I can't send group text on my lumia 800. I tried turning off the group text in settings, then I also tried turning it on but still I could not send group text, the message is "can't send try again".

I got my Lumia 920 and sent a few texts but found that if you type past 2 messages in one session and try to send, it comes back as saying it can't send. I tried resending but it won't go.
To send, I had to copy the message, delete the message, paste it in the field then resend. That works.
An update for the SMS+Messaging app came a few days ago but hasn't fixed the problem cause I tried sending a 3 message text and it did the same thing. Had to again copy the message, delete then send quickly.
I have just got the lumia 710. I am unable to send MMS or use mobile data. I am on the Vodafone network. I have rang them several times regarding this problem and they have checked that all is ok at there end and say that the APN settings need doing. I have done this and still nothing.
View 6 Replies View RelatedMy E72-1 just developed this annoying and hard-to-fix problem: It can't send SMS messages anymore. I hadn't noticed it at first, was wondering why the persons I sent messages didn't replied when I responded to their messages. Then happened to check my phones Outbox, and 6 text messages are stuck in there for several hours already. Just to test the phone further (to check if it might be a SIM card problem), I put this SIM card on another phone, and I was able to send messages on that phone. I also placed another SIM card on the E72 and tested sending a message -- the message sending gets stuck at the Outbox and never sends. Receiving SMS messages appears to work fine. Also, calling out (voice calls) and receiving calls work. other notes: in settings: "Phone Memory" (instead of memory card) is used for text messages, configured to have up to 999 messages. Currently, have around 600 SMS messages in the Inbox and maybe 150 text messages in the Sent folder. Let's says that's only around 800 messages (not yet 999 messages).
What I tried: I changed the setting from "phone memory" to "memory card", but still unable to send messages. (I reverted it back to phone memory since that's where my messages are residing.) I did a soft reset *#7780# which reset the E72's settings. Tried again to send SMS message -- it still fails. I decided to do a hard reset, so I did a full backup using Ovi Suite first. Then I did the hard reset *#7370# -- and it did solve the problem (able to send messages again), unfortunately, I would need to reinstall all the applications, contacts and restore the messages I saved. I tried restoring the backup (it was pretty big at 2.3Gb), but it's taking a very very long time (nearly an hour) and it seems to fail near the end of the restoration. The backing up of the phone took awhile (maybe 20 minutes or so) since it backedup probably the whole memory card too. (I should probably have deleted a few unneeded big files from the memory card before I did the backup since it appears that Ovi Suite is also backing up those big files).Right now, I'm doing the restoration a second time (a few hours since I first tried that and it sort of failed). During the restoration which ended with failure, it seems that when I tried sending SMS messages, it fails again. (ie. if I restore the backup, the problem is also restored) -- I'll check this again later if this is indeed the case. I still had around 130Mb free space left in the C: phone memory and the 4Gb microSDHD memory card had around 900Mb free space when I started the backing up in the first place. (mentioning these in case these might be related to the problem.)any idea what's causing the unable to send SMS message problem? another thing: does restoring backups really take an extremely long time? (I haven't tried the restoration function before, though I did a backup maybe 2 months ago) Does the phone get in a sort of "stuck" or "hanging" mode during the latter part of the restoration procedure?
I cant send text messages - although I can receive them - can someone please help me in setting this up in my phone.it has to be in the settings somewhere.

I would love to use a Lumia and to be able to send sms through Nokia Suite by connecting bthrough usb cable and also by bluetooth.I connect my Nokia Belle phones almost every day by bluetooth and send sms.The freedom to do that is long implemented i my daily life and the reason is plain simple;while surfing on the pc, checking business stuff, writing messages or whatever and not have to pick up the phone is such easy task, not to mention how easy it is too use the keyboard of the pc and the speed and accuracy of writing...people who like me have done this for years,surely will miss this feature or whatever you want to call it.

I just bought a 6700 but I can't send text messages. When I send something, it sends as normal but the receiver does not receive. I can receive texts as normal though.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI currently have a NE63 - 3 phone and is currently loving it however two days ago i started getting a sending failed error message everytime I attempt to send text messages and when I click on the details it would say not enough memory please close other applications.I have enough load credits to perform such activity,and i do not have any other applications running in the background,plus the phone memory is nowhere near full capacity.I have already checked the message center number and I currently have the correct settings,I have already peformed a reset but to no avail.I am able to receive text messages,able to make and receive calls,wi - fi access is okay,the only thing I cant do is send text messages.I know there are other e63 users out there who might have experienced the same thing.

Since the new JB update I have lost the ability to group email and group text. I used to be able to go to the "To:" field, type in the group name and click it. Now that is all gone. Is there a way to get it back or is this another JB issue?

When I receive a multimedia group text, the texts only show the originators number and not the other Group numbers.
This phone is a SAMSUNG GALAXY 6, using Android 5.0.2
Other suggested truning on Group Conversation or Group Messaging in the settings , but that option does not appear.
The instructions I received are below , but like I said, it did not show up on the settings.Is there a difference in the Android versions that would cause the menu to be different or the setting to located somewhere else?

I am not able to send Group messages from Nokia C7.I am sending messages to a distribution list having 70 members in it, only 20 messages are going fine and the remaining 50 stuck in the inbox saying Failed or Resend at XX:XX.Then i usually try to click on each message in the out box and send them again. [i dont know why there is no mark all option in outbox ] But from 3 days eventhough i am trying to send the 50messages again it is just saying Resend at XX:XX.
1) I tried sending the messaged from OVI suite but no luck
2) With help of vodafone customer care i verified all my message settings, message center number and everything are fine. (if they are wrong the first 20 should also stuck na..)
3) I thought it was a n/w problem i called to vodafone Customer care and they asked me try in another phone.
4) I have taken my old nokia 5310 Xpress music inserted the same sim and sent the 70 messages, they all went very fine.
When I type a text I am unable to send the text.

When I press details it says "General: memory full. Close some applications and try again".... I have no applications
open and have pressed and held the menu button to check and defiantly don't. I have turned it off And on, re installed message settings, deleted stuff, even reinstalled factory settings and its still not working id much appreciate some help. It did the same thing on Tuesday but was fine when I woke up Wednesday morning. It did it again 10pm Wednesday night and is still the same and its Friday xx I have posted this message on facebook and got told to ask here. I don't know if there is already a topic on this, but I really want to sort this problem out. I have always had Ionians and they have usually been very reliable...
