I upgraded the firmware on my N97 to 2.1 the other day and have had no problems since. This evening, after a reboot (no new software installed), it won't allow me to enter my 5 digit lock code. The keys are unresponsive. I've tried removing the battery etc..., but it's still the same. I want to avoid a hard reset if possible, as there is some info that is not backed up.
View 4 RepliesI turned on Auto Lock for the 5530. It prompted me for my lock code so i used the default factory lock code 12345. That worked, but then it told me that "Lock Code Expired". Then a New Lock Code screen comes up. I entered a new code, lets say 123456. Confirmed the code. Then I get an error message saying "Must contain both letters and numbers". But the 5530 only allows me to enter numbers and symbol characters. There are no letters to enter. So I am totally locked out of my phone.
I tried a hard reset RED + GREEN + Photo buttons but that did not work.
I've lost the 4 digit user selected security lock code which is required to reset the phone.Virgin says Samsung should help recover the code and Samsung says Virgin should help recover the code.A while back, I found a code on the web that allowed me to go into a service menu which listed among other things the lock code. I can't find any information on how to get back into that menu.
By the way, yes, I tried the last 4 digits of the phone number, 0000, 9999, 1234.If anyone knows how to get into the service menu on this phone
The only codes I've found so far are:##786# which gets into an info menu but doesn't have the lock code.##33284# which requires a 6-digit security code which I don't know.
I can send or receive data to only nokia phones. I can search the other mobile through Bluetooth but when I tried to connect (send or receive) which will ask for a verification code like 6 digit numbers like xxx xxx.

But when I enter the master code it says "code error" too. I tried to hardware reset , but when i hold 3,* & green buttons and turn it on, phone asks me "continue using the phone in offline mode? " (it asks since when i tried to enter deference codes for several times), and i should to answer this and press other keys instead of these 3 buttons, so it didn't work too, I opened it key pad and clean again,but it couldn't help.

View 17 Replies View RelatedEvery time I try to call a number (LAN LINE) that has a block on unidentified callers, I get the message "The number you are calling does not accept unidentified calls please enter your 10 digit phone number" The funny thing is that this problem just started to happen. A week ago it was fine. When I do call a number that is not blocked, my number comes up correctly on the caller ID but shows as unidentified. Sometimes, it shows up as international.Now, funny thing is that if I put my SIM in my Pearl, I can make calls no problem. There are two settings on the Bold under general options. One is called "Restrict My Identity" In this case, I have have it set to NEVER. I have also tried NETWORK DETERMINED, but neither of them make difference. The other setting is called "Show My Number" and this is set to YES.I have talked to AT&T until I am blue in the face. They say it is a problem with the phone and that it needs to be replaced. I hardly believe that. I have a friend with the same phone and it has the same problem.I did see some threads on this before in other forums, but never did see an answer to the problem.Finding a solution would be very nice.Already tried doing a factory reset and a security wipe on the phone.

It does go lower than the 9th attempt. I already tried rebooting it and factory resetting it and the phone it goes back to the 10th attempts and again it doesn't go any lower the the 9th attempt.

For some reason, although I have the 4 digit lock screen option set, I can swipe up and it will unlock.
When I go in to the Security menu and click on Screen Lock and enter my 4 digit code, the Pin option states the following:
"Because you've turned on an accessibility service, your device won't use your screen lock to enhamce data encryption"
I did have both the finger print option and the 4 digit lock screen option working together properly, but now it's not working properly.
The finger print option is working fine, what's wrong with the 4 digit lock screen option ?

im using nokia n79, after i restore the factory setting the phone didnt accept the lock code, before i restore the phone i was using the default lock code with out any problems!

Soon I made the update to v 31.0.101 (31.01.101.202.05).
The problem is that i cannot use now the lock code. I try 12345, because I did not change it never before. But the phone doesn't accept any lock code, it always say failure!
So, I cannot change or use the lock code of the phone.
[I did not try to use the lock code before the update, so I don't know if the problem was before too.]
[One strange thing: If I try another numbers differents of 12345, the fifth time the phone says wait 5 minutes; but if I try 12345, I can try it lots of times, never say wait 5 minutes]
