View 9 RepliesI just bought the n900 and it's great but I ran into bit of a problem regarding Conversations and SMS. Somehow, every message I recieve is timestamped 5 Hours behind my time. I live in Toronto, Canada and my settings for Time and Date + World Clock are all set to reflect my time zone (+5 GMT) When I reply, it posts the correct time.
Example-
Me: Hey (05:02 pm)
Person: wsup (12:03 pm)
Me: nm (05:04 pm)
It's quite unpleasant to see the times all messed up. I've double checked all the basic settings and nothing points to a solution.
In the past week, my D4 has been putting incorrect time stamps on incoming text messages when using certain non-stock text messaging apps. All received texts (regardless of sender) are stamped 4 hours earlier than when they were actually sent. Makes threaded messaging a real pain.
Stock text message app is fine, as is Handcent. The problem seems to be isolated to GO SMS Pro (my preferred SMS app) and ICS Messaging (stock ICS-like). I have uninstalled both and reinstalled with no change.
I'm a new user to nokia E72, though i have been using nokia phones for about 5 years now. when i receive a text message while my e72 was switched off, it doesn't show the exact time the sender sent the message. instead it shows the time the text message receieved to my phone when i switch on my device. as an example i swtiched off my phone at 10pm night and my friend sent me a message at 11 pm.. and then i switch on the phone again at 12 midnight and i recieve his message at 12.01am and in it time stamp it shows the message receieved at 12.01am instead the correct time when my friend sent me the message at 11pm i have checked this with other nokia phones example 6630 and so on. in them it shows the exact time the sender sent the message what's wrong in my nokia E72? how can i correct it?
View 9 Replies View RelatedIn my message threads, for any messages I have sent it gives the time of the text message in the bottom right of the message. However for any that I have received it only gives the date.
Not the end of the world I know but can be handy to have the time.Is this something that is possible or do I just have to live with it?
how can i see what time my text messages have been sent and received?

Didn't know where else to put this, since Idk if it's a 9550 only thing or all BB's, but when I receive a text message I like to know when I received it, or how long ago. But whenever I tap the received message it always says received one minute ago, unless it was on an earlier date. But, if I get a text at 8am and check it at noon, then tap on it, it says received one minute ago. Any way to fix this?
View 13 Replies View RelatedBought a sim-free 920 from Phones 4 U and set the date and time correctly on setup, but have noticed on two occasions that the time and date were displayed incorrectly.
I have also noted that switching to "set automatically" does not alter the time and date correctly. When I first got the phone it was set to Automatic. After the first time I noticed the incorrect time/date, I set it manually, but for some strange reason, it happened again: the date and time were incorrect.
I have set it manually again, and waiting for the problem to re-occur...
I have an excellent X2-00. But the timesetting for Caracas in Venezuela is incorrect. The differenceto european summertime should be of 6 and a half hours. This is due to a change that the venezuelan authorities made about 2 years (2009) ago. How is it possible that the new (bought at the end of 2010) X2-00 still marks a time difference of full hours?
View 5 Replies View RelatedI just got the E72 from a friend 2 days ago. However, I'm noticing that for incoming texts and calls, it shows that the time received is 4 hours behind from when I've actually received it. The time on my phone is set and the time on outgoing texts and call are fine but incoming texts and calls are inaccurate. Is there any way to fix this?I live in Vancouver BC, Canada and my friend got this phone for me in Hong Kong. Does that affect anything.

