I am on my third Nokia Lumia 900 now and all three have had an issue with the wallpaper "flickering" into vertical streaks right after I press the power on button. Has anyone else noticed this problem?The flickering doesn't stop the phone from working in any way, but it does make me wonder about the build quality.

What is the proper action to take here? Do i wait for a fix and then download it or do i have to return the phone because it is a hardware issue? I also have a friend who got his phone a few days ago and it has the same problem but not quite as severe.
if i had to guess i would say this have to do with the dimmer componen for the background lightning of the lcd panel, but i have no way to verify this.Other than this i totaly love the phone so i hope this could be fixed with an update, dont want to spend any time w/o it
I have a problem with my lumia 710: when I scroll web pages or maps, I note brightness flickering on his display. The problem seems to be only when the luminosity of the screen is set on auto, medium or low.
View 19 Replies View RelatedI have a flickering display problem on my Nokia Lumia 1520 which makes the phone totally unuseable because when the flickering starts, all the buttons on the screen become frozen and half the time this happens I'm forced to power off the phone after which it works as it should for a while, then the flickering starts again. Is this a hardware or software issue?Please check this video of the flickering.

It's a bug I guess, but I'm wondering if maybe it's because I have the brightness profile too low?
Recently the back, and start buttons on my 1520 have not been turning on, or flickering. The search button has not shown any signs of the issue. The buttons still work, and have no functionality issues.
It started randomly, and I notice if I press on certain parts of the phone, the lights may go on or off. They may also go on or off of their own accord.
I had dropped my phone a few days prior, but there was no visible damage, and the issue was delayed.
I'm assuming this is a hardware issue and I would need to replace it in order to fix it, but are there other possibilities?
I've noticed since the GDR3 update that i'm no longer able to update my lockscreen wallpaper photo. If I select Twitter, Facebook or Bing as the lock screen it changes over fine, but in Photo it always defaults that the Yellow Car photo no matter what photo I choose.

I have strange background picture that i can't get rid of. should do have a permanent wallpaper on my screen except the one that came with the phone, everytime i set a wallpaper of my choice and after some applications and downloads it reverts back to the wallpaper that came with the handset, i have already tried so many times without real success

I got a problem with my nokia 5800 screen, sometimes when my brightness is bellow 80% 2-3 flickering lines appear wherever I am ( home screen, watching a video, browser, call someone etc.). When brightness is at 80% its normal always (maybe of the high brightness I may not see the lines) However this is annoying and I want to know if I can do anything about it ! On top of that my phones shuts down suddenly on its own randomly! The phone is functioning well running app without any problem and watching videos !

So, for the first time since I got it, I tried setting some new wallpapers, see if maybe there's something that'd look nice. But then presented itself a problem: when I set a wallpaper, the upper and lower edges of the screen remained a blurry sort of thing, the same colour as the default background of the theme (in my case, it was the Golden Business). My question is whether this can be disabled? I searched, and I couldn't find.Also, writin' this on my Nokia E72 right now (yeah, advertising Nokia's product on their own site).

I am needing some help with re-installing Prismic Wallpaper Manager that I had bought and installed whilst I was running on Global f/w. Now I am back on UK 51, it doesn't run the install when I double click on the DEB file. Got the following advice back from their support desk:
Do you have the latest firmware? If so you can simply open the .deb in the File Manager program and it will install. If you don't, you can use XTerm (you may need to 'sudo gainroot')and run:
dpkg -i prismicwm_1.4.4_armel.deb
In which ever directory you've put the file, this should install it. If it complains about dependencies, do: apt-get install packagename. Where packagename is whatever it's complaining about (eg. gnome-python). So please can you re-interpret it into step-by-step?
one of the first things I did when I was setting up my new Nokia X6 was to delete all the factory images. One of which I think was being used as the Homescreen Wallpaper. I was playing last night and tried a Photo as Wallpaper but the fit is Stretched to whole screen and I can't see how to change it. I was wondering if anyone knew how to get the Default back on or even where I could download the default from on the web.
View 2 Replies View Relatedi just bought a nokia 2720 fold. I have been downloading a few themes off the internet but everytime i apply them they don't seem to cover the full screen. By that i mean there is still a white band where the battery icon is. Even hen I set a wallpaper the white band is still there.
But when i use a profile that already exists in the phone it comes out in full screen and so does the wallpaper.
Didn't see any posts about this but is it possible to rotate applied wallpaper? I try to edit the photo and rotate it from there but it doesn't do anything.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI decided to replace the default wallpaper with something more appealing and so took a picture with the phone's camera and set it as the wallpaper. Later on, when I came to use the phone again I found it had reverted to the default wallpaper. The phone had not been switched off meantime. I reset the wallpaper again and, again, later on, I found it had reverted again. I store my camera images on the memory card (Sandisk 8GB) and have had no problems with any other data stored on the card. However, just in case the phone was having sporadic problems not being able instantly to read the card and so thinking it wasn't there, I copied the image to the phone's memory. I'm now waiting to see if it happens again. I can't upgrade the software to the latest release (R12) as I am on Tesco Mobile and their latest customised version of S60 is still based on R11.
