I am preparing for a trip on the West Coast and would like to have my stop's or potential stop's preloaded on the Navigator so I can pull it up and see where I am and all the stops on the same map. I want to see my current location and choose which destination to go to based on what I see on the map.
View 6 RepliesI have a motorola xoom 4G verizon tablet with a corporate sync account setup to sync calendar, contacts and email.Problem:The Xoom only synchronizes the default "Contacts" folder and default "Calendar" folder. It will not synchronize any other contact folders or calendar folders.My droid X and droid Bionic sync any contact folders and calendar folders that are in my corporate account.Why does this work on my android phones but not on my xoom tablet?I know that I can spend money on the touchdown application but why does this work on 1 version of android and not on the honeycomb version?

View 4 Replies View RelatedI think the way I want to use Messaging on my E72 is pretty straight forward: I have one Ovi mail account that I want my phone to check once every hour.When I'm at home I want the phone to use my wifi hotspot, and when away from home to use the cell network. This seems like a reasonably low demand request.
The problem is that every time it want to connect to the server it pops up the destinations request window in which I am required to "Select connection" with the options "Search for WLAN" and "Internet". The "Internet" choice (which is set up according to my prioritised list of access points) is set as the default, but it still brings up the pop-up window in which I have to
choose between "Search for WLAN" and "Internet".
The net result of this is that every hour when the phone is supposed to check for mail it gets as far as the destinations pop-up window where I have to choose between "Search for WLAN" and "Internet". If I do not happen to see that it is requesting this and physically choose the "Internet" connection, it never connects and I never receive notification of new mail.
Two weeks ago, I was travelling to another country and inserted a different SIM and installed it's settings, but when I came back and installed the orignal SIM, I lost some of the selection options Network Destination for Exchange and OVI Maps only...Previously I could see different options under Network Destinations such as 'Data Package' and access points which I had connected to previously. Now I only see 'Internet' and this has only affected the two applications mentioned above. I also have Hotmail & Gmail which give me the other options so I find it strange why has this happened to Exchange and OVI Maps only (even after updating the maps application).
This is preventing me from using my service provider's Data Package connection for these apps. I've contacted the provider and installed the default configuration settings recieved via SMS but that didn't help
i'm using a Nokia 5800 XM with the last firmware. i'm experiencing a problem, since nearly two months from now: when i go in Settings > Connection > Network Destinations and I click on "Internet", it won't open and it remains in the Network Destinations menu. I can open all the other items, but Internet won't open. I can only see that there are 17 destinations (I think most of them are Wi-Fi hotspots I used before).

It used to work fine earlier but now when on using the web browser it just shows wifi under the internet destinations.I have gprs configured as an accesspoint inside internet destination and it worked great earlier but now for some reason it is no more visible to any apps.I tried restoring the phone to factory settings, reformatted it and even reflashed the 3.78 firmware but couldn't fix the problem.

The browsing speed is very very slow and most sites dont open.The signal strength shown in xoom is - (-105 dBm 3 asu).Is this a issue with Android 3.2 update or my home wifi is weak? Would i be able to reset the tab to the original version?

