May 28, 2012I've tried using Motocast to play my music but it seems to ignore the track number at the start of a file name and just plays the tracks in alphabetical order not the order they are on the album.

After about 20 plus songs or so, the playlist starts all over again from the very top.... In some rare occasions, the list even starts auto shuffling itself even though shuffle isn't turned on >.< It's annoying as I have to keep going back to where I last stopped again everytime it does that. Is there any way to fix it??? I've tried turning my phone on and off and soft resetting my phone already but the problem still persists

Nokia :: N900 Music Track Order Alphabetical Not In Album Order
Jan 11, 2010I am trying to get a definitive answer as have been researching this for weeks and despite my best efforts still have no solution.I am using the fantastic N900 (well done Nokia!) and would like all my music on the device. All efforts so far have transferred music ok but album tracks always appears in alphabetical order in the music player as opposed to the album track order(not much good). This is despite careful tagging and trying with Windows Media Player, Media Monkey & Songbird to see if any work best.
I found out today that this might be due to the file being a .wma file. All my music is ripped to my PC in .wma as in my experience I find the quality vs file size is great and better by far than .mp3.Today I ripped a CD with WMP as .mp3 and after sync the track order was correct (although I do not want to use WMP through choice and certainly not .mp3, let alone re rip my entire CD Collection), my preference would be Media Monkey or Songbird with .wma.
Is this a bug or N900 problem? (I know they are different but it worked fine on N97 and N95 8gb previously with MM and .wma) Can anyone help? or even offer a recommendation or suggestion as to what they think is best format, application or way to have music on the N900 etc.

Jan 12, 2012So, got excited about the MotoACTV this past Saturday and bought online through Motorola. Realized soon after that my local REI had it in stock and I had a xmas gift certificate. Went to REI and purchased it - (Canceled my order for the Garmin 910XT in the process) Went back to the site to try and cancel my order but the 'Cancel items or order' button on my order page wasnt' functional. No biggie, I'll call. After being passed around to the same 3 depts TWICE, I was finally told the ecommerce section was closed for the weekend. Once again, I understand that.I then call on Monday, they tell me the order hasn't yet shipped but I'm not allowed to cancel it at that point. Don't quite understand and getting a bit frustrated at this point but whatever, I'll deal. Customer rep tells me that they'll issue a return slip and email it to me.
OK, I'm good with that.Wednesday comes and still no email with return slip. I call, go through the same 3 depts again and get someone else who tells me that it takes a while to get the return slip but I'll have it within 24 hours.24 hours goes by, I call again and get hung up on 3 times in the process before I can ever get to anyone. Once I get someone on the line, they tell me that it should be to me within the next couple of days... A RETURN SLIP?Once I finally lost my temper a bit, they said it would be 'escalated' and that I should be receiving it within a few hours... we'll see. They also let me know that I could not return it without the receipt.Meanwhile, I've completely soured on the one that I purchased and I'm considering returning it as well and changing my order back to the Garmin. By the way, I called Garmin's support team just to compare... night and day!
Nokia :: 6600 Slide Album Track Order?
Feb 12, 2010I've recently got my hands on a Nokia 6600 Slide, and I'm quite happy with it. I would also like to use it as my personal music player, but I have one issue.When I listen to music, I mostly listen to the whole albums, and in the case of most albums I listen to, the track order matters a lot. However, when I copy an album from my hard disk to the memory card of my phone, I cannot get the album to play in the correct track order.
For instance, I click "Play" on an album I select in the Music Player application. Then, rather than playing tracks 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 and so on, it plays track 4, 3, 6, 2, 7, 1, and so on - this track order is always the same (for one album at least), and it seems I cannot correct it. The "shuffle" function is turned off, mind you. The files are usually named "number. title.mp4", or "artist - number - title.mp4", and they all have track tags.
Motorola Razr :: Some Songs Not Playing?
Mar 2, 2012I downloaded all my music from my computer through MotoCast. All the songs show on my Razr when I go into my music library. When I am connected to my home WiFi I can play all the songs. However, when I'm on 3G (no 4G in my area) only some of the songs will play. I tried to play an album in the car today and noticed that some songs were in bold while the rest were not. The songs in bold played in order, but it skipped all sorts of songs in between. I'm really at a loss as to what is going on.

Jan 16, 2012I have a couple of problems with My Music. When connecting to my computer (iMac) over wi-fi or 3g I can access the files and stream without a problem but recently I decided to download an album to my phone and although it showed all 10 songs downloaded in the notifications bar, only 2 songs appeared in the app. I tried repeating the process, again it was downloading for a while and showed all as done, but nothing new appeared in the album. I checked the location of the files and they're there - really no idea what the problem could be. I rebooted the phone - nothing.
I noticed that some of the files are mp3 and some m4a but in both types there's more than 2 files so compatibility rather unlikely. The music app is incredibly slow, even when playing files from the phone, not over the internet. I posted a separate discussion on the phone being really slow in comparison with iOS5, but I notice it especially with My Music. Does anyone else have the same problem and is there a solution? Something in settings maybe? I'm new to Android so it's likely no answer will be to basic.

Jul 31, 2012Every since I upgraded my Droid RAZR MAXX to ICS I've been having a problem playing music that is saved on my 32-Gig SD card. Prior to the upgrade I didn't have the problem. 8 out of 10 songs will skip for 2 seconds after playing for 10 seconds. The 10 seconds is consistent, but as I said 8 out of 10 songs will skip.
When the skipping occurs the device is totally unresponsive; screen and buttons (including power). After the skipping the song will play without any problems. It doesn't appear to be song specific as I've had the same song skip and then not skip. I'm using Verizon's My Music, but the same thing happens with Play Music and PowerAmp. I even fiddled with PowerAmp settings to have a large buffer and increased the priority without any change in the skipping.

I'd like to see a list of the songs that were played (in order) but can't seem to find a log or history. I went to the last song played and tapped the Back button until it reached the first song but I errantly tapped it one more time and it took me to the main menu and I couldn't return to my songs in the order they were played.

If we use this it will sort with Artists first and below it will show the Album name. I live in India, and here we generally listen to songs by movie/album wise not by artist.... I having nightmare in searching the albums as they are sorted by artists first..... I also use Nokia 5800 XM in that we got seperate option "sort by Album" but it is combined with artists in Nokia Symbian^3 phones.....I love the new music player the way it shows the album arts but the only thing is it removed the sort by Album option..
