Motorola Motoactv :: Cannot Hear Audio From Earphone
Jun 27, 2012
I used my Motoactv last sunday for a 10K run and listened to the music the whole run. But today when I switched on the music I could hear nothing. Tested the earphone(Motorola earphone that comes in the pack) with my computer and it works. Restarted the device but still no luck. Can someone tell what can I do? I live in India and bought Motoactv two months ago in US.
I've recently got the Moto X and out of nowhere, I can only hear audio through one ear when having headphones plugged in. I've used compressed air and blew it in there and I've tested both headphones that I used on the phone on my laptop and they work perfectly. I probably have to send it in for warranty. I can't find the repair request form for Canada and when I do the request online it says "The IMEI is from a different country so you can't get it fixed in the United States." or something along those lines.
I love being able to "slap" the device and hear my metrics read to me. The problem is the voice over is pretty quiet compared to the music player. In order to hear it I have to turn the volume up which then makes the music uncomfortably loud (cort of like those annoying commmercials that are never at the same volume as the show you are watching).*** While the music does seem to quiet down a bit while metrics are being read, I would prefer it to auto-pause the music until after the coach is done reading the metrics. ***
my xperia mini pro android 4.0.4 baseband 72 had electro static noise.when i rebooted i cant hear any music on earphone.when ever i play music through earphones it starts playng in the speaker.
When I make a normal skype to skype call I can't hear the other persons voice. Yesterday, I could hear on switching on the speaker but after doing a factory reset I can't hear any sound. Mic is working fine as the person on the other end can hear me properly. Is this a handset fault or normal with motorola ATRIX.
I have an Iphone 4s - cannot hear the audio on the phone or hear music being played. When I try to turn up the audio the screen says audio-headsets? But yet, I have no headset connect.how to change where I can hear audio?
One of the reasons why I bought the ACTV was to have the ability to receive calls through the motoactv. I noticed yesturday that i can receive phone calls through my motoactv using the bluetooth connection and also using the regular red headphones that come with the device. all seems well till i receive a call.I can receive calls, the mike feature works so the other person can hear me. But i cannot hear the other person at all.I currently own an HTC EVO 3D droid phone.
I know that the audio coaching automatically advises you of your stats at 50% and 85% of your set (distance) goal while running.I could have sworn that previously I had the ability to set it to give status updates at a marked distance (0.5 mile, 1 mile, etc.) regardless of my distance goal. Am I correct, and that functionality is now gone? Or was I possibility using another setting or option, like intervals (I don't think so)? Please advise. I know I can do the shake/tap check any time, but it's so much more convenient to have the preset coaching.
So the very first time I used my motoactv I was able to tap the screen and I got an audio breakdown of my current stats of my run. It worked just that 1 time and has never worked since. Tap tap tap tap tap tap nothing. What am I doing wrong? When I do tap it it just goes through each of the visual screens for calories, distance, heart rate etc. Also, I have noticed that for some runs the audio alerts for each lap worked once and I have never heard another audio alert again.
Everything was working fine until last night when I did the recent update. I updated fine, synced a new playlist charged up and popped out for a run this morning. Very surprisingly the GPS picked up straight away but it was very quickly apparent that the audio had gone. I say gone but not completely.. there was no 'workout started' and no music playing. 1st thing was to obviously turn the volume up which when max volume was reached I did hear the beep.
Next after removing the headphones, plugging them into my phone and using the free app that plays music to the beat of my steps (brilliant) i got home and did a factory reset. No difference, can hear the max volume beep but nothing else, I've tried other headphones and the same. When I go to the music and press play nothing happens literally.. no pause button comes up... it must be registering the headphones because I can hear the max volume beep but its the only thing I can think..
I was riding with GPS and HRM on and working fine. The music was playing nicely and the audio coach tried to come on to announce the start of new laps. However, all that happened was the music volume dropped a bit but no lap announcement.
how to get the coach back to normal. It worked fine just the day before and the device is essentially brand new.
Interesting discovery during this morning's run - happened to flick the unit for a metrics update and, along with the other data, the audio coach announced an average pace that was actually the average pace for the whole run rather than for the current mile! All I need now is for the audio alert at the end of each mile to give me the average pace for the whole run and I am happy.
Oh, except that towards the end of the run the unit went weird on me (the voice announced in my ear that I had burned 4000 calories in 7 miles and then it stopped recording the distance I had run. It was raining but I think this is all connected to the sleeve of my running top swiping the screen and changing settings as I ran - hope so anyway!).
I have a pair of headphones that has an in-line button. The headphones were working for about 3 weeks with the motoactv, then one day the button stopped pausing and starting the audio for some reason. I tested the same headphones in my iphone, which worked as expected with no problems. I tested 2 other sets of headphones with the motoactv that have in-line buttons and they both work, but this paticular pair will not work with the in-line button. I have done a factory reset, but the results are the same. I have no idea what would cause this behavior.
So this is a little bit of a fail, you can not use the moto actv to stream music from phone over bluetooth to it. Which means no Pandora, Slacker, Spootify.
