I am updating my N900 using Nokia Software Updater. It stops at a certain point (at 6.3MB) and then shows error message of slow connectivity.
Inspite of good connectivity, When I try again it resumes from 6.3MB and immediately throws the error. I tried reinstalling NSU but didn't help.Is there any way to clear cache of NSU?
I'm base in Sydney Australia and have just received a msg from Nokia that I can update my firmware for my N900.(firmware version 10.2010.19.)The problem is that I receive a message that I could not update because of: poor-quality ,slow or intermittent internet connection. This could also be because of problems with our servers. Is it that NSU does not support N900 and if so why would Nokia sell a phone and not provide software to update the phone with.

i try to update it through mobile updater itself. But everytime its showing ' No update available'.
I purchased my E72 last week and installed the latest Nokia Maps with free navigation support.
I had an absolutely seamless GPS connection in the initial three to four days of usage, but now, it takes me an eternity for the GPS to connect to the satellite. I have to wait for a minimum of 5-10 minutes every time I want to use the GPS. I tried reinstalling the maps, but that did not help, either. Should I Hard Reset the phone? Is there any simpler method?
Every time I use it (either for yahoo messenger or ovi) it must can't to connect.notification showed that "Temporary service problem.Try again later(code503) but if i try again it must be same.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI got my N900 monday together with a new O2 sim card. It worked fine on monday and tuesday, but since yesterday, the connectivity to the O2 network is down. When I start up the phone, it asks for the PIN; so it seems that the sim card is recognized. But it does not connect to the network! The provider name does not appear next to the status bar, and there is no connectivity indicator on the status bar. Offline mode is disabled, of course.
Text messages cannot be send; when I try to call someone, I get an error (translated from german: "network not available" or similar). The strange thing is that sometimes I can reach the network for very short time. I then get missed test messages, but that's it. The connection lasts for not more than 2-3 minutes, I guess. I tried another sim card, and this one did not work, too. The sim card was placed properly into the slot. Is there anything I can do, or may this be a well-known firmware bug?
I'm having a problem with Skype on my N900 (PR1.2).
The vast majority of my Skype contacts are fine. I can Skype Instant Message them with no problem.
However, there are a couple where when I try and send an IM, I get the message:
messaging_fi_unable_to_deliver_message_contact_unauthorized
I have tried removing the contact (from both my and the remote contact's Skype), and I've readded from my N900 and asked for authorization, and its been accepted, but I still get the error message when I try and IM.
When the remote contact IMs me the message never turns up, but they don't get an error message.
I've also tried it the other way around, where we delete the contacts on each other's Skype, and then the remote contact has asked for authorization, and I've accepted on the N900 - but still the same message.
The remote user us on Windows 7, using Skype 4.2.0.169. It has worked previously, but all of a sudden, it stopped for no obvious reason. This is happening with two of my contacts, who are in two different locations on different versions of Windows. Oddly, Skype voice calls work okay!
I can IM all my other Skype contacts no problem.
i have a problem when trying to charge my N900. It happens since day one and after upgrade to new one. It also happens after a reflash to older version and with no software installed. It happens when using the wall charger and using the USB cable connected to my laptop.
I plug my N900 and it starts charging, after a while it will stop. Sometimes it happens a few minutes after i plug it, sometimes it will happen after more time. When i unplug and replug it will start charging again and repeat the same process again: it will eventually say not charging. It happens when the phone is turned on and off. I have left my N900 plugged for hours and the light that indicates is charging just stops. Even when left 24 hours battery-eye applicaiton shows that the maximum it will get is around 40%
Do you think is a battery issue and is a matter of changing it or should i get a new device?
i got my n900 the day before i went on a 6 week holiday and initially everything seemed fine, i quite liked using it whilst away. Then after a couple of days i noticed it was rebooting unexpectedly. after a couple of weeks of these silly reboots it just stoped rebooting and it just gets stuck with the white dots. i've read lots of threads that say do this and that but none of the replies seem to be speciic to my issue. I've charged the battery for a couple of hours and tried the boot up with U key depressed but nothing seems to allow it to boot. i am a total linux noob and thought this device might be a useful as an introduction to the OS but i am very dispoainted so far. If i flash the device will i loose all the data that is currently stored on the device, all my recent holiday snaps and videos? i just want to get a working device and not loose all the good memories currently stored on it.

