Motorola Motoactv :: Polar WearLink+ Bluetooth Will Not Show?
Aug 4, 2012
I cannot connect may Polar WearLink+ Bluetooth heart rate monitor to motoactv any suggestions? When it scans for the device it comes up none found. however the Polar WearLink+ Bluetooth connects to my phone just fine.
Does the MOTOACTV pair with the Polar Wearlink+ Bluetooth Coded Heart Rate Transmitter Set?? I belong to LifeTime Fitness and was disappointed to find out that all of their Cardio equipment only work with Polar Heartrate Monitors/Straps.I just bought my MOTOACTV a week ago. I need to buy a Heart Rate Strap. I understand it can work with both the ANT+ technology and BlueTooth.
Polar has just released a low energy Bluetooth HR transmitter. That unit will talk to a Motorola Droid Razr. I'm thinking the droid and moto are the same technology and it will work with the moto, can anyone confirm this? I'd love to phase out the current straps for a more reliable bluetooth. The guys using bluetooth on their phone have none of the HR spikes, drops, we do. It is much more seemless and reliable. The Moto is the only wrist device that supports bluetooth, but so far they've not been able to get it to work, so I'm wondering what the latest scoop is.
I bought my wife a MotoActv for Mother's Day. She has been using a beginners version of a polar watch. Is there anything in the works that she will be able to use the strap that came with the Polar watch with her MA?
I've been running with the motoactv for about a month and not one of my workouts every shows up on the website.I have the latest updates. My date is correct. Motocast tells me I've synced ok.On the latest workout page the following message is displayed along with Key Features A, B and C.The wellness activity tracker shows activity for every workout. No workout data?Once you've got some workouts recorded by MOTOACTV, you can evaluate them here with pinpoint precision.
Motoactv website seems to be showing all the information about the run (distance, time, pace) correctly. However the map is totally wrong. It only shows about the last mile of my run. Anyone know if there is any way to show that data?
Unless I am missing something, I think the homepage of the MA Portal should show a summary of all of your workouts (split by workout type). So it should show a summary of total miles and calories for bikes rides, total miles and calories for runs, etc.ight now it just shows the summary of your last workout. Is there even a way to get this summary information? When I go to the Workouts tab and go to Recent Workouts, it looks like you can only see 3-4 weeks at a time.
When I set a target of type "distance & time" (e.g 5 km in 25 minutes), I can not see my progress against my virtual opponent, that is, I can not see how far or how fast I am doing against that target. Just appears my data, and none from the opponent. I already have the opponent screen enabled. When I compete against a previously saved workout, it works fine.
can I see my progress against the opponent when I set a "distance & time" target, or it only works when I compete against previously saved workouts?
I'm interested in getting the S10 bluetooth headphones and wanted to see how good they are. I will mainly use for running, but will also use when I ride my bike by myself.- Is it really sweatproof?- How does it fit under a bike helmet?
Is MOTOACTV compatible with any bluetooth headset? My boyfriend bought me a "Stereo Bluetooth Headset" by AudiosynQ I set the device in pairing mode and navigated to the "Add Headset" section under wireless settings but the device kept saying it was unable to find the headset. Do I need to have MOTOACTV paired with my phone (Iphone) somehow first or pair the headset with my phone first and then MOTOACTV?
I thought my battery life issues had been resolved. But i jsut recently got a set of bluetooth ( Jabra SPORT Bluetooth Stereo Headset ) headphones and noticed that battery life is back down to nothing ( 3.5 hrs ish).
I'm wondering does anyone have a rough estimate of the battery drain that blutooth has on the ACTV ? should i jsut give up and go back to wired for cycling :(
how to squeeze more juice in blutetooth mode . I'm already in marathon mode , with short screen timeout. I don't anve and ANT+ stuff going on..
Jaybirds work very well with my Motoactv compared to the problems with Motorolas SF600. Playing mp3 I have no problems, but I recently tried the radio function with my bluetooth Jaybirds and it tells me to connect headphones to work?
just finished my run on the .73 version for the first time. The device battery definitely lasts a little bit longer -- still dies close to 3 hours. Won't last all the way through my marathon training. That said, a couple of other things also happened. I added the Garmin foot pod to the devices linked to the MOTOACTV. I also have the Jaybird Freedom 3 as a bluetooth headset connected. Two things happened:
1. Approx 1.25mi into the run, i went to look down at the watch and it stopped tracking. I didn't hear anything in my ear -- no "workout stopped/paused" nothing. I heard it "workout started" when I began.
