I just my lumia 820 from att on saturday and i love it but there seems to be a problem with some of the settings. It seems like that audio, display+touch, and Nokia account don't seem to open and just send you back to the default settings menu.
View 1 RepliesWhenever I open another app while Nokia Drive is runninng in the background, it stops giving me directions as it looses the GPS signal. For example, I am following the driving directions, but change to a music app to select a new playlist - as soon as I open the music app and Nokia Drive runs in the background, it basically stops working.

have previously ripped a bunch of my DVD's with handbrake to use on my old iphone, which worked fine, but on my new lumia 800 they are squashed.Cant work out the right settings to rip them again to use with my Lumia, can anyone advise?

There appears to be no way to Edit or Delete APN's already on the phone?? No little '..' to press on at the bottom right. View 1 Replies View RelatedI was browsing the options under the settings and tried selecting 'feedback to nokia'. A prompt came up (can't remember the exact wording) saying there was a problem with two buttons. One button was to uninstall and the other was to take you to the store entry for this item. The text of the prompt suggested going to the store and trying to install again. If that failed it indicated to select uninstall and then reinstall the 'app' (really a setting option). If I picked the store button the only option I had was to share this app. So I went back to settings and selected the uninstall button. But now I can't find the 'feedback to nokia' when searching the store. So I was wondering how I can reinstall this item under settings.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI need to set my outgoing work email (SMTP) server port number to 587 and connection security to TLS. However, I can't see an option to set either the port number nor the security to TLS. SSL security can be turned on/off, but no mention of TLS.
I have read elsewhere that setting the server name as <server name> : <port number> can be used (that is, using a colon to separate the server name from the port number), but still this does not allow for selecting TLS security.
My incoming email, IMAP, works fine, so my connection/username/password etc. should all be fine.
I am trying to download 'Phonetic Keyboard' in my lumia 950 XL , but after 'preparing download' it goes to 'attention required' and throws an error - text suggestions for this keyboard not getting downloaded properly ... I tried,
1. Soft reset...
2. Uninstall windows insider , again re-subscribe fast ring everything but in vain...

View 1 Replies View RelatedI've managed to get Outlook 2010 set up as an exchange server - couldn't carry on trying to use it with hotmail connector - it just didn't work.So, now on my Lumia 610 I have an Outlook account and I sign into it with my gmail email address and password. But it says it can't find the server settings. So, I'm having a stab at entering them manually. This is what I'm using:So my question is, are these the correct settings to use???? If not, what should they be?I can sense it, I'm close to actually getting my calendar to sync, but I just need to get past this one (hopefully the last!) hurdle.
View 9 Replies View RelatedUpdated my 1520 to the latest TP. Full format post update, etc. Got everything up and running. Cortana. My goodness. It opened every few seconds. I got to the point that I hated using the phone at all because Cortana would just launch, interrupting anything I was doing. Almost went back to 8.1 until I remembered to check the screen sensitivity settings. Yep. Win10 sets it to high for some reason. Changed to normal and it's worked tremendously.
Go to settings and Extras. You will find an old 8.1 menu there. Change in "touch."I was about to throw this phone across the room. Now if they would let us disable the search button all together or require a ~3 second press and hold to launch Cortana. Until then, for the love of god set sensitivity to normal to keep Cortana at bay.
I'm on WP8.1 and haven't had an update for a few weeks however the week before last all of a sudden my phone started to run really slowly. Evening opening the camera app can take 10-20 secs sometimes before it starts and its highly annoying.I've tried restarting, soft reset (which works for a little), emptying temp files and not sure what to do. I have about 3.5gb of memory left on the phone, close all apps properly and don't have a more than around 20 3rd party apps installed so the apps themselves shouldn't be the issue.

Also a gentle tap on the back of the phone near the camera hump, and I can hear the some mechanical sound.Does the camera rest on small ball bearings? Is this the sound of those bearings?
I travel to and fro my company by bus. The bus usually travels at 60kmph on an average. So due to road patches and connections, etc vibrations travel to the passenger.Does this constant travelling in the bus have any kind of damaging effect on the ball bearing system. Will the springs and vibration dampening capacity of the lens reduce over a period of time?
I have recently acquired a Microsoft Lumia 950XL, I have noticed when accessing links from Facebook, etc which open a page in Edge each link opens a new browser tab, so before you know it you could have a number of tabs open.
In Windows Phone 8.1 you could tell IE not to open new tabs, yet i cannot find the option for this in Edge.
In the "message settings' option menu, "e-mail settings" isn't available. I have managed to set up several email accounts by simply going into the 'email" option in the "messaging" menu, but I can't set the phone to check for emails automatically or to notify me of new emails, etc, etc, in other words, I have no menu option, for adjusting the settings for emails. I am running the latest version of the software
version 10.60.
for a few days the lumia camera isnt opening..all the other camera apps like proshot is working though..even the camera key isnt opening it after pressing..

I thought PC suite was bad, but at least it connected. Anyone had any luck in solving this one? I'm connecting a 6700 to a windows PC, all standard stuff.
I'm having some problems with certain widgets not opening. I click the icon in the menu and the widget starts to open but will soon shut down with no error message or anything.
I tried to remove the widgets that are malfunctioning but the icons will not disappear from the menu. I think this all started after installing Evernote Beta widget.
Is it possible to get rid of those icons and try to re-install some of the widgets manually or do I have to hard reset? I really wouldn't want to hard reset.
I got software in sis format while i trying install its opening in notepad ,but for my friends has no problem.
