Nokia Nseries :: 5230 Jagged Album Images After Firmware Update
Mar 21, 2011
After I updated my 5230 firmware to V 51.0.002, all my music album art is jagged / too sharp / resized incorrectly. Is there a way to fix this? Or should I just downgrade the firmware back to the previous version? If so, how do I downgrade?
I have a Nokia 5230 new phone which I purchased during March-2010. Yesterday, I update the firmware of my phone from v12.0.089 to v20.0.005.The update was done through the Nokia Software Updater and it was successful. However, after that the phone started behaving abnormally and it is getting restarted automatically. For example: whenever any call is coming and I want to receive that call, i click on the receive call button and then the phone gets restarted automatically. Similarly, even if I reject the call, it restarts.Kindly let me know what is the issue and how to fix the same.
Today I updated my phone (model 5230) from firmware 40.??? to 50.0.001. I tried a couple of times by using the Ovi PC Suite, but it resulted each time in error 12014 (backup of phone succeeded, but update not). Then I switched to Nokia Software Updater (also on PC) which seemed to work great. However, now the media key is not working anymore.
Why smartphone bought in Coop ipermarkets (in Italy product code 0595998) can't update to latest firmware v60.0.003? When will this update be avaible for such pc?
I updated the Firmware of my N97 mini (to v30.0.004) after the download and update, the phone could not start-up again. Phone says "Start-up failed. Contact the Retailer." I updated it by dialing *#0000# then clicked on OPTIONS, CHECK FOR UPDATE?
Ovi Suite displays the album art straight from the Music folder created by Windows Media Player when the CD is ripped. The album art is a hidden jpg file (well 4 actually) and a desktop.ini file that says what to do with them. There are NO properties on the mp3 files that say what the album art is.I manually copied my mp3 files to the phone (as I resampled them at a lower bitrate) and copied the album art across manually but it does not show up.Does anyone know if you use Ovi suite to sync the music does it copy the album art across as well?
I have a problem of images in the contacts bar in the home screen. The images in the contacts bar are seen to be blured when i add it to the contacts.I dont know why this is happening. I have tried to format the phone using *#7370# but no change in it.Can anyone tell what can i do? Why this must be happening? Please thank me by giving 'KUDOS' star. It will help me to serve you better.Currently using N82 and 5230. Next would be N?
I just noticed or I'm just not aware of yet... but I think the Nokia N8 or Symbian 3 does not support ther capablity for you to add album art or edit song details on the Music Player...
All my albums on iTunes, they DO have the album cover, but mi iPhone 4 it's not showin' any picture, i'm really ******!!!, i have done everything & i can't fix it!
I have downloaded plenty of albums to my phone both before and since, but there is one album that just will not appear in the music player. If I go into the file manager, into the music folder, I can find and play the album. However, it refuses to show up through the music players.
Activity Album freezes at certain images. I tap at the image I want to see and when I slide to see the next one, it freezes. However, this happens at certain images as I said before.
Last day my phone freezes and I did a soft reset. After that when i check my photos in camera album, the images are not there. But I can see the images via camera app. The Images are missing from camera album. When its connected to PC,images are still thr. I have done this steps also...
Turn skydrive off temporarily (Photos > Camera Roll > ... > skydrive settings > Don't upload). Open Nokia Camera app. Tap ... Tap settings. Tap Find photos and video shot with Nokia Camera. Wait until the progress bar disappears. Close Nokia Camera app. Turn skydrive back to on.
i just updated my phone to symbian anna and i'm really fond of how the upgraded OS looks. however i seem to have a problem with photos, since for some reason not all images seem to be showing there. i just sent a picture by bluetooth from my laptop and the only way i can view it is through filemanager. there seems to be no way to refresh images and video library.
I use nokia 5230. after I updated from 12.0.089 to 20.0.005. I feel better on dragging menu icon, faster and wider screen web browser, more stable music player. but I found some bugs that:
1. When I opened web browser for 3-4 pages with music player and then went to menu(all programs still opened) screen still show contact bar and menu's icons didn't showed.
2. Programs installer are much time freezes if open after downloaded from web browser immediately.
3. Sometime menu icons don't responded espectially specially the Application icon and Log icon
4. Phone lock slide bar sometime vibrate agaist the slide but sometime not.
Recently upgraded to symbian anna for my nokia N8, but keep having problems with it. All new and old images got automatically deleted. everytime I take new photos, they automatically get deleted as soon as battery gets low or cell gets switched off or restarted for any reason. what to do? whats the use of 12 megapixel camera if cant store photos.
Has anyone else run across this issue? If I have the Nokia 808 in Creative mode and manually adjust the ISO, sometimes I get dark images. This is in bright daylight with my subject completely visible and well-lit in the view finder. It doesn't really matter what the ISO setting is, the pictures will come out dark. If I choose Automatic and then back to Creative, it will "fix" it.
That's not entirely true. I don't know what fixes it. But it will return to normal. I tried to make it happen before writing this note, but could not repeat it indoors. It's possible the bright sunlight was part of the problem...as if the 808 overcompensated for all the light.that gave me an idea...looking at the EXIF properties of the dark images, Lightsource is "Unknown".On the properly exposed images, it says "Daylight". Perhaps this is a clue?
I'd like to make a shortcut from the home screen to a folder of images. I can't figure it out. I have read and read, and tried many things.I can make a folder in Menu or Applications, but can't put anything in there.
So the much awaited belle update is out, however the music player somehow STILL does not sort by album title properly. So here we are, with more than 10 gigs of music all scattered in the music library with album artists names and what not.
i have nokia 5230 and its supposed to have 128MB ram but when i installed third party apps(RAMblow and FExplorer) these applications are showing only 47.38 as Max.free memory any reason why?
I tried in the phone. It is Factory Restore. This does not delete the phone memory.I want to delete all the contents of the phone. Just like it came when it was new.
In regard to Videos, is there any way to only display one specific folder's worth of videos? Rather than everything on the entire phone? In the same vein, is there any way to filter the photo gallery? I don't want to see videos in my image gallery and I also don't want to see all my album covers ... just actual photos would be great.
I deleted all the "unsatisfactory" music that was preloaded on my e71 mini using the delete function in the music player and it said the files were deleted but it still shows the album names.
Seem to have a problem with my phone. It no longer rings when called. We bought the phone off the internet and I wonder if updated the firmware did this?
I have tried turning off call waiting etc but it does not accept the commands
my power key is not working not matter how hard or for long i press it nothing will happen.and I know the problem is related to the key because my phone is still powered on.
I found in the web that 5230 couldn't be charged via USB from PC. My question is if I could charge this phone with Nokia AC-10 charger (from E52) with micro-USB. Is it safe to connect 5230 to this charger?
