While this update has only rolled out to the WiFi-only population thus far, we will use this thread for issues on ANY Xoom device going forward. That way we can keep redundant threads to a minimum and share issues where everyone can help verify and find alternate solutions (if possible). This will also allow Motorola to review issues have surfaced, look for potential hardware conflicts and pass along common systemic problems to Google.

I have noticed some interesting quirks and am hoping it is an issue of operator error.Some text input fields in web sessions force all uppercase letters and disable the backspace key when using the BT keyboard.While I type this with the famed MOT BT keyboard I had to copy and paste the text into the title in order to get lower case letters.Also, in this message field I am unable to type a nine or open parens but can type both in the title field. Also the arrow keys act like tab keys and will not move the cursor.It is especially frustrating as anytime I try to send a message in Facebook the keyboard forces all caps and disables the back button.Not good for someone like me that types 100WPM with 88 mistakes.
Also when I turn on my Miscrosoft BT 5000 mouse the keyboard starts to go nuts with repeating keys and constantly disconnecting.When I turn the moust off the keyboard is okay except for the issues listed above.
I guess after the update it has decided it won't post the correct temp in the taskbar.. I cleared the cache in the app.. The only way it shows the correct temp is to reboot the Xoom.. I open weather bug and the temperature is right but isn't what shows in the taskbar nor does it update it in the taskbar.

I initially thought it was better after changing the long press from short to long but it really doesn't seem to have any direct affect on the random ones that are occuring.

View 15 Replies View RelatedMy recently bought Xoom is randomly performing interruptions of the long press. While interruptions are going on, it doesn't prevent me from pressing, but it stops any long press just as if I had moved out the finger, with wicked effects:
- Any slow scroll gets interrupted;
- Selection with long press gets cut into a regular tap;
- Use of secondary characters on keyboard (via long press) becomes impossible;
- Swype turns into a regular keyboard, since the drag line gets constantly cut.
It's like the press had a variable timeout that comes really low, to a second or milliseconds. That happens frequently (but not always) right after boot/unlock. After that random period (from seconds to about a minute), everything works fine. It's not a lag or delay, it is an interruption, like a timeout.
Since yesterday my Blackberry has stopped working. I tried rebooting several tomes but whenever i reboot it and the BB gets hanged"Uncaught exception : Application Registry.getOrWait for (0x7c802411365c3985) owner died Thread [thread- 86830080,5]"

Called VZW up they claim that google pushed out an update which breaks Nav. I called BS, then he tried to blame it on the hurricane.I have been through 4 of these phones, all with different annoying problems, Getting tired of it.

I'm going with Motorola because it's about unlocking the Milestone to use elsewhere.Please post in here if you obtained an unlock code for a Telus Milestone and it worked. Even better would be a screenshot or photo/video of the screen, showing your Milestone is running on a non-Telus operator (double bonus if it shows 3G/HSPA reception). Let us know if there were any specific options you had to choose when buying the unlock code to make sure it's for the correct Milestone.
Please *also* post in here if the unlock code *didn't* work and let us know who sold you the lemon.
I noticed you can post your workout to FB/Twitter but I don't want the link to show the actual map route for safety reasons obviously. can i not have to feature be part of the post? If so how do I shut it off?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI was at the Texas State Fair this weekend, and a Verizon guy was trying to con my family into all these "deal." He did have a Bionic, which I managed to get to play with. It was not long before I concluded that the Bionic is way faster than the DROID3. And that's with livewallpapers on. I fired up the camera app, did some browsing on the browser, and nothing. No redraw, no lag.
Now, the launcher speed did improve with the update. But it is still not up to speed with Bionic, it will still redraw coming out of intensive apps, and Launcher Pro blows it out of the water in all but one area. Oh and I went through quite a few pages on the Bionic forums, and did a search for both "lag" and "redraw" and came up fairly empty. With live wallpapers on, Launcher Pro's app drawer drops frames. Live wallpapers doesn't seem to affect the stock launcher at all. Overall LP is faster, but not that one little area.
So when are we going to get some attention around here in Bionic soak test land???
1. After the upgrade Music App which came preloaded in GB 2.3.6 is no longer available in ICS. ( i got app hellobob - member atrix 2)I purchased this mobile phone because of music clarity & superb beats which were in the music app CMP preloaded in 2.3.6. There were some disadvantages with this player but agianst sound clarity they were nothing.
2. After the upgrade Task manager app is also not available.
3. music player haas been replaced with googles glay music app (google Play) which is totally upsetting, no clarity in the sound, noisy sharp voice, no beats clarity. (nokia mobile which are within 2000rs play better than this.)
4. Unable to control the memory consumed by runnig application,. of 1 GB RAM if you continue install more app phone will start hanging beccause of you are unable to control the running process which are consuming lot of memory. This is big drawback in terms of performance of mobile.
5. No option to above in the phone settings. No of processes shifts to standad every time when you restart the phone. This setting is availble under developer option, i am not sure if this control the running apps.
6. Upon the power button press immediately open up password screen for enterprise users this is sometimes may cause problem if user keeping mobile pocket & get keys preseed automatically, or keys pressed by kids or friends not knowing the password. Additionaly no of attemps remaining is not displaying, earlier used to display the same. This is really big drawback - as entire phone data will be erased including data on SD card.
7. Vibration control features are not available.There are some more important basic simple phone features in terms of user options ( accessbility) missing in motorola atrix 2 (may be other motorola phones as well) - major drawback - which I shall open another thread to discuss the same. This features I had in my Nokia 6233 which I had purchased 6 years back (might have been designed 7yrs back). That was just an 7 MB ROM mobile. These missing features really making me unhappy with Atrix 2/Motorola.
Since I have gotten the ICS update my facebook app is not working correctly everytime I try to post something it crashes! Another question, why am I forced to use 4g with this new ics upgrade? It eats up my data more quickly I would rather use the 3g.
View 2 Replies View RelatedSo sometime yesterday BLUR started acting lame and not letting me post Facbook statuses or comments, I kept having to retry my email to load and it did eventually but I was trying to delete my Facebook account and re-add it and it said error so I did a factory reset because I haven't done one in months. Entered my BLUR password and email and BAM it keeps saying, Error signing in please try again and I'm freaking the heck out. I can't get on my phone! So I'm sitting here trying to sign into the BLUR site which loaded slowly and I get this and I keep trying to sign into the site, same message. I tried creating a new account on my phone and got the same error...
View 5 Replies View RelatedSince receiving the OTA GB update, I have run into an issue where the phone will not make calls. After dialing a number and hitting send, the phone looks like it is about to dial but immediately goes to 'End Call' and disconnects. I'm seeing the same thing after hitting a direct-dial shortcut. The dial screen comes up with the contact's phone number and as soon as the phone connects to start dialing, it immediately goes to 'End Call.' Time of call in every instance is 00:00.
This has happened twice in the last 3 days and the only way I have found to correct it is to pull the battery. A powerdown/reboot does not do anything. The annoyance is magnified since I am using an Otterbox Defender case and have to remove it to access the battery (grrrr!)

