Nokia :: 5230 Can Not See Directly Copied MP Files?

I have a strange experience with my 5230. When I use the Nokia Phone Browser function from the PC Suite via USB and I copy MP3 music files directly into the phone memory card into the Music folder from my PC, then the phone does not display the added MP3 files list! But those can be played from the phone via USB connection with OVI Player and the files can be seen and modified with the Nokia Phone Browser. The files can be seen on the phone only then if I copy those there via the OVI Player transfer function.Is there any solution for this problem?

I'm trying to move a few files around on my memory card whilst the phone is plugged into my pc. There is over a gb of free space on the memory card. I get error: "The selected files could not be copied there is not enough free space on the device".
- I'm moving files, not copying so it shouldn't need any free space.
- Even if it did need free space there is more than enough available on the card.
How can I move files around?

Some of the files are not getting copied to the sdcard like mp3 files. the message says 'the file will not get copied or will not be read'. all this started after i changed my old sd card of 2gb to my new 32 gb transcend class 10. even my phone has stopped giving incoming ringtones.

I just got this phone and I am new with symbians.. The thing is every time I put a sis file in my mobile..
It says "its not compatible with the phone". So even if I install it the file does not work...
Actually, all the themes that I have found for 5230 are sis files and they r not supported...
All the .jar files work just fine.

I have the 128GB model and I was transferring 32GB worth of music over to my 6P and before it completed I was getting warnings that files couldn't be copied. I stopped it and then looked at the phone on my PC and it was saying it's size was 24.1 GB. It shows the same thing when I look at the storage on the phone. What happened?

I bought a 5230, put pdf, zip, Word & Excel files in memory card, but phone is unable to display them. "Unknown format".But according to specs : http://www.forum.nokia.com/devices/5230, it should handle all those formats.Does anyone have a clue? Should I upgrade firmware?

Have a new Nokia 5230 the Maps application was working fine and now get this on the PC Ovi. Cannot find maps or voice guidance on your device. This is due to either of the following reasons:Your device does not support the Nokia Maps application. The maps and voice guidance files are corrupted Ok then went to help and deleted the files as advised.
If you see a notification in Nokia Ovi Suite Maps that your device's maps or voice guidance files may have been corrupted, switch the device's USB mode to the mass storage USB mode. Then, from your device's memory card, look for a folder named Cities and a file named qf, and delete them. After that, switch back to the PC Suite USB mode. Refer to the user guide of your device for more detailed information on selecting or changing the USB mode.

I got my 5230 updated to 20.0.005 last time, and actually it's a good update. The performance is better than before, but I encountered a problem that really annoying me.I love listening to music. It's everything for me. But now the music player can't detect new music files, even it's imported from a blue tooth connection. After I save it from the inbox, sometimes it said "General : System Error". The files is inside the memory card, but can't be detected by the music player although I refresh the music library. The same thing happened when I import some music files from the computer using Nokia PC Suite. In the library, there is the artist's name or the album's name, but after I clicked it, there isn't any music files inside. What happened actually with the music player?About the memory card, I got it from the phone package. It's 2 GB, and still has approx. 130 MB free. Is it the memory card or the update?

i'm unable to install java applications or java games into e:/ memory card.. but i can only install them into phone memory and phone memory is full and phone memory is use when you open application to run.. so i need to put this jar/jad games & application to e:/ memory card.. but it only goes to 75% when installing then unable to install..please help.. many of application unable to run because phone memory is full.do i need something like install properly the memory card to lock into phone or something?

I am using nokia 5230. The problem is whenever I select option Refresh Library, the device is unable to load new music files which I have transferred to memory card using PC suite. Music player is unable to load music files which are stored in memory card. I even updated the phone software but unable to solve this problem, but other files such as videos and images. I am able to see in gallery. Only problem is with the music files.....

I have an SIII but no one seems to be viewing those forums so I thought I would ask here. I've always stored my music in folders sorted by artist and never bothered with tagging as long as the file names started with numbers. I have over 300 gigs in music so I'm not about to start tagging now. my 32 gig sd card has 4500 music files.The music player doesn't play nice with my sorting - artist view winds up showing the same artists 10 times or sorts out compiltation albums while folder view has every single album (300-400 or so) sorted alphabetically.
I would like to go into the external sd card and play directly from there. I can do that, but only a single track will play and you can't use any other apps or browse when the track plays. Am I stupid or something?This is the main reason why I've always used Cowon music players or my sansa clip, I can simply go into folders and play. I have media monkey and love it but even there I use the folder directory.

I want a shortcut that takes me to my SMS inbox directly. Currently I have one for the messaging application, but that requires me to click "down" (to select Inbox) and then "open".I've searched around a bit and it doesn't seem possible - you can only define shortcuts for applications. But wouldn't it be possible to make an app that opens the inbox and point a shortcut to it? If such an application for S60 exists, I would appreciate if someone could link to it.Yeah, I know it's just two extra clicks the current way, but it's these kind of small things I find annoying with my new Nokia phone (a 6730 classic) - "with so many options, why can't I configure something this basic?". Well, hopefully someone has a good solution, and if not, I guess I can live with it.

Ive deleted data and restored.uninstalled social and re-installed.I then send 2 pics straight from taking a photo and it loads to facebook and then NOTHING.
Everytime i have tried doing something different to get it to work it only ever works once or twice before failing forever.My partner has never had a problem.
This is one of the main 4 reasons for getting this phone and its beeping me off now, well its been beeping me off since i got the phone.Free beer for anyone that solves the problem

It is not possible to upload an ICAL or ICS entry directly into the calendar. Calendar should recognize the mime type for a calendar entry so that if a Weblink is clicked (such as an air or hotel reservation), it can instantly be loaded in to the calendar. Similarly, if an email arrives with an ICS attrachment, it should also be recognized.
If one cannot sync (i.e. using Linux), one should be able to transfer an ICS or ICAL event to the device an click on the file from within the 5800 and have the entry added to calendar. I can transfer to the device. Just cannot automatically import entries to calendars.

I have a problem with c6 and bh-105. How to get call directly to Bluetooth hands-free? User manual says "press answer on headset and hold 2 seconds". I did it, but when call is ended, new call goes to phone again, not to headset When I am calling someone, there is similar situation.
