May 12, 2010I just got my new phone E72 and the email push no longer work. My yahoo and Hotmail accournt are still connected but new emails are not upload.

Nokia :: N97 Mini - Messaging 10.2 - 26 - Push Mail Doesnt Work
Jul 11, 2010With new version of Nokia Messaging 10.2 (26) the automatically push mail in my Nokia N97 mini doesn't work anymore.
Now, for getting mails I need to select "each 15 minutes" in Options - Tools - Definitions - When Syncs. - Send and receive.
In last version I received mails automatically in my phone, as soon as they arrived to my mailbox, now it doesn't work.

Jun 29, 2010AFAIU Nokia Messaging may or may not be free depending on the operator, which can charge you for the service.
Pretty much like BlackBerry, albeit in that case all data go through their servers.
If all connections go through your provider's APN, how would Nokia know whether you're connected to Nokia Messaging or to some other server? All data exchange simply count towards your internet bundle, regardless if you use it for mail, internet browsing or whatever else you want to do, doesn't it?

Feb 14, 2010from 13th Feb 2010 2pm onwards am not getting any mails in my fone. am using Nokia e72 already configured my mails. personal and gmail, yahoo, hotmail, yesterday onwards am not getting any mails. am not getting any error message. email also connected with web. no synchronizing. just connected. unable to send and receive message. my data plan is working perfect another web application is working and able to browse in web. still it is not pushing the mail. all the mails not working. Nokia Messaging Service got any bug ? or they holded the service form some time? I'm from india bangalore. please somebody respond me and do the needful warm regards dev

Jan 19, 2010I've been reading a lot about Nokia Messaging and some sources say that it is a real push email service like BIS but some say that it needs to maintain an active connection all the times to ensure instantenous delivery of email. What's the truth? When I choose 'push' on my Nokia E72, it is connected to the internet all the time and only pretends to be real push, but I was wondering whether it's because my operator is not supported. Also, what difference does it make when your operator supports Nokia Messaging? As far as I know, my operator is not supported, but I easily set up Nokia Messaging with my Nokia E72. So, doesn't it mean that the only thing required for the Nokia Messaging to work is a data plan? Why does Nokia make announcements about starting to offer Nokia Messaging in countries where there already is internet in mobile phones?

Sep 21, 2012I am unable to use Nokia Messaging service push email service on my Nokia after Belle Refresh install. I did a clean install and when ever I try to add email accounts its automatically taking IMAP or POP3 setup and not prompting me to use Nokia Messaging Service to send/receive email.IMAP / POP3 is fast but uses lots of data compared to Nokia Messaging Service (which is free from my provider and will not count towards data usage). I started noticing this problem since yesterday afternoon.

Mar 16, 2015I may have stopped "google framwork services" last week, but I do not think this is related.Basically, my gmail app no longer gets push notifications or syncs automatically.I have android 5.0.1. nexus 5 and the latest gmail app versions. I have checked all settings in the app, and made sure that all my sync settings are enabled. I can see that the last sync of gmail was over 30 minutes ago, yet I've sent emails to my gmail account since then and they appear on the web version.The app won;t show new emails until I manually refresh within the app.
I googled a bit and saw that some people with a similar issue dod a "factory reset" to solve. that seems a bit extreme. Is there any other way around this. I've done all the usual things, cleared data in gmail app and forced stop and restarted phone.I even removed my google account and readded it. nothing worked.

Feb 23, 2010I have installed Nokia messaging on my nokia E72 and I have some problems setting my gmail account to work in push mode.
In particular, I would like that my gprs/umts internet connection doesn't stay always active.
When a new mail arrives to the server, server sends a notification to my E72, and E72 automatically connects to internet to download the new mail but after this, connections still remains active.
Is it possibile to turn off internet connection as soon as nokia messaging finishes to download new mail? I don't want connections remains always active as in blackberries smartphones, is it possibile or what I want is only a dream?

We moved the phone into a test area with no policies, then turned on and off each policy, testing connectivity results for each one.The only policy preventing the phone from connecting to the server was, "Password Required". Feb 8, 2010Just got a nokia e72, its the first phone of this type that I have tried so I don't know if the following are supposed to happen or not.
1: Nokia messaging won't work it says I have to check the inbox manually (this isn't a massive problem a press of the message key and I am in the inbox folder - so 2 presses rather than one is no big deal). The problem is that the inbox in question keeps disconnecting (yes I do have signal) so doesn't tell me when I have new email.
2: Following on from 1 when I send an email it always asks me what type of connection I want to use yet I have set it to default 'WAP contract' so it shouldn't ask should it.
3: Web sites open very slowly, now I am not expecting laptop speeds here but my nokia 6300 opened pages quicker.
4: Is it normal that when you remove the sim card and then put it back in you have to do the whole phone set up thing, its getting very annoying as I use the sim in a couple of phones and you don't have to do this in any of the others.
5: It keeps stopping me from downloading things and when it does this asks me to contact the service administrator - **bleep**?!?!?. I am only downloading nokia apps.
The main reason I ask these questions is that I had a nokia e72 about a month ago and none of the above seemed to happen on it but I only had it for 2 days as the casing was cracked and I sent it back. This new one I only got last week.

Nokia :: Messaging Will Not Work With Plusnet Accounts
Jan 14, 2010I signed up with one of my PLUSNET accounts, and that worked just fine.
Tried to add another, giving the login of ACCOUNT+ID as well as e-mail address and password.
Nokia messaging keeps telling me "Unable to connect with the information provided"
It works fine if I use another account not from PLUSNET
So, tried deleting the first account and re-adding it (since Nokia Messaging had accepted if first time).
Result - Nokia messaging won't add even the account that did work to begin with, and keeps replying "Unable to connect with the information provided"

May 10, 2010I have removed and re-installed messaging from my device as well as removing and adding my mailbox in the nokia email settings.I can still get PUSH email when i perform a MANUAL sync however it will not push automatically to me despite all of my settings confirmed as being set up correctly.I know i am not alone in this - my Blackberry never has this problem.

Tried various settings under "when to sync" with no luck e.g. days: sunday trough to suturday, sync all day, all hours, always sync etc. However the manual synchronization works just fine. So hope someone can help at least with how to attempt troubleshoot this issue. If not with solution, as having email that one needs to sync manually is totally pointless.
