Nokia Nseries :: Uninstall Public Transport And Maps Suite?
Apr 13, 2012How do I remove/uninstall Public Transport and/or Maps Suite from my N8/Belle? Public transport is useless unless you are traveling to those cities - it should be optional to load as are the maps.When I check via Nokia Suite on my PC I can see those apps listed as installed (see pics.). But I CAN NOT see ANY of those in Settings -> Installations -> Already Installed. Is there any other way to remove besides from resetting the phone?

Jul 24, 2012I don't know since when, but I no longer get the data for the Flanders (BEL) De Lijn.The stations are presented, but greyed out because of no detail data.For the Brussels transport nearby too, there is no problem --> meaning connectivity is ok.
On the website of DeLijn, the detail data is available, meaning something is going between Nokia Transport and DeLijn.
I post this here, as I have no clue where I could report this

Apr 15, 2010Earlier I was using a licensed version of Nokia Mpas but never faced this problem. Since the free navigation has become available for E71, I've started facing this problem. I did a hard reset, deleted "Cities" folder and just installed Maps, but error persists.
When I go to OVI Mpas tio download it, the file that I get is "Nokia maps." I know that Nokia and Ovi Maps are one and the same thing, but soem posts on this forum sugegst that they might be different.

Aug 19, 2010have anyone had similar problems with their Ovi Maps ? i.e. after I updated the firmware on my E71 (version 500.21.009), everytime I try to run Ovi Maps it crashes.I've tried to reinstall maps and the firmware, but with no luck - problem is still there.

Each time I start Ovi Maps it crashes after around 0.5-5 minutes. No other applications are launched in parallel. I have tried to play switching on and off different positioning methods All the same, it crashes with any combination I have tried. Even if I switch off all the methods except built-in GPS, it crashes. I have restored the factory settings and reinstalled the OS. Before installing some applications, I have tried to start Ovi Maps - it crashes all the same.It crashes in a strange way. It first freezes. Then in around 10 seconds the screen goes dark, then fully white and then the phone restarts. But it does not restart from the very beginning, as it does when you switch the phone off and switch it again (it shakes, then it asks SIM pin, then lock code). Instead, after Ovi Maps crash and the white screen, it shows the white screen with "nokia" on it (no pin codes are asked), then comes the desktop screen, no applications are running at this point yet, it does not react on the touch screen, no connection to the cell network. Then it starts to revive, connects to the GSM network, starts to react on the toch screen, on the button, refreshes the desktop, etc.

Apr 13, 2010I did a firmware update on my e52 about a week or two ago and since then my phone has crashes and freezes when I plug it to my computer via USB cable and select PC Suite.It just crashes and the only thing that helps is removing the battery and even after that I need to repeat the battery removal for 2-3 times until it finally responds. Otherwise when I push the button to switch it on it just shakes, the screen stays blank and nothing else happens.

Jun 25, 2012Finally the ICS update has become available for my phone (SI 1253-7151) -PC Companion pops up a message about the new update. If I click "Update", PC Companion starts downloading the update, finishes the download and says "Preparing computer for program updates".
Then it proceeds to "Unable to install or start components for update of phone system" and my phone does not get updated.Then I have tried Sony Update Service, but now I can't even start it properly; the program crashes right after opening it. It just says "Synchronizing" and then "An unexpected error has occured. The application will shut down." so I never get any possibility to see why.Again, my phone does not get updated. Since both programs crash there must be a serious problem with the downloaded files (and they're probably shared between the programs?).Apparently I'm not the only one experiencing it; I can see in a Norwegian forum that other people have the same problem - and in the original thread that you have hidden (!).
PS. The original thread was not mine; I just replied to it since I had the exact same problem. Regarding the new "moderation strategy" I believe that the above question is not rude, it's not spam - and reposting the question is necessary when the issue has not been resolved and the original thread has disappeared..

I had free navigation but my license has not expired so I would like to install the free update.
