Nokia :: N95 - Synchronization That Makes Mp3 Untraceble
Mar 28, 2010
Something is wrong with the mp3 function of my Nokia N95. Last night when I loaded some new files into it, and asked the system to refresh, it took a long time, all the while showing a deliberating sign. I finally stopped it, and found to my horror, that instead of the addition of the new files, the size of the mp3 library had been reduced from around 1300 items to 50. The stranger thing is how come the remaining 50 remained--some of the 50 are placed in exactly the same file container as arranged from the computer-format.
I took some time to move the files around in the computer-format (as can be seen there, all files still exist), and got the result that most of the 50 also disappeared (from the cellphone-format), though leaving a title that canāt be clicked open (like a company with telephone numbers but no one answering them, and a working place where no one works! By contrast, the first great majority to disappear leave no title). In a way, this makes more sense, since the disappearing pattern becomes less random and inexplicable. But some still remain, and the others in the same file container do not.
How to solve this bewildering and annoying glitch. (to my ignorant knowledge of digital things, it seems most likely to be a virus attack.)
i'm using a nokia n8 phone and i used to keep a copy of my photos and videos on my pc using nokia suite, i just clicked on the gallery sync. button and it was done.i recently bought a new memory card and i started downloading videos by the (Internet downloader) app. i have now like 7gb of videos on my memory card.the problem is that now every time i try to sync. the gallery, nokia suite makes a copy of all downloaded videos on my computer. is it possible to set nokia suite to sync. only the photos and the videos taken by the camera and ignore the downloaded videos?
When I play music with my play 360 the bluetooth button starts to make noise, it rattles against its housing. It even does it with the start up sound, it is very anoying becouse I payed alot of money for this speaker, and this noise just ruins the music.
The only way to stop it is to put something against the button, to obstruct it from moving.Do other users experience the same? and what sould I do, contact nokia? contact the place where I bought it? or does every play 360 have it?
As I receive an SMS message while the 800 is Bluetooth connected to my Handsfree Car Kit the Kit makes a fake call. The call is not registered by the 800.Lumia 800 Renault Espace IV 2010 Carminat original car kit...Before, I used a Nokia 6310 in the same car, so I guess it is the Lumia launching this call.I am driving accross the border a lot and suddenly find myself trying to close an outgoing call I never made.
Downloaded MfE 3.00.050 to my E71. Found that periodic synchronization first deletes the contents of my in box and sent box, and then downloads emails from the last day. (I do have the sync setting for emails for the last day). In other words, every x minutes I'm downloading a lot of data. Very inconvenient as it takes several minutes to sync, and also very expensive to sync while roaming on travel out of the country.
Also, my prior version of MfE would update the read flag on emails. Now a periodic sync now ignores whatever was done on my phone, and every x minutes I now have all the emails I read showing up as unread. Is there a way to fix this? I've tried both the server wins and phone wins settings, and there does not seem to be a difference.
Is there a problem with this service today? I have noticed that since this morning email synchronization is not working. I cannot log onto the nokia email website either.Does anybody know where one can check the service status of this service?
by synchronizing ovi suite 2.2.0.245 with Microsoft outlook 2003 (11.8313.8324) SP3 under windows xp sp3 the suite try to synchronize with outlook but nothing will work.
I installed the OVI, and I found i can't synchronize the outlook calendars, which i get the error code 8xxxxxx. I remove all Nokia software as one post indicated.
I removed pc suite, ovi suite, pc connection, cable software etc.
I delete all the data in c:program filescommon files; c:documents and settings<username>application data okia, c:documents and settings<username>local settingsapplication data okia,
And I reinstall pc suite 7.1.40. Then i get a big problem that when i try to sync, i get the error that File access is denied, You do not have the permission required to access the file C:Documents and Settings<username>Local SettingsApplication DataMicrosoftOutlookOutlook.ost"
I can't even sync my contact in outlook now! my system is windows xp sp2 , my phone is nokia e71
My Nokia 5800 Navigation edition has some serious issues. I'm wondering if it was in a bad batch.
1) I can text, email, surf, but I CANT call people. When I try to call people, it says "emergency calls only."
