View 1 RepliesI'm about 2 seconds from returning my Xoom Family Edition. I am furious at the fact I can't do something as simple as play music with the screen off without hearing static and constant clicking through my headphones. Only when the screen is off, too. Is this a common problem? Even my first gen single-core droid X doesn't behave this way when I play music using the very same apps with the screen off. It handles it fine, no clicks, no pops, no static, no bullcrap. Why is my supposedly "powerful" machine
View 5 Replies View RelatedExperiencing static or hissing sound over speakerphone and headphones? This is improved by turning Audio Effects OFF, but not eliminated. I also went to the Verizon store and tried out a display Razr M and it had the same problem. This is very noticeable over headphones when listening in a quiet room. The behavior is independent of audio source, headphone type and speaker vs. headphone jack.

They just sent me a link for a possible work around telling me to change from Dynamic IP address to Static, however i have no clue how to do this. Is this a setting i can access from the xoom or is it something i need to do at the PC/router?

I'm wondering if anyone is experiencing this. When there is wifi activity, I can hear a slight parasite noise if i'm listening to music (using wire connected headphones).

View 13 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to set my Droid Bionic phone up with a static IP address because of a finicky router. I've checked the "Use static IP" box and entered all of the settings (ip address, gateway, dns, etc.) but my phone still keeps trying to use DHCP to get settings from the router and eventually fails. How do I set a static IP address on this phone? This option worked on my old Nexus S 4G phones with Gingerbread and Ice Cream Sandwich. I don't want to use up any more of my data on Verizon than I have to.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI'm having several issues with my Motorola Photon 4G. The first problem and must frustrating problem is that from time to time my phone will reboot when a call ends (either a drop call or hang up). I've tried removing the SD card and turning off HAC but none of these suggestions resolve my problem. The second issue is that from time to time my phone will not ring even if I have full service. I have several Sprint phones (Epic 4G, iPhone, Transform) and if I leave them all on the same table in my home can call them from my house phone they all ring when I call them.
When I call my Photon it will only ring 3 out of 5 times. On my house phone the call does not go direct to voicemail. At my house all the phone signal strengths are maxed out. The third issue is that if I turn on the speaker phone my call gets very staticy. The only way for me to fix this issue is to hang up and all the party again (simply turning off the speaker phone does not resolve the problem). This problem happens 100% of the time.
Like many of us, I have experienced the problem of noise from the headphone port of my Bionic. This was prevalent no matter what I was listening too (music, podcast, phone call, etc), and was most noticeable when in the car, plugged into the aux jack of my stereo.
A friend suggested getting a ground loop isolator, and I found one on Amazon for around $12 with free shipping. It arrived on Friday, and let me tell you, THE DIFFERENCE IS AMAZING! All the noise is gone, and my music sounds significantly better. No more hiss or noise. I didn't realize how much I had gotten used to it being there.

When my BlueParrott Xpressway headset is connected to my Bionic and I answer a call using my headset, 50% of the time I get a loud blast of static that lasts anywhere from 4-10 seconds. After the static blast, the headset works just like it did with my old Devour. I also get the same static blast about 30% of the time when I try to use voice commands. I have tried taking calls in several locations, thinking I was getting some type of "noise" from something else, but I still got the static blast.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a Droid Razr paired with a Blue Parrot BTX-250. Most of the time(not all), when either making or receiving a call, the phone is broadcasting static to the speaker circuit of the BT. People can still hear and understand me. The static lasts for anywhere from 1/2 second to 5 seconds then goes away. It is only doing this during calls. I can use the voice command to initiate a call and the phone understands me and I can understand it, then when the Razor connects the phone circuit to the BT it will give the static(most of the time). Went to a Verizon store and tech guy verified all this. BT is two months old and worked fine with last phone last week. We are fairly certain it is a software issue with Droid.
View 8 Replies View RelatedAny audio that I stream to bluetooth speakers (Supertooth Disco) or headphones (Jabra Halo) has a lot of static and an occasional (and very annoying) popping sound. I've tried a few different programs both streaming audio and playing directly from the SD card. I have also tried using airplane mode to see if the other radios were causing the interference. I turned off all audio effects/EQ in the control panel as well. Everything sounds great wired directly to the speakers and my old phone doesn't have the same problem over bluetooth in the same environment.

