Motorola Motoactv :: Average Heart-rate On Laps In Portal?
Jan 26, 2012
I notice that in the portal the average heart-rate under laps is a cumulative for the total workout and not the average HR for that interval. Any way to swap that around? For training and coaching uses I think it needs to be by the lap/interval.
So it appears that Motorola may have sold through their stock of Heart Rate Moniotors, and not be restocking. I've been searching on line, and everyone is either out of stock (with no chance of restock), or running up the price extremly high.So I'm asking, is anyone using a differnet Heart Rate Monitor, or can anyone recommend a good alternate? I have an old polar HRM that I'm using, but I really would like to get this integrated with the MOTOACTV if I can...
For the past couple of weeks, I have had some problems with the HR display. The device will show my HR shifting rapidly from up to 209 BPM down to 0BPM and occasionally to no reading at all. This usually happens at the beginning of a workout and goes to normal after several minutes. I keep my chest strap very clean so I know that it isn't dirt and sweat disrupting transmission. When it first started I assumed that it was a sign of a dying battery but changing it didn't make a difference. This only happens during running and aerobic activities. With weight training and yoga there doesn't seem to be a problem.
I have migrated from a simple Timex heart rate monitor to the Motoactv and use it for running. I use the Motoactv Heart Rate Monitor. After 2 weeks of use I find a feature I miss is Heart Rate Recovery. When a workout was completed the Timex gave you the heart rate at completion and one minute later. The decline of heart rate in that one minute was a great indicator of overall heart health and a good metric for individual runs, especially long runs. Am I missing some setup info or is this metric missing?
Has anyone figured a practical workaround without too much fumbling at the end of a run or other workout?
I want to get a heart rate monitor strap to go with my Motoactv, which I love by the way. I went to the Motoactv site and to Amazon to get a Moroactve heart rate strap and they are out of stock. What should I do? Buy a Garman Ant+ HRM strap?Wait for a Motoactv HRM strap Or maybe sometime in the future we might actually be able to get the SF700 again?
I cannot seem to display heart rate percentage on my MOTOACTV.
On the options, I can only see options to display the heart rate in bpm. I used to have the garmin forerrunner and it was easy to do this. Does motoactv support this option?
I recently sold my Garmin 405 CX and bought the 16 GB MotoACTV. With it I purchased the Motorola Heart Rate Monitor Chest Strap. The main reason I sold the Garmin was because I was having trouble with the heart rate monitor. So after a couple of weeks of testing, I am having the same problem with the MotoACTV as I did with the garmin. When I first put on the strap, it seems to be reporting the correct Heart Rate. With in about 15 minutes of my workout, my heart rate starts to fall on the MotoACTV. Usually reporting somewhere around 45-50 BPM. My resting rate was around the mid 70's. I have tried all of the suggestions on many Internets sites including the link I referenced below. I even tried using a Polar Strap with the Motorola Transmitter to no avail. I've tried using the ultrasonic gel. Different placements on my body.[URL]I really like the MotoActv Device and all its features but I really need a heart rate monitor that works. I would prefer to not return the device. Several years ago I have a Polar and its Heart Rate monitor worked fine on me.I would not discount that fact that something about the ANT+ technology doesn't like my body. Since both the Garmin and MotoACTV both use this technology. And both has the same results.
I have been trying to use the heart rate monitor, and it keeps reporting my heart rate a lot lower than it actually is. Where is the best spot on the chest to put the monitor? below or above the boob area. I normally have it between my boob and stomach (i am a large guy) and it will show my heart rate at like 80 when it is over 150. Also, is there any suggestions that can make this more accurate? Is it because I am large the monitor is not reporting accurately?
Under Fitness Zones, Basic Heart Rate Zones, it has my resting heart rate as 60 bpm as detected by MOTOACTV. Max HR is set as 185 but I want to update that, manually, to 190. When I make the change, there is no OK or SUBMIT button
First, I'm unable to save a zone template. If I edit the Carmichael zones and hit save, it tells me that's it has saved the template. But alas, it's nowhere to be found. Also, after I hit save the zone resets back to the default (which is incorrect as it has the first two zones overlapping significantly). Take a look at the attachment. I'm no heart rate expert by any means, but are "Recovery" and "Foundation" supposed to overlap as much as they do (why are both of their lower number 87?)? Just looking at this now I realize how little sense it makes. Why does the "Foundation" zone go all the way into "Steady State" I tried changing this and it just reverts back to the original everytime. I'm sure you'll guess my next gripe... yep, my zones are incorrect on my MotoACTV as well.
I bought my wife a MotoActv for Mother's Day. She has been using a beginners version of a polar watch. Is there anything in the works that she will be able to use the strap that came with the Polar watch with her MA?