1) I am unable to work out how to bluetooth mp3 files to another mobile. Ok with videos and pictures as option is there but nothing for mp3's.
2) Can't pair the phone with car kit. I have the password which is the same as previous one but when pairing n900 I get an error message saying 'authentication failed'.
when open setting>general>software update, the phone check for an update but a message appear " Unable to check for update, an error occurred while checking for a software update " i'm currently using ios 5.0.1, what's the solution for that problem?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI've had the N900 for about 2 months, and just today, everything disappeared from "Conversations" even though I had several text message conversations saved there. Now, anytime I get an SMS text message, my phone shows that I have received a message, but they disappear, unless I send someone a message and they message me back, then that message will open as a new window in the desktop, but nothing at all shows up in "Conversations" anymore at all. Even when I have SMS text messages open as windows on the desktop, when I open "Conversations",it says there are no conversations. Does anyone know what might have happened here and how I can fix it? So frustrating to get a text message and then it just disappears!
View 9 Replies View RelatedOn some videos (not all, can't figure out the reason), the trimmer seems to work correctly on my phone. Then I connect it to my Windows PC and copy it over. At that point, the file size is the original size before trimming. The video actually stops (QuickTime) at the correct point, but there's a coda on the file which is just a still of the last frame. But it plays like video until the original end point. I have a video limit for uploading to another site, and I can't figure out how to edit around this problem.
View 4 Replies View RelatedNot sure why, my N900 seems to be pretty slow in opening up web pages. The home screen says that I am on 3.5G. At times the page wouldn't even get loaded (white screen or connection error).To test if it is due to bad coverage, I pull out the SIM card and put it back to my N97. And the web pages seem to load a lot faster (and smoother). This is strange. Is there some settings I need to fiddle with? I have tried changing the memory cache size from 5MB up but the improvement does not seem to be consistant. Now, I set the cache to auto.

I have some software problem with my Nokia E71 . SO i decided to update my mobile Software. so i downloaded NOKIA SOFTWARE UPDATER V2.5 en . After that when i start it shows error that :" Unable to retrieve device information " and shows 4 suggetion that remove battry and like that.. I had do all this things. but till it doesnt starts. i have also tries this softwre in windows XP SP3 and windows 7. But same probelm in both . When i connect myu phone with my pc then PC SUIT turn on and it shows that your mobile is connected but NOKIA SOFTWARE UPDATER can't . . So what i do now?

and in NSU v2.5.2 i got (no software available for your device - Please not that your mobile service provider, operator or carrier may not have approved the latest nokia device firmware available........)And on FOTA after downloading and restarting i got (This update is not compatible with your device)
those are my issues:
1) in some applications (such as photos,web...) suddenly quit app. with message internal error application "web or xxx" closed (i flashed my device with emms.
2)sometimes does not open conversation text --->> Internet link: video
3)when i shoot picture with my camera in gallery picture shows up many times(like 10-15 times)in thumbnail view,also in normal view,when i change picture to the next one its again same picture many times.
I decided to start a new thread in the hope more people would see this. I have the connectivity error when i try install pc suite ( i was having problems with it so i uninstalled it, had further problems and went through the registry and deleted anything with nokia in it), i tried all the steps here (pc suite cleaner crashes at 7 %) revo uninstaller found no trace of nokia anywhere on my system but yet i still get the connectivity cable driver error.Any help?
View 13 Replies View RelatedFor no real reason my phone has got sluggish with certain tasks, like the phone will freeze while an sms or email is coming through, sometimes when opening an sms i get a blank screen where the writing should be for a few seconds and general sluggishness.
On previous symbian devices this was largely solved by freeing up some phone memory, is it the same on the n900? df -h / in x term says 71% free. or is this normal for the phone, given i flashed it recently and that apparently made no difference
I installed Nokia Chat from Ovi store on my phone. When I start the chat, I am shown an option "Get the latest IM service"
When I click this option, I see "Checking for new IM updates" .It keeps checking for updates for a min or so then I get a message 'Error: Unable to complete request. Try Again"
I have a proper wifi and so its not a connectivity issue. Previously I have used Nokia chat and I had all services(gtalk,yahoo etc) but recently I had to format the phone, so had to install chat again.
Can anyone help me with this issue ? How can I get this chat to work ? if there a newer version available which I can install directly rather than looking for services.
when I go onto ovi maps I always get unable to connect please try again error message. This has been going on for 2 weeks now but it only effects the maps and store but I can get on every thing else.

View 8 Replies View RelatedI have been using Inernet Radio happily on my e63 for some time on the vodafone network in Australia and frequently listened over GPRS.I recently signed up to Telstra and the first time I started Internet Radio after inserting my new SIM I received a "terms and conditions" notice - as if this was the first time I was using it.
Now, only my WIFI access points and Telstra MMS are showing up in the available access points for internet radio - I can't see the Telstra Internet access point so I'm no longer able to to listen to Internet Radio over GPRS!!
I'm currently trying to instal Nokia Maps 3 onto my N95, and every time it reaches the install point the phone throws out the error "Certificate Error: Please Contact the software provider"..I was wondering if anyone can give me a hand with this, I have seen a few posts about this error on the boards yet no one has given a solution, I have checked my application settings and can't see any reason why it is failing to install over my current version which is v1.2 wk37 b05..I want to eventually buy more maps but I refused too until I have the latest version installed..

I installed a program from app manager , I dont remember the name of te application...everthing was installed correctly...then later I uninstalled and restarted the device.....but now the device only shows me a lot of small letters and restarts again. when I try to flash the phone in a xp 32 bit computer the system shows me that the driver is corrupted....and dont let me do the flash proccess wiht the maemo flasher 3.5.
