My one week old e72 came with a scratch under the glass. I have been a bit worried that any pressure on the phone in the future might lead the screen to crack, so to be on the safe side I am having the handset replaced straight away by my mobile network. I am expecting a doorstep exchange in the morning, and they will collect the old phone all boxed up and provide a new sealed e72 in the box.So, I need to delete all my information from the handset and memory card. So far I have formatted the memory card and done a factory reset from the phone menu, then a factory reset as detailed in another thread I found on here (* +3 + call).
in order to perform a hard reset, the phone has to be turned off, and I can't do that because of the dead screen. My phone still has close to full battery though, so I'm waiting for it to drain off slowly... My question is, will the phone turn on automatically when I eventually charge it with a dead battery.
I dropped my Motorla Atrix MB860 in the water. The touch screen does not work anymore but I would like to erase all my personal data that I had stored on the phone. Is there a way to erase all the data that I had stored on this phone without using the touch screen?
My E66 will be sold to a friend soon. I would like to know if there is a switch or some sequence of buttons that will restore the phone to a out-of-box condition, which no personal or past data inside ?

I was going to sell my 3GS 3.1.2 and wanted to erase all data and settings. Now I'm apparently stuck on Apple logo loop and the phone is restarting all the time. This is the iPhone that was exchanged for my faulty one, and unfortunately I didn't do the SHSH backup to saurik's server on this one.Is there any way, that I will be able to use 3.1.2 on it and do JB/UL? Or at least UL?
Sadly, I am returning my iPhone 4. Do you guys know the best way to erase all your data but still keep your back-up?If you restore a phone does it overwrite your back-up?What about just putting the password in wrong 10 times? Is that a good way to remove sensitive data?
So i wanted to get rid of my jailbreak, my phone would crash all the time most of my apps, so i got it to erase all the data and settings, but its taking forever. Should it take so long? After i clicked it, it restarted, then the apple icon came up and a loading bar. About 2 of them pass, then the little loading spiral thingy came up and it goes round, then stops, then goes some more, stops. Then it restarts and does it again.
My iphone 4 is giving problem (insensitive button and poor connectivity, probably antennae problem). I intend to exchange it as it is still under extended warranty.
How can I back-up and erase the data on the phone before surrendering it? I am afraid I will loose data eg from yahoo mail/calendar/contacts, as well as from Evernote, Appbox Pro, Spending app. Currently, I back up the phone through itunes on my PC, and copy photos to my PC using the microsoft camera wizard.
With icloud switched on (on my iphone 4s), if I erase all content and settings will this erase whats stored on icloud. (my phone is faulty and getting replaced and I need to erase everything before it goes away.
So I have a 3gs running 4.0.1 jailbroken. I'm selling the phone tomorrow so I just did a phone reset and selected erase all data and contacts and such, and now when attempting to start up it freezes on the apple logo when the spinner thing is going around.Am I screwed and have to upgrade to 4.1 now? Tried to put into DFU mode and reinstall 4.0.1 but obviously apple doesn't allow that.
My sister trying to be helpful just erased my friend's iphone 4. Is there anyway to restore any of the functions at all? The screen only shows the Apple Logo now.
I plan to sell my old iPhone 2, there are many private file, like photos, videos in it, I have deleted them all, but I found it is still can be recovered by a iPad data recovery app, I worry my private info to be misused by someone else. So how can I permanently erase data, photos, and videos on iPad? Is there some iPad data eraser app?
I've never logged in the Apple site on a laptop before - I have been getting the same message 'Unable to verify iCloud account' every time I try and erase all data and content from my iPhone 4s. When I go to iCloud on my laptop and sign in using my Apple ID it signs me in. These are the same log in details I am prompted for when trying to erase all data/content from the phone.
I'm probably gonna get flamed, but here goes.I have a 32 3GS that I jailbroke with Spirit for 3.1.3. I got my new iP4 and wanted to reset the phone with out getting away from 3.1.3 (so I could rejailbreak super easy for sale). I did "Reset all Data and Settings" under the settings menu. From what I understand, this would erase all music, videos, email accounts, texts, ect and also erase everything from the JB, themes, apps, mods, ect. Basically reset it back to 3.1.3 stock, without using iTunes.I was under the impression this would take somewhere between 1 - 2 hrs. But the Apple logo and Progress Bar showed up, the Bar filled up after a minute or two and the phone restarted. It then sat at the Apple logo for over 10 minutes before I noticed. I assumed it was "bricked" and attempted to go into DFU mode. When I would hold down the SLeep and Home buttons the Apple Logo would disappear and phone would turn off, but then immediately attempt to restart without me doing anything. So DFU button combo didn't do anything, I also tried Recovery mode to no avail. Is sitting at the Apple Boot Logo forever supposed to be part of this process? Anything else I can do? I am thinking of letting the batt just die completely and recharging it and hoping that will break the endless reboot so I can DFU or Recovery mode the thing.
When I erase all content and reset my phone to factory standards it doesn't erase my contacts. Help I want to give it to someone else and obviously don't want my contacts in phone
I'm selling my E63 and so want to clear all my personal data. Removed the memory card and SIM. Done "Restore factory settings" on the phone menu. Done *#7370#. But still when I go into the phone search function, I can find the headers and email addresses of all my old emails that were on there! How do I purge the search results or just properly get rid of ALL my data on the phone?
I have run the update and something has gone bad. Not only I've lost all contacts, mails, SMS and so on, but I can't find anywhere the backup that Desktop Manager claimed to have executed while updating.
Upgraded today on work WIFI - went to amazon.com via Chrome on my S5 - his login data was there. Logged in, his CC information, address, etc. all accessible. He does not have access to my phone as I'm on a secure floor at work and my phone never leaves my pocket.
I'm selling one of my 3GS, it is jailbroken 3.1.2 and unlocked. What do I do to safely wipe out my personal information and not loose the jailbreak?I also want to make sure that it is ready for the buyer to use overseas.
My question here is,if I have the unlimited data plan on my iPhone 4S,can I add the personal hotspot feature without changing my data plan? I know that personal hotspot is an extra charge but i'd like to keep my unlimited data while still being able to use the personal hotspot.
When updating the software, do not send anything that destroy the users personal settings. And do not come with any BS that the programming system requires it. Now I will not accept any updates that require a lot of extra job from me to make safety copies and restore my personal info. No more.
2 weeks ago i put my iphone 4s (bought just a year ago) in to washing machine with clothes. It did work with rice but it did come on with 'Reviveaphone" kit. iPhone is charging and texts are coming through but touch screen not responding. So, I think I've lost the battle in getting my iphone back as it was. I'm going to buy a new iphone. But first I want to back up my data on old iphone to icloud - best way to do this? Also, I then want to delete all my personal data from old iphone - but not sure how to do this with iphone screen not working.
