I updated my N900 yestarday with the last firmware, now it can not start, when i swich on it i just see a nokia logo without light and it is shortly vibrating, i cant not connect it with usb,my pc dont see it but the orange light is on.
When I select my Calendar I only see the month view and the N900 is still running to open this application. I can not use the calander. I think the calenderfile is corrupt. How can I make my calenderfunction on the N900?After start the calender, all the Widgets will not work either.
I got my device 2 weeks ago. No problems so far until today. I checked the phone and it was not responding in any way. Not even when i pressed the on-off button. Okay then i removed the battery and started it again. Nokia logo game up and then these little spots, but then nothing. On the screen is only 5 spots jammed. It wont respond in any way no matter what button i try.
Sometime My N900 Freezes up. Like if I have to make a phone call or open the application it takes around 2-2.5 mins to start up telephone. Sometime its so embarrassing when someone ask the phone for a call or I'm saving some ones contact. And seriously then N900 to me seems like a brick & feels like to throw it away (I have done this with few Nokias)
I have even tried rebooting but doesn't help. Happens now and then & stays for few days. (specially if I'm not connected to internet). Please don't take me otherwise I love Nokia and N900.

I'm base in Sydney Australia and have just received a msg from Nokia that I can update my firmware for my N900.(firmware version 10.2010.19.)The problem is that I receive a message that I could not update because of: poor-quality ,slow or intermittent internet connection. This could also be because of problems with our servers. Is it that NSU does not support N900 and if so why would Nokia sell a phone and not provide software to update the phone with.
I would like to have the ability to update the N900 using the computer instead of the N900 "downloading" and installing over the air. It is a big download and takes quite some time. My computer is Windows 7.I have installed PC Suite and have sync functionality but little else from that program. I can't update or backup the N900 using PC Suite.I have installed Ovi Suite and tried using USB and Bluetooth but it says "Ovi Suite" is not compatible with my phone. I can do nothing with Ovi Suite. I might as well uninstall it.How do I update the phone using my computer?
i got an email to my hotmail account on my phone via nokia messaging(NM). it tells me that i have to update in order to use hotmail. it tells me to go to email.nokia.com and update via the download button. But i can't find it.How do i update NM?
my n900 restarts everytime it goes to sleep wether it times out or i use the slide lock thing, i have flashed the firmware with the newest and the oldest ones using the NSU and the flasher util, I have also flashed the emmc. The code when using terminal with cat /proc/bootreason is 32wd_to everytime. The only time it doesnt reboot is when I have media player open playing a song in which case it work as it is suppoed to. I can use the device for hours without a reboot aslong as I dont let it go to sleep.
I've read through many posts on this forum of users reporting that their phone keeps rebooting after an update and although mine keeps rebooting, it's not because of an update.I've been happily using my N900 since 11 Jan 2010 and have been applying updates as they've come. The last time I manually checked for an update was on 24 March 2010. On my way in to work this morning (31 March 2010, with a full battery) my phone started its rebooting fits. To be clear, when I say it reboots I mean the dashboard comes up (wallpaper + widgets and all), as if the phone loads fully, and I can slide to the other 3 dashboards for about 10 seconds, but then it all just suddenly reboots. On my Fedora 12 i686 PC I downloaded and flashed the RX-51_2009SE_3.2010.02-8_PR_COMBINED_MR0_ARM.bin firmware which went successfully by following the guide at https://wiki.maemo.org/ Updating_the_tablet _firmware. The phone booted up and the screen came up asking for my region and country and all that jazz, I was able to input those details in OK and the home screen came up with the default wallpaper and widgets and stuff.. and then it starts it reboot fits again. I live in Melbourne, Australia and purchased the phone from Amazon.com and sent it via the forwarding service myus.com. I use the phone on the Optus network. Is there anything else I can try on the phone to bring it out of its rebooting fits? Or should I return it to Amazon.com... and if so, how can I do that being that I'm in Australia and "cheated the rules" bringing it out of the USA?
Installed "enhanced kernel (titan) for power users" from my install list in application manager, as part of trying to get the Mobile Hotspot app to work. I was advised to do so by some very knowledgeable N900 users on this forum. Well...long story short(er)...loading the kernel did not make mobile hotspot work, so I decided to uninstall and revert back to the factory kernel. I did so using the "uninstall" app that came with the titan kernel....the screen went blank about half way through the process,...gave me a message that "kernel couldn't be removed". Thereafter, upon rebooting the phone, the N900 just sits there and reboots, reboots, reboots now...never completing a reboot before rebooting again. Sever has informed me that someone might be able to tell me how to reboot into update mode instead of Maemo for flashing....perhaps being able to just flash the kernel instead of the whole OS,...which I'll do if necessary.
I just updated on ovi vers 2.2.0.245 now i've lost all phone functions. Tells me to reboot but that doesn't help.. help dont know what to do... dont seem to have a back up.
My N900 is telling me to update through the PC and not over the air. But when I go to the Nokia USA website the device is not updateable. Is anyone else having this problem?
