Nokia :: N97 - Not Charging - And Then It Charges Again And Then It Doesn't
Jul 9, 2010
My Nokia N97 use to be in perfect condition and would charge every time i plug it in. However, lately whenever I plug it in, it charges and then it stops and says "Unplug charger from power supply to save energy" and then it says "Not Charging" and then it charges again and then it doesn't. The light near the charging slot always turn on and off multiple times. I have to play around with the charger and plug it in and out multiple times to get it to work. When it finally starts to charge, it takes extremely long to charge. It used to charge quick but now it take hours. Also, if it is charging, and I accidently touch the phone or the cord, it will immediately stop charging. Then I have to play around with the cord again so it will charge.
Windows 7, iphone 4g, all up to date firmwar, software and operating systems on phone, computer and itunes.Diagnostic on USB ports come back as fine and working. Itunes doesnt detect phone and in my computer the iphone is not showing up as a detected device. I have removed and deleted everyone apple component and software that is on my computer and reinstalled.Still nothing.

My iPhone 3GS it's new i brought from USA on December I'm from Mexico and I lost my original USB cable o bought a generic one and the problem appears the device only when it's turned OFF charges when it's turned ON is'nt recognized via iTunes neither charges...
last nite i connected the usb cable it was working but now itz just charging it does'nt give me data storage. I have tried a different cable also but its the same thing..
The one I played with in the store yesterday didn't have prongs for a pod. Anyone else bummed that the Torch doesn't have charging prongs on it for use in a pod?
With both the charger and the USB charging, the screen shows charging, the battery meter runs as if charging, but even after an hour of charging, the charge remains the same and immediately shows low battery
Couldn't find anything answering this directly. I've just bought a 5320 on a payg tariff. If use GPS with assisted GPS and/or network-based GPS enabled will I incur any charges?
I'm having trouble using the GPS function w/o a data plan. I have set A-GPS off but I still seem to be flowing data and getting charged for it.My network is USA AT&T and I have an unlocked phone.I need help soon please as I need to use this in Alaska next week.
Have a Nokia 5230 with GPS. Am currently in Australia (live in New Zealand) for a couple of weeks and am just a little concerned now that the GPS may be getting some assistance from the local cellular network and don’t want to get home and find a Vodafone bill that equals the current deficit of Great Britain! When turn on Maps a warning comes up "Connection to network may be more costly when out of home network. In Position methods have turned off Network based but there is still an option called Assisted GPS “it wont work with this turned off” what is it does anyone know? Still have Integrated GPS selected but still needs that Assisted GPS for the GPS to work.
I was using my x6 when the battery died, now after charging it, it wont switch on?If i push the power button, nothin happens atall? If i plug in the charger the phone lights up and the displays the nokia logo, it also responds to touches.Any advise or help please?I have tried a hard reset (green, red, camera and power buttons) but it doesnt switch on this is the problem?
My n97 will charge and the screen be on the white nokia charging screen.. but when i press the power button on top, nothing happens. I don't understand why this is happening at all.
Hi! Does anyone know of a way to get voicemail recorded directly on the phone? Say somebody calls you and your phone is on but you don't answer, the phone records the message to the memory? I know my old Sanyo phone could do it, but can the Nokia 6275i or any phone for that matter? Thanks!
I downloaded a game a couple of months ago and the purchase was successful. However, I'm still being charged for the game every month. The game info didn't indicate any type of subscription to the product. I'm really tired of being charged every few weeks for the game that I supposedly already purchased and I already send them an email trying to get an answer but I haven't gotten a response yet.
I misplaced my phone and the battery drained down to zero and shut itself off. I plugged it into charge about an hour ago (into a wall, not a computer). A red light came on for about thirty seconds and then shut off. The battery charging icon that is supposed to appear hasn't. I unplugged it and tried again a minute ago, and its the same thing. It doesn't turn on or show any sign of being responsive exept for that thirty seconds of solid red light.
