View 4 Replies View RelatedI wonder why I cannot download the new maps app. I have now (after upgrading to new SW v. 20 and hard reset) 29.8 Mb of free space on C and yet it fails....Could that be due to the fact that I deleted ( by ignorance ) some files on C when the previous SW version was running ? But since then I have reloaded the new SW version....I am at a loss...! Would somebody know how to make it work?
View 5 Replies View RelatedI can start to download them, then the process stops without any pop ups, so I start it again and it tells me it cannot reach maps at the moment. I've checked on wifi and 3G nothing seems to change.I was able to get the maps before I reseted my phone onto my xbox account.
View 2 Replies View RelatedWith the map loader it was possible to download the maps to a memory card (only after started once Ovi maps on the phone) without connect the phone to the computer. With Ovi suite it is not possible do it anymore.
please back this function. To download several GB I need time and download the maps directly on the memory card give me the possibility to use the phone normally.
When I start Nokia Map Loader application for dowloading maps on Nokia 5230 I get an error message saying :
The following errors occured while transferring files. If the error is not permanent, you can try starting the file transfers again.
config.cfg file couldn't been found. operation forbidden

I can't download maps on the phone because the region list is empty (it is not supposed to be). This happens every time I try to use the Map Loader. There are screenshots of the same problem on another forum: http://betalabs.nokia.com/apps/nokia-map-loader-fo r-mac/bugreport/configcfg-operation-forbidden.
I have problem to download maps into my phone (Nokia C6-00, last firmware v40.0.021). If I launch Ovi Suite (v3.1.1.90) and go to Maps section, screen "Connecting to the map service..." is displayed, but after while: "Couldn't connect to the service - There seems to be a problem with connecting to the online map service. If the problem doesn't go away, please try again later.".
I'm connected over WiFi and all is working normally. I tried connection over USB cable and bluetooth as well, restart computer and phone, reinstall Ovi Suite, format memory card, reinstall device software, reset to factory settings, full reset to initial state (*#7370#) but it wasn't worked.
Versions of the maps in my phone:
v3.06 11wk13 b01
MW OpenGL MN
Map version 0.2.44.110
If I launch maps in my phone and go to Update, there is option "Add new maps", after select appropriate map and click on Download is progress bar "Installing, please wait!" displayed, but process ends with error message "Map download failed!".
I'd like to download Own Voice for Nokia Maps in a X6-00 (16Gb) Symbian 5th edition phone. I tried to find it in the nokia store but I don't see the application there any more. I created a voice pack some time ago that I would like very much to use in a different phone.
View 19 Replies View RelatedI have nokia 5230 and a serious problem. After about one year of usage, the offline search of street names just did not work any more. I have made a complete software update yesterday. The new navigator said, there were no maps on my phone. When trying to download country maps, at about 40 % the grey downloading indicator at the bottom disappears and green download clock starts turning and turning and turning, nothing happens any more (every time same scenario). I have the newest ovi suite, even uninstalled and reinstalled it yesterday. Naigation was actually the only feature I use frequently.
View 7 Replies View RelatedIn a nutshell, I have my N97 mini setup and connecting to the internet perfectly, letting me navigate to web pages as normal. Despite this, when I try using OVi maps, or even Google maps it will not connect to the internet.. "Connection Failed" Every time. It will ask me which connection to use - I select the connection I use for the internet and it does not work. I have also tried using the WAP connection which also, does not work!
View 7 Replies View RelatedA while ago I upgraded the Ovi Maps app on my N97 Mini to the latest version, the one with free navigation and a new menu screen. It worked fine for a few days. Now it refuses to work: When I start the application, no matter what I do or which sub-menu I enter, the application exits/dies in a few seconds and I'm back to the phone's main menu screen.
I uninstalled and reinstalled the app from Ovi Store, but the same nonsense is happening again. The app just does not work for more than 10 seconds. Even if I keep entering data or going from one sub menu to another, within 10 seconds of starting the app, it disappears and I'm back to the main menu. (I've checked to see that the app is not continuing in the background. It's not it truly is gone.
I just bought a new n97 mini through vodafone in aus. I got it unlocked so i could put my optus sim in.I downloaded the ovi maps application and went to use it. The ovi maps app works with my wlan internet at home but when I try to use my 3G optus network internet it says "connection unavailable- please try again"?
I can access my 3G optus network for all other internet purposes on my phone except ovi maps. What is wrong with it?
Just downloaded and installed the new free Ovi Maps on my Nokia n97 mini. looks great, works great except I cannot see anywhere to purchase or activate Traffic/Speed camera updates! Are these settings free now too or do I need to buy the updates like before? and if so where?
View 5 Replies View RelatedA colleague who owns the N97 mini has just installed maps, and after rebooting his phone, it won't start it displays the white 'NOKIA' screen for approx 1 minute before switching off (it's fully charged). No key presses etc help, we can't get past the nokia screen.
He then asked me to reboot my N97 (not mini) and sure enough have the same issue, however after several attempts at switching on, I've managed to get mine to start, by seemingly pressing random buttons. I've tried this a few times now, and by repeatedly pressing right on the D pad, enter, and the camera button, my phone starts OK.
I only received my phone back from repair yesterday, and it was freshly flashed with the latest '3' firmware (my colleagues N97 mini is a virgin branded phone), and OVI maps was a suggested update yesterday nothing else has been installed on my phone since that.
I installed some maps and Voices on my Nokia N97 mini using Ovi maps 3.03. The installed Voices can be shown within the app (Navigation setup, installed Voices are marked). But I cannot check if the maps I downloaded are installed properly! I tried to check with Noia Ovi Suite 2.1.1.1 and it says "No maps installed". Same problem with Nokia Maps loader 3.0.24.0. It's no matter if I install the maps using Map Loader or Ovi Suite -> same problem. Well, I installed the maps on External Memory Card - but this should not be the problem?!