View 3 Replies View RelatedHave noticed that my Photon can't seem to hold a WIFI connection. I can be sitting right next to my router, and it will drop the connection and start scanning again. Have noticed the same thing with other wifi connections at work. Also the WIFI connection sometimes goes dormant/gray and won't wake up on its own. The only solution is to turn the wifi connection off/on, or to cycle the power on the router. Not sure if its a setting that kills the connection after a period of inactivity, have looked in the settings but can't seem to find anything. I have had this problem pre and post update, but am frustrated as I've just passed my 30 days to return the phone easily if something is wrong with the phone.
View 3 Replies View RelatedAs soon as my phone had installed the latest update, i lost the ability to send or receive text messages. The only time I can send or receive is if i am on a phone call. As soon as the call is done, my text messaging is non-functional. I have no issues with calls/internet browsing/apps...just text messaging.
Furthermore, i do not know if this a phone issue or an AT&T issue.
Seems since the update yesterday AM my battery has been draining faster. Haven't made any changes to smart actions or any other settings, but seems I'm down about another 20% at the end of work day the last 2 days. Still not dissatisfied by any means, just curious. Also, last 2 days Android OS has been top on battery use list, compared to prior to update, where it was farther down.Also, never dropped 4G prior to last outage, and now post update/post outage seem to be waffling much more between 3G and 4G.

View 11 Replies View RelatedFinally installed GB, immediately noticed from icon visual changes, thats cool, however the H+ icon in the notifications bar, is a white box now (with H+ in black) and the battery is asolid green battery shape, both icons before were much better detail wise, can I change those or stuck with them?2) At teh bottom the green phone has change positions and graphics, ok I supposed will get used to it, same for O moved to right and different icon, ok again.However I now have two in middle one envelope and one odd blue one, I'd like to move them, but do not seem able to, holding down the icon and moving to trash does not work

It worked well for me prior to ICS, and now if it is opened, the app will lock up, or the screen will lock up, or the phone will reboot itself. View 1 Replies View RelatedWhen I click from either the "Notification" screen, or the Text Message List, I am directed to the wrong text messaging thread. This doesn't happen every time, it happens every day, and multiple times, however. Usually, when I reboot the phone, the problem is gone...momentarily.
It seems to happen with random messages. I use Universal Inbox and currently see message from text, Facebook, Twitter, Gmail and my AT&T mail.
If I use the stock Text Messaging app, I can open the list of messages and see whatever I can from the preview there, but when I click to open the thread, it will open a totally random message thread. Weird. I'm not that into text messaging, but it does annoy me when I need to use it and I can't open individual messages because the wrong ones are appearing.
I don't know if this is a device problem, a software/app problem, an AT&T messaging problem or what. I'm somewhat ignorant about smartphones and have only had this Atrix 2 for about three months.
So I had music on my xoom but accidently deleted it. I tried going in my computer files to copy and paste songs from my itunes into my folder on xoom called music but says wrong format. I don't know what to do.