I've putted my bb on charge at night and when I woke up I couldn't turn on my phone... but the red led light on the right top corner were still on..I tried to take of the battery 10 sec and put it back in, no success then I connected the phone without the battery and tried to turn it on, a battery icon appeared with an X on it,but still no success.I tried to press 3 times on the button wich turn on the phone, (recommended by my technical support provider to make a reset), it didn't worked either.I went on internet to try to find something to do, there are a lot of persons who has the same problem, but nobody seems to know how to get raid of it...
n ot even had it 6 hours and i got it put battery in it turned it on done toutorial turned it off like asked turned it on then thurned it off again and now it wont turn on attall ive left the batery charging for a good 3 hour sbut the charging light doesn't blink like its ment to if the chargers disconnected when i put the battery in all it doens is the light has a solid red light for ten seconds
I took a road trip last week and weekend and noticed that when under heavy use, my milestone will discharge even when plugged into the charger. From a functional standpoint, my milestone did great. I listened to an entire baseball game steamed with the MLB app over ATTs (mostly 3G) network. (Several places in S GA on I75 dont have 3G but the streaming app did pretty well over EDGE). I also use Google Nav and had my screen on since it was sitting on my car dock. After 4-5 hours of use my milestone was pretty warm and had quite a bit less battery life even though it was on the charger the entire time. I am guessing the GPS is a huge power draw, but what about having the screen on all the time. I would think that as long as the device is plugged into a power source, it should be good to go.
I have noticed that when my Droid Razr is off and I plug in my charger the status led blinks once and the charging screen starts up and charging begins - as expected. However sometimes when I plug in the charger the status led blinks once but then the charging screen does not start and charging does not start - I have noticed that if I then press the power on button the charging screen starts up and charging commences. Is this normal?
Once again my charging problems are back! It must be my battery because I have done a batttery pull and still its not charging properly! It shows the charging signal as tho it is charger but the battery never moves I have never seen anything like this! Looks like I'm goin to have to buy a whole new battery.
Something is definitely suss with my battery or what it is reading. I took it off the charger and it immediately became 98%. Then it became 96%. I put it back on the charger and my phone isn't giving an estimated charging time. Wtf...
When I connect my phone to a wall charger (provided my Motorola), the touch screen responds rarely (slowly). As soon you disconnect the charger it works fine. I had talked to Motorola specialist over the phone and she provided me with a new charger. However, the problem still persists.
Yesterday, I used a Blackberry charger (with very close voltage and current output) and the phone worked fine.
As of this morning, my phone no longer charges using the supplied Samsung charger. Additionally, when I UNPLUG the cable from my computer or the wall, I receive a notification saying "The dock is connected" which is obviously odd as I have actually just disconnected the cabling. Along with this message, the docking audible is heard when plugging in the charger on either the computer or the wall.
When I plug into my computer, the phone is no longer recognized as a USB device either which makes it difficult to back anything up at this point.
I do not have the lighting bolt or any blinking LED's while the charging cable is plugged in.
So far I have done the following to troubleshoot - tried different cable on both the computer and wall - power cycled the phone multiple times - checked for system updates. I am up to date. - cleaned / blown out the charging port - cleared system cache
I have not yet done a factory reset for obvious (last resort) reasons.
Nokia E6 with Symbian Belle Refresh which I bought just a couple of days ago.It does not detect wifi internet connections at all, although they are available. When I go to settings -> connectivity and then select wifi, it searches connection for a while and then shows that none are found. Meanwhile, my old Nokia E72 remains connected to my home wifi without any problem... I am really surprised and disappointed. Also when I try to set up the connection manually, it doesn't work at all.I can't believe that such a device is being sold, a wifi connection is something extremely necessary nowadays in a smartphone. I was so attached to Nokia but I feel like it is my last Nokia phone because this is just unbelievable
I was just looking at Bell's rate plan promotions for the iPhone 4 and I noticed it said
From July 30 to September 30th get 6GB of data for only $30 per month with unlimited Wi-Fi in over 750 locations.
Now I was thinking is this a some sort of marketing tactic, to make some people think you normally really do have to pay, or do you actually normally have to pay?
So i went to the apple store because my phone was not charging and they told that it was water damage but it was not because i made a proffesional check my iphone. he than said that it was the thing were you plug the chrager to charge.after all of that my iphone 4 started charging when it was off but when i turn it back on it would not chrage, now it only charges when its off and not on. it even doesnt show the chraging sign on the statues bar at the top
A colleague mentioned they have been charged for using FaceTime by their UK provider? It got me thinking, although it uses wifi to carry out the call, it initiates as a standard phone call so even when it switches to wifi does it still maintain that cellular connection and then the call comes out of your inclusive minutes or charges you? It got me thinking because if the new iPod does get FaceTime, with no cellular connection they obviously cant initiate the call in the same way the iPhone 4 does. Which then led me to think if you just go straight to the FaceTime button in the contacts app and use that does that go straight to a FaceTime call and therefore does not do anything cellular?