2) All of the icons/email preview does not show up on the home page. Even after a hard reset they were still not there.I also tried putting my SIM card into another phone, and it worked perfectly fine, but when I put that person's SIM card into my Nokia phone, it had the same problem. Is there ANYTHING I can do to fix it? I only bought it in December, so I'm hoping Nokia will just send me a new one.I'm a Mac guy who also has an interest in Symbian/Android.
About every second time I synchronize my N96 with both my PC and my contacts on ovi.com, ovi suite states an error. ("Synchronization failed ...")
In general, synchronizing contacts between ovi suite and ovi.com is taking ages.
I think reliabiliy and speed of this feature still needs A LOT of improvement...
(Although that applies to some other features as well... for example bluetooth connection, which is completely useless for me: /t5/Nokia-Ovi-Suite/bluetooth-sync-extremely-slow/m-p/656359)
Each time I sync my 5800 NAM Xpressmusic with Ovi Suite, it resets all ringtones for either groups or individuals. I am not synchronizing all items. I am only synchronizing Contacts, Messaging, Calendar and Notes.
Here is my system information: Nokia Ovi Suite 2.0.2.42 Nokia PC Suite 7.1.40.1 Nokia Music 1.3.20722.1 Nokia Photos 1.6.434.0 PC Connectivity Solution 9.45.0.0 Connectivity Cable Driver 7.1.23.0 Nokia Ovi Suite Software Updater 2009.40.0.60128 Maps Service API 3.0.38.0 Nokia mPlatform 2.6.40 Ovi Desktop Sync Engine 1.1.0.77 Operating system: Microsoft Windows XP 32-bit Edition, Service Pack 3 Language: English
I newly installed the latest Ovi Suite 2.2.0.245 and it crashes when synchronisation with Outlook 2003 is initiated. Syncing the messages works. OS is Vista 32-bit. I could send a dump-file to the Nokia support, if desired.
I have a Nokia 5230 with software version 20.0.005 and I am running Nokia Ovi Suite 2.1.1.1 on Vista 64 bit.I connect either by bluetooth or USB. With this it is possible to synchronize messages, music and pictures. However, when synchronizing the calender or contacts with bluetooth Ovi Suite simply crashes. When synchronizing with the USB cable it gives either the message: "Sync Canceled Could not sync contacts. Reconnect the USB cable to your device or connect via Bluetooth. Then sync again. Error code: 80043c93" When synchronizing the calender it gives the message: "Sync Canceled Could not sync calender items and tasks. Reconnect the USB cable to your device or connect via Bluetooth. Then sync again."I have configered Ovi Suite to synchronize with Microsoft Outlook.Do you have any solution to this problem.
I upgraded my Nokia 5800 to the latest firmware (US: 40.2.005). I'm not sure I like this new firmware. When a calendar event alarm surfaces on the touchscreen (new buttons in this firmware), if the keypad is locked, the touchscreen is unresponive when attempting to hit the STOP or SNOOZE button. Strangely, the calendar alarm recurs with the normal touchscreen message (old firmware) subsequently and is responsive to the buttons (despite a keypad lock). Please advise how I can eliminate one of the two repeat calendar alarms or make the new calendar alarm responsive to touch when my keypad is locked. I try to unlock the keypad and it does not work during this time.
This phone is def faster than my TP1 but since the processors and memory number are the same, was this phone more a software upgrade than hardware? Being not that much different, why did HTC drop support for it vs. offering winmo 6.5 even though im fully aware you TP1 owners are running 6.5. How is it responding on your TP1's?
When playing music, and opening the camera app, or any app that would create a sound (like a new message incoming), the music player stops. Is this normal?
Its really annoying when listening to music on headphones, and the music stops/pauses for any sound that might occur.
I'd like to share a few video clips that I think shows the biggest difference in audio when the Theater mode is enabled with the BoomSound. When you toggle between both music and theater modes, it sounds almost like you're right there (in my opinion)
A couple of weeks ago I slept through my alarm, at least that's what I thought had happened. When I woke up some time later, there was a notification that I had missed an alarm. It seemed strange, since I've never not been woken by the sound of an alarm before.
The alarm worked fine for the six months before that, and has been working fine for the last few weeks.
