For some reason all the birthdays in the phone contacts shows day later than it is on my windows live contacts? So in Windows live a contacts birthday is correct, but in the phone it shows incorrectly day later. How is this possible as my phone gets the contact cards from the Windows live and they should be the same? I have checked the time zones and all match.
View 4 RepliesI use Sony PC Companion 2.1 to sync my Outlook calendar from my PC to Google and from there to the Sony Ray. Synchronisation as such runs fine, but the thing is that when I delete a calendar entry on, say, Outlook and synchronise, the entry just reappears - this time as an item from Google. If I delete the entry on Google and then synchronise, it reappears on Google. So the only way to delete an item is to delete it BOTH on Google and Outlook at the same time. Not exactly what I am looking for. How do I make sure that deletions on either side is reflected on the other?My settings are:
* "Always delete from other devices"
* "ASK which item to use"
How do you add a birthday or anniversary to the calender? the only option I can find is an appointment.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI upgraded to an N8 recently and manually inserted all my contacts including birthdays. Afterwards, I noticed that there has been some discussion (since 2010) around the issue that notifications in respect of birthdays is not possible from the contact list on this handset (that is without paying and installing a third party app to solve the problem.) My question is then: Why does the contact list even allow for input regarding birthdays? Really what is the purpose of this? Does anybody use this in some way? I do not use the phone's calender and it will be a tiresome exersise to update the odd 232 birthdays manually from my contact list to the calander, to get notifications.

View 11 Replies View RelatedI have updated the latest firmware (1600.2487.8107.12070) just a week back. Even now the battery backup is not good enough as boasted by your team. The battery does not even last for 8 hrs. This is the first time am facing such a poor battery backup for a Nokia Device. Though the call end issue is resolved in this update, the proximity sensor issue still remains. The screen blanks out when the proximity sensor is activated while calling and has to be activated again to bring back the normal screen.
Steps to reproduce this issue:
1. Make a call
2. Take the handset near your ear (The proximity sensor is activated now)
3. Move it from your ear (The proximity sensor is deactivated now, but the screen is still blank)
4. Again take it near your ear and release it again (The screen is visible now)
I have had my Lumia 900 for almost 3 days, and I am extremely impressed with the build quality and design. Definitely an upgrade from my Focus. However, there are a few things that are still buggy.
1. The camera doesn't correctly choose the right scene, so the veiwfinder is very blue when using the camera, but it looks perfect once the picture has been taken.
2. Pressing the hardware camera button while the phone is locked doesn't always launch the camera like it should. Especially trying to do so immediately after the phone is locked.
3. The battery dies extremely fast once the battery saver mode turns on.
4. The critical battery notification occurs at roughly 15% when as my Focus did it at around 5%, which was much more helpful.
5. When the battery died on my Lumia, it didn't leave enough battery to shut the device down, it got to 0% and then the phone froze for about a minute then when black, no goodbye screen. Then, when I tried to charge it, it was plugged up for about 5 minutes before the battery meter appeared saying the battery was too low to start the phone. During that five minutes, the hardware buttons were glowing, and holding the power button had no effect.

I am using c6-01 phone, few days ago I got some problem with my new software, I need to reload it, after reinstallation I have lost my all contact no. Before reinstallation I always used sync contact through ovi store but never tried to take backup, but know I am not able to found my lost contact anywhere. I thought after sync, contact will be safe and I can get back them after sync again, but I failed. Any other way to get back my lost contact.

How can I show these birthdates, anniversary. XYZ's birthday on December 12. By browsing calendar application it is no different to anyone's else. However , it is not cleared from wallpaper. It reads "Today is XYZ's birthday .
All Day " By wallpaper I mean the very initial picture which we slide up to see tiles.
Just got my 950 two days ago and unfortunately running into an issue with setting up a couple of email accounts.
I have six email addresses I track on the phone. Five of them are all on the same server but are different inboxes while the sixth is the Hotmail account from Microsoft.
Unfortunately two of the accounts on my personal server are not setting up. The phone tells me that it is synced by nothing is showing. I even submitted a test email from the phone that did show up on my desktop Outlook but does not show up on my phone.
I did a hard reset of the phone and still the exact same issue. I'm stumped as the other emails work just fine but for some reason these two inboxes are causing problems. They worked on my 920 and they work on Outlook desktop version. So what is the trick to get this working?
Notice webpages going off screen and nothing can be done. I have a screenshot to show what I mean however the WPC app do not have the options to attache images neither the mobile site of it. Frustrated that other platforms can format website correctly but not on WP platform. Anyway to ensure website load correctly?

I synced up my Facebook contacts only to find that I cannot call any of them. Three digits are added before the number when you make a call ("001" the international dialing code for the U.S.) and because of this, the call does not go through. A similar problem occurs when you try to text message these contacts as well.

However, on syncing the phone I was advised that I would have to set this up 'as a new phone' and sync later. My contacts and apps have gone onto the phone, but music, photos, settings and most importamtly text messages have not.

We have an apple family consisting of an iPhone 4, iPad2, and an iphone 3G which we just upgraded to an iPhone 4 today. When we were setting up the new iPhone 4 to connect to iCloud and our apple ID we accidentally merged all the contacts via iCloud from both iPhones into 1 large contact list (the same list on both phones). We keep separate contact lists for our phones, but use iCloud to sync everything else together. I already figured out how to turn off the syncing of the contacts, but is there any way to revert/delete or however you want to word it, the contacts list back to each phone having only their original contacts? When I turned off the contact syncing in the iCloud settings it did ask if I wanted to keep the contacts from icloud or delete them so out of fear of it deleting ALL my contacts I tapped Yes to keep them (probably the wrong choice there). On my wife's new phone it is no big deal, I just manually deleted the 20 or so contacts that were added from my phone, but she has 100+ contacts that are now on my phone that I would rather not delete one by one manually. I also figure I could just do a restore from a backup on my phone through iTunes, but its been a while since I did one and I would end up loosing recent data and contacts so that isn't an option.
