Ever since software update was received my screen won't auto-rotate, is this a problem with phone or the soft ware? Returned to store where I bought it and was told it was software issue.
View 4 RepliesFor the last few days, my phone will not rotate. The only app that is rotating is YouTube, but even gmail and the stock message+ is not rotating to landscape. I checked all the settings and everything is correct from what I can see.
View 1 Replies View RelatedThis is my second Razr. I noticed from the beginning that this unit is much "tighter" than my previous one. The power button and volume rocker don't wobble at all and sit tight. Now, when I was browsing a lot of heavy flash web sites last night in landscape mode, I hit home button and the screen rotated to portrait, so I rotated the phone as well. Then I go into Apps and the screen flips back to landscape even though I hold it vertically.
Hit home portrait mode, hit browser and it turns to landscape by itself. Holding the phone in portrait I unchecked the Auto-rotate, and the browser is back to portrait, check the A-R box and goes back to landscape. Reboot the phone and its fine. Long story short I can somewhat reproduce it when I make the phone warm up in landscape mode. Anyway the "tightness" of the phone stops gyro from rotating when the unit heats up?
Settings/display/Auto-rotate screen IS CHECKEDBionic will auto-rotate screen when docked in standard dock or car dock. It will also auto rotate screen when in an app. But it won't auto-rotate screeen when in any of the 5 home screens

My screen will not auto-rotate when I move the phone.If I open an app or watch a video that is in landscape it till rotate, but when I close the app/video the screen will not rotate back.I have to turn off the screen, rotate the phone and the unlock the phone to get the screen to rotate.I have my display settings set to auto-rotate.I have this issue using Blur launcher, GoLauncher, and ADW.

When I received it, as I was holding the phone upright (portrait) the photo was showing sideways. I rotated the phone, and the photo rotated yet again so its again sideways to the orientation of the phone. The only way to see the photo in the correct orientation is to hold the phone upside down, i.e. hard buttons at the top. I never noticed this before and it doesn't do it with pictures that were already on the phone. I looked at the one he took on his phone and it is in the correct orientation. I opened the picture both in the stock messaging app and in Handcent and its the same in both.
View 4 Replies View RelatedNew issue I've never seen before, on my girlfriends d3 the homescreen refuses to rotate. I toggled the auto rotate setting, rebooted the phone, no change. Just for giggles I installed go launcher, and now the homescreen rotates properly.

I have discovered that all of the pictures that I take in portrait orientation once emailed to someone they are switched to landscape. The pictures can not be rotated back to the proper orientation with out opening Paint program and rotating them manually. I take hundreds and thousands of pics of my life (kids, vacations etc..) and do not want to have to manipulate them later on once moved to my computer. If you lower the picture quality to 6mp it fixes the problem, also if you shoot the pic in HDR mode. I should not have to do this to make it work. Fail.

View 3 Replies View Relatedafter the ics update my screen suffers from a flicker. trying to pin down the cause, i have noticed it is fine after i reboot my phone. but, once i go into my flipboard app, taptu app, or watch a video on Internet is when it starts acting up. i can play games just fine. i can view most webpages just fine. i can use all my other apps just fine. i've uninstalled, reinstalled these apps, i've pulled the battery, i've changed settings, i've cleared cache. i just can't figure it out. the phone ran just fine before the update. now, after the update is when i have problems. i ran into another person online that has the same issue so i know there is at least one other person in the world having simular issues. this forum is my last resort before calling verizon support and either getting a replacement or upgrading to a different phone.

View 7 Replies View RelatedI am having an issue where i receive the standard unlock screen even though I have a password configured. If I use the slide menu I am never prompted for my password. There are also times when the normal unlock screen will flash up and then go straight to my password.
Current configuration: PIN, lock screen after 5 sec, lock immediatly on power press.
This only happens when I allow the screen to go to sleep on it's own. If i press the power button I am not seeing the issue.
I use the app "Snycmypix" so I can link my contacts with their photos on facebook. Before the 2.3.4 update, the app worked fine and was full screen. Now, it take about a little more than 1/4 of my screen. Any know whats up with that, and if Moto is aware of it and working on a fix?

Has anyone found a conversion utility that properly converts a .3gp video file to rotate the video horizontally (on a PC)? The only time the screen rotates is when watching the YouTube app. And then it wont rotate back until i go back to my home screen. I have it set to auto rotate in the pull down shade. I didnt record the full update number/version.I gave the ok to download and install after reading the warning that it might take up to 7 minutes to complete.It has locked with the red dot "M" logo for 30 minutes.What should I do now? Holding the power button does not turn it off , no buttons get any response. I am about to pull the battery and restart but I fear I might cobble up the update and cause more harm.