In a call with Michael Halbherr, Nokia's VP of Social Location, we were told that the new Ovi Maps would arrive on the flagship N97 very shortly. It's currently a "software logistics issue" related to the maturity of the N97 device. N900 owners shouldn't hold their breath, though, as Nokia is focusing on bringing its free navigation service to the next generation of Maemo devices. That's not to say that the N900 won't get it eventually, only that it's not currently on the roadmap.
So will there be no OVI-Maps-Update be available for maemo5 ?
I made updated to the latest N900 firmware but the installation stalled on the last 1 sec. Now phone won't boot. I already got a dektop charger and charged the phone and reflash with the 51.1 (pr1.1) update but nothing happens.Tried reflashing couple of times but I always got the same result on the cmd.My OS is Vista 32 bit. I'm trying to update with the US version. Is this going straight to the nokia repair center?I don't know what's going on. battery was fully charged.
I tried restoring the software on my phone and it just says that the software is already updated. I don't want to update, because the update on my phone does not work. I have no virtual keyboard. Well I do but its not the full and correct one. Also there are quite a few applications that will no longer run since the last up date. I need to re-install and there is no option to.
I have just updated the new software on my n97, it downloaded and updated fine then it kept coming up with memory full on C drive, delet some memory. After about an hour trying to reach the settings menu to delete some data off that drive, i thought turning the phone on and off might help but i was wrong it now comes up with phone start up failed. contact the retailer. Can i fix this myself or should i just take my phone back to the shop and does my guarantee cover this seems it was a nokia update?
My N900 can connect to the internet (I can search in goodle or download and install packages with no issues) but it cannot connect to Skype account. Error message: Authentication failed. It was connecting to Skype just fine before the update. I tried to re-enter the password, of course. I do not want to delete the Skype account and create a new one just yet: I have all my contacts set up already and I am afraid I will loose those merges between Skype and the phone's address book if I delete the existing Skype account. Maybe anyone has any suggestions on what can I try first?
As I was updating my N900 to the newest firmware, my computer crashed (not because of the install, I was running other hardware intencive programs.) and I'm 100% sure it wasn't finished installing the firmware when it had crashed.
But when my computer crashed the phone seemed to running normally and when it was finished installing it worked fine. Is it possible that it didn't finish?Either way just to be on the safe side, how do I reinstall the update to be 100%?
I do really have serious problem. I have nokia N900 which is U.S.A. I was trying to update through flasher, then the phone doesn't complete booting I mean just stuck on booting. I did try another version, and also doesn't work. The phone only accept one or tow version which is a Global RX-51_2009SE_2.2009.51-1_PR_COMBINED_MR0_ARM and Middle East version RX-51_2009SE_1.2009.42-11.003_PR_COMBINED_003_ARM. Just accepting the old version. When I update to latest version, it just stuck for more than 4 hours on the 5 dots or booting.
I did read almost or all the posts talking about this problem and no one worked with me. I did flash it with EMMC first then OS but also nothing happened. And when I flash with the old global, the phone boot up and work fine but when I check the IMEI there is nothing show up. And there is red line on the top on the sim card. I tried many SIM card. But nothing work. I hope I can find solution.
my mobile gives me from time to time a message that a new software update (12mb) is available but when I touch 'update' (arrow to the right), nothing happens. Is the update necessary and how can I perform it?
Today I got an update for my E6. I installed it without any problems. But when I tried to start maps it doesn't start. On the screen there was only a message: maps - function not supported. Is it a bug or a feature? Are Nokia updates tested? I mean by the company - not by users (customers)
I updated the Firmware of my N97 mini (to v30.0.004) after the download and update, the phone could not start-up again. Phone says "Start-up failed. Contact the Retailer." I updated it by dialing *#0000# then clicked on OPTIONS, CHECK FOR UPDATE?
So the update is available for the UK phones and I updated my 5530 to the v.20 firmware. Unlike what most users say that the phone is faster, I dont really find that to be the case. When I startup, it takes awhile longer. Sometimes the wallpaper appears and then disappears and then reappears again with the contacts bar and everything. The problem really seems to be the home screen. Every time I go back to the home screen or click on menu, theres a black line in the center, a flash n nothing happens or a flash n it works. Sometimes, the flash is not there and the menu just opens up. I dont really know how to explain that, but I hope uve got an idea of what i'm saying. I'm wondering if I should soft reset.
Can`t start camera after factor reset and update, have all applications and notes and contacts itc, but can`t start camera application, did factory reset to improve performance since phone became very lagy!
I am updating my N900 using Nokia Software Updater. It stops at a certain point (at 6.3MB) and then shows error message of slow connectivity.
Inspite of good connectivity, When I try again it resumes from 6.3MB and immediately throws the error. I tried reinstalling NSU but didn't help.Is there any way to clear cache of NSU?
i realy your help in this one, now i live in Lebanon, and i'm searching for a n900, but the other day my freind told that you can't check for your balance in your phone operartor, is that true, were i live, you need to recharge your phone in before you make phone calls, send messages etc, and to see how much dollars(or what ever its called) you still have in what you have recharged, you need to press *11# and than the green button, and than a message shows up showing you your phone operator balance, is it true that that can't be done on the n900? i like it how i can overclock the n900 from 600 mhz to 1000 mhz in less than 30 sec.