I have noticed at least one person has one of these.I got mine today at Best Buy. I saw the post that says it is compatible with Garmin accessories.I have a Garmin Chest Strap monitor that pairs with the device fine. However when i start a work out it connects and does NOT show any heart rate info.I have verified that the monitor works with Garmin 305 GPS/ Monitor.I tried changing the Batteries.Or do I have a faulty unit? I noticed someone paired a new garmin premium strap.Maybe older monitors don't show data even though they pair up with the MOTOACTV?
How to use the device with only heart rate and calorie burn (like weight training or other non-programmed workouts)? I would also like to use it in spin class but the bike don't have any ANT+ sensors - so a heart rate/calorie burn mode would be nice. How to use the device for a spin class? Also, how is the calorie burn calculated? Is it based on height, weight, age, etc. with an algorithim or is it simply based on a typical condition (basically guessing the burn)? Is it possible to upload my New Leaf testing profile to the device?
I go out for a few runs and I noticed that me heart rate read very low and erratic (25 bpm then 60 bpm) this only happens when I use my Bluetooth headphones with the chest strip HRM. I have tried it with the stock headphones whith great results.
After using the coached interval feature a couple of times, I have noticed a problem. Once my other workouts are synced, the table in the heart rate zones tab shows the total number of minutes spent in each individual heart rate zone. This is not happening with the programmed interval workouts. I know my zones are being recorded because of the feedback I get during the workout and the color coded graph portion seems to be accurate. The table on my recent 25 minute interval workout reads 1:55 in Z2, 2:32 in Z3, 0:36 in Z4, and 0:00 in both Z1 and Z5. Clearly these durations do not add up.
So yesterday looking into my portal, which I admit having been doing for a while other that for downloading the cvs. file to use with training peaks, thought, "new update for the device...probably new stuff for the portal", and guess what...yep, the motoactv team finally added steps and step rate (cadence) as a metric. Finally I thought, but is broken. The portal's able to show the amounts of steps taken but on the step rate it shows zero, and by zero I meant, no data whatsoever. I've been waiting for this to be added for to long.
I want to know if the D3 can connect to wireless headphones and a bluetooth heart rate monitor simultaneously? I am thinking about purchasing a bodymedia link arm band and I would like to use this while also using LG HBS-700 bluetooth headphones. How does it work?
I have not been able to get the Auto-lap function to work. During a workout, I have the 'Last Lap Pace' on my customised metrics view, but it only every reads: This is despite several runs of 6 / 7 miles. In order to try to get it working, I have the following set in 'Settings/Workout/Laps't
tonight I will be doing a 2 km warm up run. Then running 800 meter repeats x 6 then 2 km cool down. Is it possible to track each 800 meter run to see speed and time?
what is the difference between Laps and Intervals? and which do i use if i wanted to use the jeff Galoway style training....run 3min walk 2min. Which do I use, Laps or Intervals and how do i set it up?
When I run, the coach tells me that I have reached a mile and that that I ran it in 12 minutes and my average pace was 12 minutes... that makes sense (and yes I know I am slow ). However, when I reach mile 2, it tells me I ran it in 11 minutes and that my average pace was 11 minutes.I expected it to say average page 11.50 miles per hour so I can try and improve my average pace over the course of my run.
I would like to use heart rate sensor while running. Are any of You use something like this with Active? Normaly I am listening to the music and using RunKeeper while running, but I want to check my heart rate also. I was looking for this kind of device but no good results.
Interesting discovery during this morning's run - happened to flick the unit for a metrics update and, along with the other data, the audio coach announced an average pace that was actually the average pace for the whole run rather than for the current mile! All I need now is for the audio alert at the end of each mile to give me the average pace for the whole run and I am happy.
Oh, except that towards the end of the run the unit went weird on me (the voice announced in my ear that I had burned 4000 calories in 7 miles and then it stopped recording the distance I had run. It was raining but I think this is all connected to the sleeve of my running top swiping the screen and changing settings as I ran - hope so anyway!).
I have a problem with the heart rate sensor. I don't have no health apps open. I use google fit and some of my apps are connected to it. But while I'm using my phone and i put my finger over the sensor it lights up red! Even a blanket lights it up. I don't know why it started doing this.
I've not been able to connect my Motorola heart rate monitor chest strap to the Motoactv device. The device keeps trying to connect and never connects. I wear the heart monitor, including wetting the contacts, but the device never connects. I'm assuming the the new heart monitor has good batteries, since it's brand new. Are the batteries installed in an inactive manner for shipping? I need to get it working or else I need to return it for my $70 plus.
