Nokia Nseries :: Accidentally Uninstalled API Bridge On 5230?
Nov 15, 2011I have looked everywhere and can't seem to find where it download it. I called Nokia and the only thing they could tell me was to restore it back to factory settings. i really don't want to do that. There has to be a way to just download the API Bridge. It has not seemed to effect anything so I am wondering if I really need it. What does the API bridge do anyway? It has not seemed to affect anything yet. (or not that I have noticed)

May 16, 2010I tried to update the version of Maps on my 6760 slide to 3.03, not realising that it doesn't work on this phone yet. Anyway, I uninstalled it after it wouldn't open the app. Now how do I get version 3.01 back on there?The maps download site does not include the 6760 in the list to choose from. I followed the manual's instructions to downgrade (do a backup, hard-reset), but after the reset the app is still missing. I guess the app was installed on the micro-sd card, not internal memory.What do you suggest?

Dec 20, 2011I've recently bought a Nokia 700 and for few days I'm experiencing this weird problem.Every single connection drops (3G, Wi-Fi and USB. Haven't tested NFC yet) at random times and I can't reconnect. It always says after that it can't connect and the connections are unavailable.After turning the phone off and then on again, everything is back to normal. I can normally connect to the 3G connection, Wi-Fi and USB.It's pretty annoying as I always have to restart my phone in order to connect via USB or to the Internet when it happens.Anyone else who is experiencing the same problem or has any solutions to this?

Sep 29, 2011I just bought a new Nokia J headset and I can't pair it with the Nokia N8, the phone simply doesn't find it or any other BT device. My computer can find it all other devices I've tried. The phone works fine with BT devices that were already paired but won't pair new ones. I've tried the new Headset on another phone and no problems, even my computer pairs with it so it's my N8 for sure.

I didn't find it.If I have activate the fm-transmitter in my car and nokia maps is running as well, the output of the music comes over the radio, but the output voice of nokia maps comes over the phone. If any advise comes from nokia maps, the connections interrupt via fm-transmitter completly.During the time of the nokia maps advise both, music and nokia maps, sending the sound via phone. Nov 14, 2012i'm using a nokia n8 phone and i used to keep a copy of my photos and videos on my pc using nokia suite, i just clicked on the gallery sync. button and it was done.i recently bought a new memory card and i started downloading videos by the (Internet downloader) app. i have now like 7gb of videos on my memory card.the problem is that now every time i try to sync. the gallery, nokia suite makes a copy of all downloaded videos on my computer. is it possible to set nokia suite to sync. only the photos and the videos taken by the camera and ignore the downloaded videos?

When I entered it, it just said "Service temporarily unavailable.lease try later". Same thing happened with Social. I hoped that this would get solved with symbian anna, but it didn't. Now, when i enter the app, only the loading screen appears, the one with welcome to ovi, an then nothing. It just exits the app. Note that I uninstalled and reinstalled these apps many, many times, but still, they do not work.

Apr 22, 2010I have aN79 and use the fm transmitter to play mp3's loaded on it via my car radio system.When using nokia maps at the same time the transmitter is turned off when a voice comand comes from Nokia maps then when it is finnished it comes back on again.
Why can't/arn't the comands transmitted to the car system the same as the mp3's as they continue to play from the phone as the comands are deliveried.
Is this as good as it gets or can you get it to work with the transmitter?

Jun 23, 2011My Nokia N8 does not seem to be able to do DTMF. This means no listening to voicemail, no using of call centers which asks to enter numeric options, no joining telephone conferecences with a pin and no remote activation of DTMF based server settings.
it can be done and all I need to do during a call is to select "Options -> Send DTMF -> Enter Manually -> * -> Y", because that is stupid. Entering 5 commands to select a single digit is rediculous. It is like saying that I can sail from Johannesburg to Cape Town because all I need is to dig a canal and then build a ship from matches. This much effort is as good as not having it and is entirely impractical during a call with various options i.e. voicemail or call center options.

Nov 12, 2012Everything on the 500 seems to work... except the video. I upgraded to Belle almost as soon as I got the phone... but under the Anna upgrade and now Belle I can't get any video. All I get is an error. What it will take to make the video work? The phone also has a tendency to run out of memory and crash but that doesn't happen often enough to make it really annoying, although I'm surprised it happens. I'm just trying the various options to video to reduce the quality of the video in the hope it will work, but so far no luck.
I suspect that given the buggy nature of the software we'll see at least one more update reasonably soon. I bought the phone specifically because it was Symbian... and so far (for the price) I'm pretty pleased. Nokia maps in particular were one of the main reasons it was Nokia over Android. Cheap parts prices, modular design and battery life were some of the other reasons. Only missing thing on this phone is a flash!!!