2. With the Garmin foot pod my avg. pace was higher -- than using the MOTOACTV without a pod (just the gps) -- is that normal?
3. About mid-way through the run, my music stopped -- i looked down at the MOTOACTV and noticed the bluetooth icon was gone (i.e., disconnected). I'm not sure why, i checked my headset and it was still on.
I have a set of Jaybird JF3 Freedom BT headphones (fantastic running headphones BTW!) - both the Motoactv manual and the device itself tell me that when the Motoactv and my BT headset are in range of each other and powered on, they will auto-connect. Of the 30+ times I've used them, this only happened once. Every other time I have to go into Settings - Wireless - BT Headsets-JF3 Freedom and hit the "Reconnect" button - then they reconnect right away. One random time, they auto-connected. I didn't do anything different than I normally do.
I've been watching this product (and these forums) since the MA came out. Now that I'm cleared to run again, I'm really ready to make a purchase. I am so completley on the fence between this and a Garmin. I realize people are more apt to post the negative over the positive so help me make a comparative list:PRO MANo separate IPOD!will track other activitiesbluetooth headphonesMatt's responsiveness on these forumsCon MA (concerns, eally)battery lifeonline portal issues (as seen on these forums)"water damage" issue - rated as ipx7?!GPS reliabilityPRO GARMIN 410more stable?familiar with garmconnect (I have an etrex for trail use)A true running GPSI've tried the Garmin but I have not tried the MA - I'd LOVE to though.
So this is a little bit of a fail, you can not use the moto actv to stream music from phone over bluetooth to it. Which means no Pandora, Slacker, Spootify.
I go out for a few runs and I noticed that me heart rate read very low and erratic (25 bpm then 60 bpm) this only happens when I use my Bluetooth headphones with the chest strip HRM. I have tried it with the stock headphones whith great results.
Is there a way to connect to a bluetooth device that requires a code to be entered? I am trying to connect to my Microsoft Sync radio so I can stream music. The MA detects the Sync but when I click on it it just says connection fails. The Sync requires that you enter a code so I assume this is the reason for the connection failure.
My MotoActv shows the correct elevation on the unit during a workout but when that information is sync'd the elevation is corrupted and shows about 10,000' too high. And, the "elevation" metric does not show up on the chart even though I've selected it. Speed, distance, calories burned, etc. all show up - but not elevation. On my last workout the maximum elevation shows 15,123' and the low elevation shows 13,382'.I live in Moab, Utah at an elevation of about 4,600'. I did about 600' of climbing on the workout. We don't even have any peaks around here that are over 15,000
I've owned the MotoActv for two month, I got the mysterious "moisture issues" that everyone seems to be getting even though I've never used it in the rain. But the thing that is driving me nuts is the music. When I hit random shuffle of all my songs, I hear songs I don't want to hear... song that I do not own on my computer. Where are these songs coming from? Today I heard "Boot Scoot Boogie!" I abhore country music as does my wife. Doing a computer wide search shows no evidence that the song exists on my computer. Yet there it is playing in mile four. Other mystery songs have showed up too. The performance music playlist seems to be filled with songs I never heard of, yet evidently I perform well to them.
Let the developers know what new innovations you would like to see in Motoactive. Let them know what Apps, websites, hardware features that are out there that you love and would like to see incorporated into Motoactv.
way to check the Bluetooth protocol version being used for a given device connection on the iPhone? Is there a status screen or logfile somewhere?
E.g., if I connect a headset, is there a way to verify whether the iPhone is communicating with it using 3.0, 2.1, 2.0, etc? This isn't the same as what the device specs say it supports as (all?) Bluetooth devices are capable of falling back to earlier protocol versions. I'm envisioning a situation in which a 2.1 version device isn't fully compatible for whatever reason and so falls back to 1.1- how would you know this has happened?
I want to be able to verify what protocol a given device is actually communicating at for various reasons (security, power usage, etc.)...