Today I was awake before my alarm went off. I then watched my phone screen light up with the alarm, but no sound. I turned off the alarm and waited for my backup alarm. Same thing - no sound.
I did not have Do Not Disturb mode turned on. I almost always keep my phone on silent, and the alarm has always worked. I'm using the default Samsung clock/alarm app.
If it's as simple as using a different alarm app, that's an easy fix, although it doesn't leave me with much faith in Samsung. My concern is that it's a system issue. Unfortunately since it seems to be a sporadic issue, testing the alarm isn't going to tell me definitively if I've been able to fix the issue. Unless I can identify exactly what is causing the problem, I'm going to have to buy a dedicated alarm clock because I can't risk missing an alarm again.
I have recently been configuring all the sounds on my phone so that when I am asleep in bed I am not woken up by various vibrations or notification sounds. With this in mind, I also wanted to ensure that if I was called up in case of an emergency then I would still hear my phone ringing.Because of this, I don't want to mute my phone or have to remember to change settings each night (which is annoying on it's own!) So, I now have everything working as I would like with the exception of new mail. I have set the sound to none - which I am sure used to work. As previously this stops the vibration however now, it still makes the 'ding' when new mail comes in. Surely if I set the 'New Mail' sound to 'none', then this is what should happen. So, what am I missing? There doesn't appear to be a setting in the notification section for muting the notification sound. I am using an iPhone 4 with iOS 5.1
Looking at the new Lumias specs, I see a "Mac Computer Companion" under "Synchronization".
1. Is this software available only for new WP8 phones, or also for older Lumias with WP7.x?(1a. BTW, will it be possible to update the older Lumias to WP8?)
2. Does this software synchronize contacts and calendar entries with AddressBook and iCal? Windows Phone 7 Connector for Mac only syncs photos and music, which is useless for me.
3. Does it require an USB cable, or does it also work over Bluetooth or WiFi?
I have a new X3-02 which was updated via Ovi-suite v3.1.1.90I then copied contacts from sim to phone, then synced. At this point, the contacts page in Ovi just shows the little dotted circles just endlessly spinning.Any ideas anyone? I bought this phone *because* I am supposed to be able to manage my contacts via the suite! Very frustrating.
Just bought the Bold 9700 on Thursday and was busy setting it up over the weekend. When I actually had my kids call the phone to make sure I had set up the ringtones, LED, and vibrations correctly I noticed that everytime someone was talking the speaker will vibrate with the voice coming from the speaker. Doesn't do it when you have it on speakerphone - there is not vibration noise from the voicemail voice or from anyone's voice, but if you have the actual phone up to your ear using it normally, the speaker makes a vibration sound/noise when the person calling you talks. Even when I place the call to them and they talk I still get that vibration noise. I have also tried lowering the volume, but the vibration is still there even though the voice is not very loud. Is this normal for this phone? Or is this a faulty phone that I should get replaced? I had a Bold 9000 and never got that vibration when someone was talking to me on that phone. But I thought I would see if anyone had heard of this problem and might think it is just the particular phone I got and not all Bold 9700s.
I just got a bold 9900. Problem is that the device reboots when using GPS. So I turned turned location services to off. I tried to upgrade the OS to v7.1.0.714. Still no chance in using the GPS without the device rebooting. I wiped the device and again same problem.
People most often send the phone back to the mobile carrier but I was wondering if any other solution exist?
whenever i try to take a picture with my phone it makes this annoying clicking sound, like a really old computer trying to do somthing? i dont know how to explain it... its very quiet and clicks whenever i try to take a picture, its not just once in a while. when i put my ear up close to the phone i can tell the sound is not coming from my speaker, it is coming from the camera, i had just gotten this phone new after blackberry was unable to fix my other one, and i had a loner phone for almost 3 months, and i dont want to take it in to my carrier again as i had just gotten the phone back and dont want another loner... the pictures it takes are acceptable, not the best...
I'm on my 3rd new Torch & this latest one rattles when I'm on a phone call. It sounds like when someone has the volume too high & the person on the other end is shouting but I don't have the volume very high at all & can still hear the noise. It doesn't sound this way on speakerphone, only when I hold the phone to my ear.