View 5 Replies View RelatedIn september I bought an 8330 curve. It worked great, and other than a few small things (not comfirming bbm contacts) it worked awesome, solid, never unstable. The screen started to have bubbles on the inside of it, so I took it in on warranty, and was given a new one AFTER I was sent home to make a backup. I get the new phone, came directly home and reloaded the backup. The next day, it started randomly rebooting. Even if it was just sitting there.
Sunday it shut off and when it tried to restart it just went to JVM error 102. If you reset it or did a hard reset it would always go to JVM error 102 when it tried to boot. I was out of town, and use my phone for work, so I was tickled pink, since its supposedly brand new.
Monday night they give me a new one AGAIN because nobody at the store can seem to fix it or figure it out. I go home, reload my data, wich is now a week old, and within a few hours it randomly starts rebooting agian. Then it wouldnt start, just flash the red LED, wich it did regardless of how many times I tried a hard restart. Eventualy this morning after 8 hours of flashing the red LED, I did a hard restart and it work.
I don't download apps. I use the phone, text, email, and I email pictures to my boss. Its the main reason i have a BB, so I dont get killed on MMS message charges, I just have unlimited email and I send the pics on email. The odd time I browse. And I don't do any of the things ppl talk about on crackberry where they are farting around doing things they arent supposed to and thier phone crashes. Any idea why my "new" curves keep doing this? 3rd one in 5 months, and 2 of them in the last week.
Apps? The ones that come on the phone from the factory. I live in terror that any thing else will brick my curve. I even talk nice to it.
I have contact list with records for a lot of people (300+), each with several phone numbers each, home, mobile & work, etc, .I can't seem to find a way to have the iPhone announce the name & number or name & type (home,mobile,work) of the caller from the contact list, my old cell phone could do that easily.
At the moment what I've been doing as a work around for a few (important) people is to create a custom ringtone for that caller & that phone number. Since it also seems there's no way to attach a different ringtones to each number in a single contact record I've had to create multiple contact records for each person, each with a different name/number combination such as "John Doe Work", "John Doe Home" or John Doe Mobile" then assign to it the custom ringtone I created for that name/number.
I need to this so that if I receive a call while I'm driving (or whatever) that I can't answer right then for some reason (often happens), the ringtone I created for that name & number helpfully lets me know who & where their calling from. It's very important to know where someone is calling from, if someone's calling from home then I know I've got some time, but if their calling from work then I need to get back to them quickly.
having to make multiple contacts & ringtones for a every person with multiple numbers is a extraordinary waste of time. My old cell phone could do this with no problem but there doesn't seem to be any way to do this with my new iphone.

View 34 Replies View RelatedThe new kind of t9 with nokia navigator 6710 is really really bad, I'm searching to get the older one on this phone.the problem is that when you press * to change the word, the phone become slower, and open a new window where you can see the words and choose. this thing is really uncomfortable and make you really slower and harder to complete the sms.the big problem is that you can't enable or disable this option, you must use it! this is a very bad thing from nokia, cause people must choose their way to write sms.i can disable and enable t9, so why can't i enable and disable this option? this is a bug from nokia in this phone!please help me to find a patch, a software or something else to solve this problem, or if doesn't exist i need someone that advice nokia to put something to download on the site, to solve this problem.

View 7 Replies View RelatedUnder the Tex Messaging List where you see all the contacts you've received messages from I am getting several duplicates, triplicates, etc...
For example, I send a message to my Chief and my message will not appear in the chat log instead it will create a new point in the Text Messaging. Lost?
Home Screen -> Text Messaging -> Contact Chat Log
Now however, if the contact first send me a message then I can append my messages in the Contact Chat Log and they will be syncronous. Otherer wise mine will always end up in another Contact Chat Log under Text Messaging.
I've tried rebooting, cleared my chat logs, and played with a couple of other settings. I even went through the painstaking reset to factory. I will not do that again EVER! We need a way to back up to the computer....
Is this a bug in 4.5.91.MB60.ATT.en.US on 2.3.4 Android? It started with this firmware update and hasn't gone away yet.

This morning i read in the newspaper the NOKIA gives for free the Navigator o its cellulars.I opened the Nokia WEB site and the news was real: you can free download maps for Smartphones (but non for N86). My N86 has its drive navigator with an original 10 days license (expires on 31/01/2010).
The walk navigator has a lifetime license.
I then updated the drive navigator license data, but no change. It keeps prompting me to buy a new licence for the drive navigatorr( 99 euro, one year).
It does not sound correct: is now free or not free the NOKIA navigator? Before trying Nokia Maps, I upgraded to 20.115 via software updater and it prompted me to install nokia maps 3.0, which I did.