The browsing speed is very very slow and most sites dont open. The signal strength shown in xoom is - (-105 dBm 3 asu).Is this a issue with Android 3.2 update or my home wifi is weak? Would i be able to reset the tab to the original version?

Has anyone had any success with using Wifi that required user certificates? I'm trying to get my Xoom to connect to the corporate network (EAP-TLS) and followed the instructions for the IPad and imported my certificated into Android correctly. But when I connect, it hangs at the connecting state for minutes, before finally giving up.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have an Atrix 4g and my friend gave me his Iphone 4s Headphones. It can play music just fine but I want more functionality out of it.
I'm too cheap to buy new headphones. On the iphone headphones there is a 2 button controller (+ and -) that does not work.I would like it to control my Atrix volume and perhaps select the next/previous track.I went to the marketplace and tested that app "Headset button controller" but it doesn't work.Is there any other way for me to get the full functionality out of these iphone 4s headphones?
I JUST got this on Tuesday at night and today is the first time I'm set to run with it. I plug my headphones in and get ready to run (I sync with GPS and everything)... only to have music not work. Ok that's weird, I go to the FM radio and it says, "No Signal Connect headphones to listen to FM radio".
If I spin the headphone jack around it works once and then quits on me. I then can't get it working at all. If I power down or up I can hear EVERYTHING (beeps). That's without moving the headphone jack and after getting the error (that I can hear the beeps fine by leaving the moto on the table).
For the last week or so I've noticed, much to my embarassment, that sometimes the speaker is playing whatever music I'm listening to with my headphones plugged in. This is really frustrating in cubeland, as I hate to be a noisy neighbor, especially when it comes to sharing music. The fix is relatively simple, but temporary and annoying: restart the phone. This has happened every day I've used my headphones at work for the last week or two, and I'm getting tired of it.
So, my question to everyone is: Has this happened to you, and do you know if this is a software or hardware issue? Should I get this thing swapped out under warranty, or should I just wait for the next software update?
Is it possible that you can use audible alerts on it without headphones? Also is there are any plans for maybe a feature to track your sleep using the accelerometer?Since you can use it to track everyday activity in terms of calories and stepps walked during the day. It seems like a great tool for that.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI alternate between wireless (bluetooth) and wired headphones. Today when I tried to connect my wireless headphones, a pop-up message appeared telling me to first disconnect my wired headphones. The problem is that I had no wired headphones connected. I tried connecting/removing the wired headphones, rebooting, etc., but I am still unable to connect the wireless headphones.
As a FYI, this started to occur at the same time I received a message telling me to connect my device to receive an update, but when I connect to my computer I get a message that I am up to date.
My issue is that the red headset that came with the MOTOACTV unit doesn't get recognized. When I try to play music with them plugged in, it just doesn't do anything (play button doesn't turn to pause), and if I try to use the FM radio, it tells me that I need to insert a headset. I have tried to rotate the plug around, to pull it out slightly, or to push it in and make sure that it is 100% snug. None of the above actions have changed the result.
I tried using the MOTOACTV with another pair of headphones that I had, and had no issues playing music or the radio through them. So the unit seemed okay.
This lead me to believe that the headphones were defective, but when I plug them into both my ipad and also droid RAZR directly, not only do they work as headphones, but the microphone seems to work as well. So that kind of rules out the headphones too.
On my iPod I use regular in ear headphones with a 3.5 mm jack, but also have a dongle type thing in line with them so I can control the volume, advance songs, that kind of thing. Is there something for the Motorola phone like that? I have been looking all over. I use my phone while running and want to skip songs sometimes. I tried a few Bluetooth headsets and they allow this function, but none are comfortable or sound all that great.