My MOTOACTV has been acting funky lately. It's done a couple of weird things (including appearing to "brick" last night before dying), but the most frustrating is that audio files that used to be playable on it are now listed by the device as unplayable.I specifically converted protected audio files in iTunes to unprotected MPEG files (using TuneClone) and made sure to use just these files when creating the playlists for my MOTOACTV. For several weeks (I've had the product for a little over 2 months), all was well. The songs played just fine, the playlists worked as expected, etc... Lately, though, not so much.
The songs in question are still listed in my "Songs" list as well as under their respective playlists, but rather than being black text, they are a medium gray. When tapping on these songs (and it appears to be about 30% of the songs), I get the following message:Unplayable FileThis file appears to be an unsupported type and cannot be played.I was wondering whether the file(s) might have been corrupted somehow, so I completely unsynced all of my playlists, (theorhetically) deleting all music from the device. MotoCast USB reported all files being removed from the device. Then, I resynced all files, but the problem remains. Then, I thought that perhaps the ORIGINAL files were corrupted, so I tested the files on the device through Finder, and found that they played just fine in iTunes.
Another issue that is perplexing me is the fact that I have FAR more songs listed in my "Songs" list than should be present on the device. Currently, I've synced just 2 playlists, with a total of 46 songs, though there is a good bit of crossover, so I should have something like 30 songs on my device. I have many, many more than this liste
after using siri on my 4S, the audio is quite low or hard to hear. For example the lock sound before using Siri, is at a normal sound level. On the same volume level, after using siri, the audio sounds distinguished from the normal sound. After siri, the lock sound volume is low, and off tone. Is my iPhone defective?
On our blog, we have received feedback about people not being able to make VoIP calls on the Samsung Galaxy S phones due to mic or audio problems. With Nimbuzz or Skype using Nimbuzz. (version Nimbuzz 2.0 for Android) Either way, they can't hear the person or the person on the other side can't hear anything. You can read some more details here - under the comments section. As you can see, we are trying to gather as much information as possible in order to figure out and solve any issue. But, I wanted to ask if anyone has experienced similar problems with any of the new Samsung Galaxy S devices? Have you been able to make calls over the internet without any quality, hardware or software issues?
My Lumia 900 is stuck in headset mode, even when I have pulled the headset out. I cannot hear/talk on the phone unless I go into speaker mode. I cannot hear any music or audio.. If I plug my headset back up I hear everything fine through the headset. I need to be able to use the phone without the headset!
this has been constantly happening to me on multiple sets of headphones. it appears the music player thinks that when the headphones are connected to the xoom that you must want to play music. last night i was watching Internet and all of a sudden a song in my music started playing when i went back to a prior video i was watching. many times prior to this i was listening to music in my mp3 app and music started playing from the music app.
i left my headphones connected all night with my xoom asleep not charging and just now i couldn't get my screen to come on. i was sure that the battery must have drained so i plugged it in and held the power button to get it to start and nothing happened. my charger was plugged in too. i was scared there for a bit until i unplugged the charger from the xoom and my screen came on asking me if i was sure i wanted to shut down. i had 56% battery. so i was able to continue. then all of a sudden my music started playing again.
I'm an happy owner of a lumia 1520. unfortunately i discovered that randomly (more or less once per week) the phone audio service / device completely stops, i cannot hear calls, xbox music or other players fail to play files and so on. xbox music reports error 8007045D. I have to restart the device to solve the issue.
I've had two Razr's behave the same, whenever audio plays, especially using the headphone jack and external speakers, one can hear an audiable click or pop just before and after the audio plays. This happens with Pandora, Rhapsody, and Google Navigator. I haven't tested other audio based apps yet.Verizon and Motorola say they've not heard of this issue, so I'm wondering how many other Razr owners have noticed this pop? Hearing such noises as the audio turns on and off is not acceptable quality for a Motorola branded phone.I don't know enough about how the Android OS works, but I'm thinking there are two possible causes. First, as different apps access the audio hardware the internal electronics of the phone produce an audible pop as the circuits power up and down. Alternatively, the Android OS may be probing the headpone jack trying to determine if it's connected to external speakers. I've noticed that the pop gets louder as the phone approaches 100% charge.
With a 90% charge or better I've even had the audio output go quiet if the headset cable is moved, even though the audio application shows audio is playing. I know that removing the headset cable will pause the player, but in this case hitting play starts the player and it shows progress, but no audio is heard.
I've been using my Moto Droid, running Android 2.2.2 for some time now. Up until recently, I've been able to use it to listen to Pandora and mp3s loaded onto the phone. Now, any time I plug a set of headphones into the audio jack, the audio is really distorted. It sounds like a channel is out or something, and this happens across all volume levels. It pretty much sounds like you're listening to music underwater. Doesn't matter if it's streaming adio through Pandora or mp3 audio. When I unplug the headset (any headset, mind you) and go to external speaker, the audio is fine.
I've owned the MotoActv for two month, I got the mysterious "moisture issues" that everyone seems to be getting even though I've never used it in the rain. But the thing that is driving me nuts is the music. When I hit random shuffle of all my songs, I hear songs I don't want to hear... song that I do not own on my computer. Where are these songs coming from? Today I heard "Boot Scoot Boogie!" I abhore country music as does my wife. Doing a computer wide search shows no evidence that the song exists on my computer. Yet there it is playing in mile four. Other mystery songs have showed up too. The performance music playlist seems to be filled with songs I never heard of, yet evidently I perform well to them.