View 8 Replies View RelatedI receive messages from people hours after they tell me they sent them but when I receive them it has the current time listed, as if it was just sent. It would be fantastic to know the msg was sent at 10am and now being 2:30pm, I can have a better reply. It's definitely with the phone, because I know a few of the people have the same service provider but different phones. When messages are received on my wifes phone, it shows when they were sent, not the current time. I've looked at my settings but do not see a way to change this, is there a way?
View 2 Replies View RelatedMy N900 has stopped playing the handshake at boot up time, it only did it a few times early on, maybe 3 times, but now it never does, and the media player has never played any video, either the '9' preview, or any other. mplayer works fine. It has been suggested that it's broke, but dmesg does not indicate any devices not working correctly. And everything else works. The only issue I have is excessive battery consumption.
View 17 Replies View RelatedI jailbroke my iphone 4 and all is well.. its great actually, but I noticed earlier today the time was correct at 5:30 this afternoon but it displayed it as 5:30 AM. So I powered off the phone and when it rebooted it was correct. I just noticed again right now its midnight exactly, it displays 2:03 AM. When I check New York city on the world clock, it displays 2:03 AM.
View 10 Replies View RelatedMy phone time and date is correct, yet the time and date of receiving text messages is incorrect. I've now received 2 texts from different people, both showing an incorrect date. The date above the text messages says Sun 4 Jun 2017. I have sent 2 different texts, the time shown on the sent ones is correct.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI've had a few problems with my Nokia E51. I got the phone from my uncle who didn't like it after initially buying it. He bought it for O2 but I'm with Vodafone.
Anyways I got the phone unlocked and put my vodafone sim in and it worked fine. I changed the settings around on wap as well so it goes to vodafones homepage instead of o2's and it was working grand.
Then problems started with it. Firstly, I received a text one day and when i went to open it the phone just froze. It wouldnt let me look at the text and every button i pressed didnt do anything. The screen just stayed the same.
I tried turning off and on and taking battery out but everytime i turned it back on the text would appear 'one new text message' and the phone would still be frozen.
After a few months I tried the phone again and it was working fine. I had it for about a week again but then another problem surfaced. I looked at the phone randomly and the screen was flicking between differents screens. It was as if i was pressing loads of buttons but i wasnt pressing any! It was just flicking between screens really fast. I turned it off and back on, then battery out but kept doing the same when i turned it back on.
I left it for a month again and last night I tried turning it on and its working fine again. I know its gonna start up again though so I wondered if there's something I can do while it's working to stop it from breaking again. Is there a virus in the phone or something or is it just a bad batch?
My N8 is no longer showing the image under the text in received mms messages. Now I have to chose objects in an mms to see the image.Has anybody else experienced the same thing after updating to Symbian Anna?

I recently tried doing an update to my phone - what a mistake. Finally I got it working but now the time zone list only shows 1 timezone, and it is not mine. How do I restore that list again, another software update>
View 3 Replies View RelatedLate last night my wife and I, who both have iPhone 5s, discover that our time and date were both way off. We toggled the auto update on and off a few times and eventually it reset. This morning it is incorrect again. We both turned the auto update off and set the calendar and time manually and it eventually went back to the incorrect time and date. This morning, June 28 at 0940 the date was July 9 at 0435.Â
View 1 Replies View RelatedI've got a Nokia E6-00. Sending messages and calling works fine. Receiving messages is a problem. When I ask someone to send me a text message, it doesn't come in either until I reboot my phone or until I open "sim messages". I've removed F-secure, rebooted several times and tried other sim cards from other providers. The problem is always present, regardless of simcard, provider or message length. I have enough memory left on the phone and the sim card.
View 7 Replies View RelatedLumia 920 is one week old, great phone. But don't see how to save a video received in a text message to the phone and eventually to skydrive. User manual downloaded from Nokia (107 pages!) says an attachment to a text message can be saved by touching "..." and then 'save to phone' but "..." and no other options appear when tapping the video or the enclosing text message. That user interface does work for photo images received in a text message but not for videos.

View 1 Replies View RelatedSo today, my phone alarm wakes me up at the right time, but when I unlocked it to look at the time, it's behind by 1.5 hours. When I restart my phone, initially it displays the correct time again, but after a second it changes back- here's the kicker - it still thinks I'm in the right location (St. John's, Newfoundland, Canada)
Last night after midnight I had a text conversation with a phone number I didn't know. They messaged me out of the blue saying that they knew me, but all the responses were generic so I think it was some sort of a scam... even though they didn't ask for anything. The area code for the number came from Quebec, which is... 1.5 hours behind us here. Coincidence? Have I been hacked or something?
I have noticed that my calendar events aren't displaying correctly on my iPhone 4S. I'm not entirely sure how long it has been like this. I checked iCal on my Mac and the dates are correct there. I checked iCloud and it's correct there. I've checked my iPad and iPhone are both off by a day. Could this go all the way back to Daylight Savings time change?

I'm regularly seeing the incorrect time displayed when I wake the device to check the time. I completely understand not rendering an updated clock when the screen is disabled, but this needs to occur instantly when the display is awakened. Currently the lag can be around 10/15 seconds (I've not measured precisely, but I can wake the screen by shaking at least 3 times and let it blank again before an update).
View 2 Replies View RelatedThe 5800 and 5530 don't dispaly the name of the sender when a text message is received, right, Well so I thought. and I wasn't too happy about it as all my previous phones had this facility. Then a few days ago I got a message on my 5530 and when I looked at the screen there waa white star overlaying the image of the sender on my contacts bar. Great, I thought, I'd never noticed that before! But how could this be? I haven't had a firmware upgrade or anything. Since then I've found that I occasionally get the star on messages from this one contact, but not on messages from any of my other contacts. What's going on? I've searched the web and can find no references to this at all.Have any other users noticed this feature? And can anyone explain why it doen't work for all contacts?

On the hardware keyboard it is done by pressing > key (itself not very convenient), but I haven't found any way of doing it on the software keyboard.
