Anybody knows if Nokia have plans to include Nautical Charts (vector charts like Navionics or CMap type) for the OviMaps application? Remember that iPhone has several options for this application and Google Android has plans for it too. I would like to have this on my 5230...
View 17 RepliesI have trouble getting maps om my new 5230. I have expanded the memory with a Scandisk 8 GB card. I have downloaded the mapsinstaller and installed it on my phone using PC-suite.I got the blue worldmap menu on my phone, but when I tries to check my position I only get a red dot on a blank screen and my GPS position, no maps.After I have downloaded the mapinstaller, must I download maps from somewhere else? Should I use the phone or the PC(PC suite to download maps? Is the mapinstaller and the maploader two different downloads?Iv'e been to http://maps.nokia.com and done the download at least a dozen times.

View 6 Replies View RelatedIf instructions upon page 77 of N9 UG (Eng) not clear enough you do need to download appropriate voice file with street names as none installed by default.After you have chosen "Walking person" icon > Get directions > Navigate you need to tap upon grey tool bar at base of screen After selecting Voice Guidance > tap on select voice to reveal choices available.

Maps 3.08 does not let me calibrate my compass (at least not by ticking once or twice at the compass). By consequence, while navigating it does not orientate the display with the top in the forward direction. I found a workaround by using a separate compass application, calibrate the compass there, and then Maps works perfect. There must be a easier way to calibrate the compass from within the Maps application.
View 8 Replies View RelatedNavigation used to work fine on my X6, but since having to do a hard reset of the phone (due to other problems!) I cannot use the Navigation.
Everytime I get the error 'navigation cannot start at this location' and it doesn't seem like the phone can ever pick up my location.I have tried un-installing and re-installing the application but to no-avail!I haven't even wasted my time calling Nokia Support, as they are totally useless!
getting very frustrated with this now. I have given my dad my N95 to help him get around but just cant get the map navigation to work. I downloaded the Nokia Map Loader (I had to go to a third party website as the Nokia links were all broken) and have the map/voices but when my dad tries to use the navigation it tells him he has to pay.Obviously, I know that Nokia have now made these services free to complete with other company's devices, I'm just being stupid and not going to the right place to download them. Overall very happy. Does Drive have turn by turn navigation wih specific names and exits? Right now it only says stuff like "turn now".
I have a Nokia 500 with Belle installed (vers: 111.021.0028) and Nokia Suite vers 3.6.36.On the 17.12.2012 I've installed the latest version of Romania maps: 00.02.47.103 and since then I get the same error message 'car navigation cannot start at this location'. I can access the maps, I get the correct position but the problem occurs when I try to navigate to any address. It doesn't seem to have an actual issue with the location because I've tried several locations in Bucharest and got the same error.

After that I wanted to check the map update and when I open the Nokia maps it just shows that application is open and then after 3-5 seconds it closes. I really need to use Nokia maps.

Nokia maps engine consuming 6MB ram which consists following sub apps- a)maps 0029b6cb)s2gvariantserv.exec)syncshareserver.exed)maplauncher.exee)NPS.exeAnother application running is2. Nokia maps consuming around 2.4MB which consists following apps-a)map_0x20001f63.exeb)OvimapsinstallprocesscleanerWhen I close maps properly from EXIT button, only the second application goes off from open apps. The first application consuming 6MB of ram just stays in the ram until I reboot. Thus reducing the precious free ram. This was not the case with earlier 3.06 version.

Now I have this problem with the Nokia Suite not upgrading firmware without the sim card.I use nokia now mostly as a GPS and a Wi-fi net browsing device, so I would like to get the new map version since the current one (v3.01 09wk44 b01) keeps crashing when synchronizing favs. I downloaded the .sis file from softpedia (v3.03 10wk11 b04) but get certificate errors when trying to install it. Does anybody know where can I get a signed map, latest version for nokia n95, with a fix for the sync crash? (It does get sync'ed but closes every time)

I use it pretty often as i need to travel alot.But there is something that i dont really understand, is how can i use Nokia Drive without having internet connection, with this i mean no wifi or 3G or whatever so i dont have any connection, can i use it or not, and how?Because when im abroad, and normally my roaming is set off, but when i enter adress it cant find location etc, because i dont have connection, so i need to set my roamin on for just finding the location and then i set it off, but it is stupid tbh.I did predownload map where im in etc etc, altho i read on noika that it is possible to use it without connection but ... maybe i miss something?

View 3 Replies View Relatedtried to update my v3.06 11wk23 b05, version 0.2.45.109 to the "new" v3.08 but ovi suite doesn't recognise it.
i have tried multiple ways of getting it but i am not succeeding.
(1) ovi suite (with phone connected) would only do a country update (new zealand)
(2) ovi store via mobile service tells me i have v.308 but a physical check as per above clearly states i ony have v3.06.
(3) software update on the N8 doesn't recognise a maps update.
(4) i have tried the "updates" in the maps application itself but comes up with "the most recent map is already installed on your phone. no updates available. your map version: 00.02.45.109 release date: 30.11.2011"
how do i get the latest version of Nokia Maps v3.08 for N8 if all sources have failed?
My map on Nokia E6 does not work properly. when I compare it with my friends, when he click on the map icon, there is some icons for driving, walking and .... but mine directly go into a map without any options! my other options like driving and weather is ubder application folder seperately.

View 6 Replies View RelatedOvi map 3.03 for S60 V3.1 with free navigation has been released on China's Nokia official website..When I select E72 and click on the "download" button, the file name is "nokia_ maps_ 3[1]. 03_ 10wk11_ b04_ s60_ 3.1_ rom_china.NOCS.sis", which is totally different from the file downloaded from Nokia Europe.I successfully installed it in my E71 and it automatically became English UI. I test the navigation for walk or drive, it's completely free of charges. You just need to download the map and voice with map loader.Don't be confused by the file name.It will automatically adapt the language on your phone!!
