps than necessary. The back button is very inportant with the way this media player was designed. You can't just eliminate it in such a way. What good is the improved scroling in the music player if you take away our ability to navigete.
This would be such an easy fix. Just make the Music player's "Back" buton do what it used to do instead of duplicating what the "end call" button already does.
The media player on a device is very inportant. The one on this device is very ordinary. But i put up with it because I am a loyal and very very patient nokia user. I waited 8 long months for this update. And now you just took my media player away. You are very close to making a 12 year nokia user switch to Android. Nokia, please give me back my "back" button. and don't make me wait a long time for it.
in the last week of 2009 i got a text messege from "MyNokia" service notifying that there was a new firmware update for my n82, the v35 i think. The thing is, until today it is unnavailable in the NSU. Anyone updated it already or still waiting like me?

I've just attempted to update my E72 to the latest firmware using the OTA feature. In fact I made the upgrade via my WIFI connection. The downlod succeeded, then the E72 updated the firmware and rebooted.The problem is that my E72 isn't rebooting at all. After it switched off (for the reboot cycle) it could not start anymore.When I'm powering it on, the display shows some background activities, then there is a line and finally it switches off.It seems that the firmware update broke the OS. Has anyone encountered a similar behavior ?
View 5 Replies View RelatedFinally got my mitts on one of these amazing phones and loving everything about it.However the euphoria is being slowly eroded by Vodafone's lack of support and knowledge of the device.Since taking delivery of the handset on 4th of March, it and I have been unable to find any firmware updates through the normal channels (Nokia's own update page, NSU and the OTA update search can't find any updates beyond the 1.2009.42-11.205.1). According to Vodafone the latest firmware for the device should be 2.2009.51.1.
I know there's a Maemo Flashing Tool available and have downloaded it and the firmware, but I can't get an answer from Vodafone whether this will void my Vodafone warranty.
I'm concerned that as it won't update now, it won't update when Meego hits the servers.
On the Nokia web site I could see that for my N95 classic (RM-159) the latest firmware is 35.0.002 is available.But when connecting my N95 to OVI i am told that 31.0.017 is the latest being available.Can somebody shed a light on that please?

When I plug the USB cable in to my phone, and then the cable in to the computer, the Mass Storage works, and when I put COM PORT, it said it needed a driver and installed in the MT6225. But here's the big issue. PC SUITE won't detect my phone. Nokia Software Updater won't detect my phone. I'd really like to update the firmware....