View 8 Replies View RelatedI'm attempting to use Map Loader 3.0.28.0 to load Maps onto my N97 Mini ( software version 10.0.020, 14-10-09 ), on which I have installed the latest Maps version ( 3.03 10wk01 b05 ). I've run this Maps more than once, and the cities folder exists on my E: ( Mass Memory ) drive. There is no 'F:' drive ( i.e. no memory card ). When I connect my phone to the PC, I start it in PC Suite mode. Using PC Suite 7.1, I am able to interact with my phone.
When I start Map Loader, it says 'You have connected at least one phone without a valid Maps drive. Either you are using an old Maps version - then you must update your Maps application or reconnect your phone in mass storage mode - or you have never started your Maps application - then you have to start the Maps application once and restart Map Loader'. Connecting in Mass Storage mode does not seem to help.

However, the same is working on the wireless network.I have probably reset my phone to factory settings/repaired the installation atleast 3 times in the past for other problems such as missing entries in call logs, slow response, etc. I am on Anrdroid 2.1 Random reboots happen almost thrice a week and phone response is very slow. I think I should go back to my blackberry.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a N85 Navi which I bought less than a year ago. I updated this week the maps and the application (latest version)and added one voice for the navigation. After this update when I open the Maps and select Settings and Navigation (to change i.e. voice), Maps closes automatically without any error messages. I can open all the other settings sub-menus. Any ideas why this is happening? Do I have the to re-install the application, maps and voices?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI am using Nokia Maps 3.03 on my E71 (language: German) plus Nokia Map Loader 3.0, but I am experiencing several problems: Nokia Maps goes online via Internet for a few seconds (which costs me) although I set it to my Wireless connection. How can I switch that off? Every time I load a new map (and voices) via Map Loader and then start the software on my E71, it tells me that the maps are out-dated and I need to delete them. But then I do not see any maps in the software, and also the load of the voice is gone.

I have a problem with my Maps Application. Firstly I only have 9 icons on the Maps display page instead of the 10 that is shown on the Nokia website, I have found I do not have the Michelin guides........any ideas why?
I cannot download the Here and Now 2.0, it states that the Installation failed and have tried many times to reinstall it. Does this have anything to do with the missing Michelin Guide icon not being there?
I updated today to Maps 3.01. (To be noted that Ovi Suite still considers there is a new version of Maps available and would download and install 3.01 again any times I click on update.) When starting Maps the load screen with progress bar appears, then I can see an "empty" map. No keys work. After a few seconds (around 10 or so) the phone restarts.I deleted Cities folder and the file QF, rebooted, reinstalled etc. nothing helps.
View 8 Replies View RelatedThe maps in my Nokia X6 16gb are gone after i ran an update in which it says will delete the old maps and voices to replace newer ones. Upon completion of the update, when i checked maps that are available in my device,Instead of new updated maps, there is only 1 map left which is Hong Kong and Macau, and i don't live in either one of it. Tried downloading the maps through the Ovi Suite, always got the message "The connection to the Ovi Maps server timed out"
View 11 Replies View RelatedI've bought a new 5800 Xpress music recently and have three questions with Ovi maps:
1. I don't see any satellite (photo) maps when selecting the satellite mode in the display options; instead, the map is just filled with a pattern of alternating dark green and light green linear areas. How do I enable real satellite data, as shown in the attached picture?
2. The update speed of the map when navigating on foot or by car seems very slow. Is there some way to increase / improve this?
3. The phone doesn't seem to recognize really well if I hold it vertically or horizontally. Can I improve that behavior, or switch between manually?
